Year 52 February, Land of Hot Water

[3rd Person's POV]

In the bustling streets of Yugakure, the night's darkness was repelled by the bright and colorful lights

Of the shops and casinos, in one such casino there was a fat man with booze in his hand betting money like it was nothing… and losing it at the same rate. He was Kazuna, the businessman who had multiple chains of brothel houses across the Land of Hot Water. He was the one Minato and Orochimaru were assigned to protect for a month as he was on his vacation, traveling across the fire nation. The money he spent to assign the mission made the mission an A-ranked one, since it didn't have high danger Hiruzen just assigned it for Orochimaru and Minato while giving Jiraiya a Mission with some chunins to investigate the situations in the borders.

This was their last day in the mission as another team will take over the mission from tomorrow, they stood behind Kazuna without any movement and kept a constant look for anything suspicious, Orochimaru didn't show any emotion in his face while Minato had a disgusted look in his eyes when he say Kazuna drooling at the sight of a prostitute who was getting closer to him.

"Should we stop him?"

Minato asked Orochimaru, seeing that Kazuna stopped betting and started doing passionate stuff with the prostitute while slowly making his way out of the casino with her.

"Seeing his drooling face it's obvious that asking him to stop is impossible, trust me I've had missions similar to this in the past and none of them stopped."

Orochimaru said as they followed the horny duo behind and stopped outside a hotel after the duo entered in a fast manner trying to get inside as soon as possible, their sloppy kiss sounds gave Minato a shiver.

"So what will we do now?"

Minato asked after five minutes as he and Orochimaru still stood in the same place, there was an awkward silence in the atmosphere and the streets were still crowded given that it was a tourist city with hundreds of tourists visiting them each day.

"They won't come out till the next day, we will just have to hand over the mission scroll to the team coming tomorrow morning at 7 am and get our new mission scroll from them."

"So where do we stay tonight?"

"In the same hotel as them, preferably the same floor as them."

Orochimaru said as they both entered the hotel and asked the receptionist for a room and they got a room in the same floor as Kazuna, they know his location because Minato placed a tracking seal on Kazuna the moment he met him which allows him to sense anywhere in the radius of 20km, not that they both needed that as they had already memorized his chakra signature and could easily sense him but it was their contingency plan if Kazuna got kidnapped and was outside of their chakra sense's range.

In this time Minato has learnt how to draw seals on his hands without the ink actually touching his hands, he covered his hands in a thin layer of chakra and the seals will stick on to any surface his hand touches, he also made a scroll with 272 different types of seals in it which will be stuck to his hands when his touched them, he made it to use seals faster in the middle of the battle. This is the method he used to stick the tracking seal on Kazuna's back.

They entered and Minato immediately placed a noise sealing barrier inside the room which stops any sound from going outside their room.

Minato dived on the bed immediately after that and released a sigh,

"Today was exhausting wasn't it?"

"I've experienced worse"

"Well that I can't argue with."

Minato said with a awkward smile while scratching his left cheek,

"I'm not feeling tired so I'll be up at night on watch" Orochimaru said after sitting on the chair placed in the corner of the room as he turned off the lights.

"Thanks" Minato said in relief as he was really tired since he trained on mastering the [Flying Raijin] for the most part of his day while using a shadow clone to trick Kazuma after Orochimaru advised him to not waste time protecting a guy who has no real strength.

"So how far have you figured out about [Flying Raijin]?"

Orochimaru asked curiously, he too had tried to learn that jutsu when his sensei showed it to him after he became a chunin but after training for 7 months and making no progress in it he gave up, he was excited to see that his student was making progress in it and wanted to know the principle behind that jutsu.

"I easily figured out the seal part, those are just marker seals which acts like a beacon, I even tried improving it so that only I could feel the chakra coming out of it but it reduced it's efficiency so I discarded that idea, the stationary kunais are easy to feel and I have a feel that it won't be that hard but I am scared to do it."

Now even Orochimaru is surprised, all this time with his student the only time he has seen him afraid was when Jiraiya mentioned the Bath house incident which seemed to have left a 'strong' impression on him.

"Are you scared?"

"Yes, and I'm not afraid to admit that. I am scared because, think what if I teleported underground or half of my body teleported while the other half stayed? I'd be dead before I knew it."

"That's…. Not wrong"

"See! I'm not wrong"

Orochimaru looked like he was contemplating something before he said

"That doesn't mean you are right, sometimes all it takes is a leap of faith… that's all it takes for you to change."

"Whatever.. I'm gonna sleep"

Orochimaru didn't get annoyed by his reply and just looked at Minato who slowly drifted to his sleep.

[Orochimaru's POV]

I watched my student sleep. It still feels surreal having a student who's just like me but at the same time opposite to me, he's like the sun warm, bright and smiling while I am cold, gloomy and frowning. He's more talented than me and is very intelligent.

Thinking about it takes me back to the question he asked me,

[Flashback]

"What's your dream sensei?"

"Hmm… I want to learn all the jutsus that exist and learn the principle they work on."

"That's a good dream sensei, I dream to be the best Hokage."

{End of Flashback]

His dream was a common one among the kids these days but he certainly had a much higher chance than them, being the best friend of the next jinchuriki, student of the current one and being strong as a jounin at the age of 12.

Being the best may be hard but the worst? After seeing sensei's reign it's hard for him to be the worst even if he tried his best in being so. Am I making a joke? It seems that spending time with him in the lab made me change but it's not that bad.

He is currently learning [Flying Raijin] and will probably learn it within the next month after coming out of his hesitation, then he'll probably try to achieve Nature Chance in Fire or Wind but with war coming soon it's not guaranteed he will survive or even if we'll win, he still has Tobirama Senju-sama's notes which will help him to learn faster, Mito-sama put a seal on it so that It is only visible to the ones she allows them to, a great seal which will take a few months to crack, not worth the time wasted as if I really wanted to know I could easily ask Minato for it.

I looked at his sleeping form and remembered my ex-student and Tsunade's late brother, Nawaki Senju he was killed on a mission and I didn't even know how he died, no matter how much I try to think about it, all I could remember was a black figure and it still makes me feel guilty whenever I see Tsunade's face.

I should stop the research for a while and step up my training.After all It's been a long time since I trained. I cracked my neck and looked at Minato.

Afterwards, I have to see how far he goes in the future.
