chapter thirteen

Diego bust into a fit of laughter "wait you are pulling my legs right because it funny"he said but when he saw the serious look on her face he knew she wasn't joking

"I am sorry for laughing but how is that possible you must have met a lot of princes before me so you never kissed them"he asked.

"no I didn't all they wanted was to be intimate and I wasn't ready so I stayed away from them"she replied.

"well how do you intend to keep your promise"he asked

"well you should teach me"she said innocently.

Diego could not believe what he had heard "I should teach you how to kiss hmm I'll try so

"knock knock"someone interrupted them.

"seriously some people don't have good luck why would someone come by this time"he said and stood up to see who was at the door. He opened it and it was Mike "why did you come to disturb me by this time"he asked.

"sorry I just came to give you the invitation cards that were addressed to you"Mike said handing the cards over to Diego who in turn collected them and read them "an invitation to the the Duke of ville's birthday and his wife baby shower"

"yes Diego her majesty Martha just put to bed"Mike replied.

"tell the Duke that I am very busy and I will not attend"Diego said and handed over the letters to Mike.

"no Diego that not fair it not good to reject an invitation besides I would love to explore versuvius"Ophelia said.

"no i am busy we cannot attend the function"Diego said

Ophelia got down from the bed and went to collect the letters from Mike "thank you for collecting the invitation tell the Duke we will be there"

"ok my princess I'll take my leave"Mike bowed and left and she closed the door.

"Ophelia I told you we won't attend I am busy"

"don't attend I'll just ask Henry to take me he must surely know the way"Ophelia teased him

"fine I'll take you,I'll tell Maria to get the royal fashion designer and he will make a gown for you the party is tomorrow night"he said angrily.

"I am sorry if I annoyed you"she said and huggedhim.Hero was surprised at what had just happened "I didn't get the chance to say thank you for saving me

"it fine it is my duty to protect you"he said and hugged her back.

"you know if you were like this from the beginning we would have had a baby by now"he said smiling

Ophelia disengaged herself from him"stop saying rubbish it just a hug and nothing else you should have your bath I am off to bed"she said and went to lay down.

He laughed inwardly his wife was really something else,he grabbed a towel from the closet and went into the bathroom.

The next morning Ophelia woke up feeling hungry she hadn't eaten properly yesterday because she was worried sick about Diego. She turned to her side and Diego wasn't there then she heard water splashing in the bathroom

"he must be having his bath"

"Maria Maria"she called out to her maid

"ma I am coming"Maria replied and within 30 seconds she arrived.

"good morning my princess hope you slept well? Maria asked

"yes maria,I am starving can you make something for me"Ophelia said tapping her rumbling tummy.

"didnt the prince feed you how could he leave you hungry"Maria said smiling.

"stop being naughty or I'll hit you "Ophelia laughed

"I'll stop,let me get the food before the prince beheads me for keeping his beloved hungry"Maria said and ran away before Ophelia could aim at her with her pillow.

"such a naughty girl"Ophelia latughed.

Diego came out of the bathroom his hair was wet and looked like thread he was wearing only his trousers and he was shirtless his six packs was something to behold and he looked sexy with water dripping from his hair.

Diego caught her staring at him "hey wifey Haven't you seen a handsome person before?

"I have please don't start teasing me as it is I am hungry and don't have strength to argue"she said patting her stomach

"you are such a foodie go have your bath I'll be waiting for you so we can have breakfast together"he said handing her the towel. she collected it from him and went to have her bath.

She came out after 20minutes and she went to the dressing room to change then she sat down to do her make up

"wifey you are fine naturally please don't apply make up

"I have to look good at all times let me be"she said and continued her makeup

When she was done he led her to the dinning room he drew the chair back and she sat down then he took his seat.

Ophelia looked at the table it was filled with different kinds of meal from grilled chicken to rice pudding and also had six baskets filled with different kinds of fruits.

"dig in wifey don't just stare at the food"he said and served her. She tasted it and it was delicious she started rushing the food she didn't care if anyone was looking at her.

Diego stared at his wife as she was rushing the food,she coughed and he gave her water "you shouldn't rush your food you know"he said handing her the cup of water.

"well I am hungry because I was waiting for you I didn't eat"she replied.

Diego couldn't believe she had actually done that "I am touched so you actually missed me

"yes kinda I don't know just let me eat"she said and continued eating

They finished eating and the got up and left the dinning room, on their way to the room they kept talking "Ophelia I have called the designer he will make a gown for you I'll be back I want to attend to something"he said

"no let's go for a walk I am feeling homesick already from staying at home all day"she replied

"true let's go I'll take you to the garden"he said and led her out of the palace.
