11 Birth Of The Original Family

In a clearing inside the forest, in the dead quite of the night.

Kol's dead body just layed there, in silence.

Then his soul entered his body.

At first nothing happened, until his body was suddenly shrouded in a purple hue, and rose three feet from the ground.

The purple hue became denser and denser, and brighter and brighter. In the end, a big purple ball of light was hovering in the air.

Suddenly, "BOOMMM!!!", the purple light exploded with a loud boom, and the purple energy was released outward with a powerful blast.

The clearing was instantly turned into a crater. The trees nearby instantly became dust, and those some distance away broke apart into wooden chunks.

Even those trees further away were uprooted and thrown tens of meters into the air.

But Kol's body didn't seem to be affected by the explosion in the slightest. Though his clothes did disappear along with everything else nearby, his body only lost its support and fell down to the ground.

"BOOug!!DTglaP!", Sound of a very loud thunderclap.

The sky was although clear, but this thunder was the manifestation of all that excess energy released in the area.

At the same time, Kol took a very deep breath, "HHUUUU!!", as his lungs expanded, he woke up with a start and his eyes slammed opened.

After sitting up, Kol took a moment to calm down, and looked around in vigilance to check his current situation.

It seemed like those witches had most likely made all their plans in haste, and couldn't do most of the preparations because of the shortage of time.

This was apparent by the fact that it was already night time and no one had yet arrived to seal or destroy his body.

It seemed like those ancestral spirits in the ancestral plane just happened to discover him vulnerable, and decided to take the opportunity to strike him down in his moment of weakness.

They made preparations to successfully draw his soul to the ancestral plane, and seal it there, like they did with 'the hollow'.

Then they apparently ordered their descendants in the real world to seal or destroy his body.

Unfortunately, they couldn't make it here in time, since they probably lived halfway across the world.

Even with magic, it would had taken them weeks to arrive here.

After realising this, Kol calmed down and used various different spells to check his condition.

Before anything else, he was glad to learn that 'The Spell Of Life And Soul Concept' had evolved to the second stage.

There were two reasons why that happened.

First of all, due to his special attribute, every time he died, his soul would get stronger, since the energy of the Power Stone would be used to revive him.

Second reason was the 'immortality spell'. The souls of people who become immortal through the immortality spell and its variants recieved a major boost.

In the show, when the souls of evil vampires got free from the phoenix stone and entered human bodies, these souls proved to be so powerful that human bodies could not contain them, and their cells entered a state of necrosis.

With these two factors working together as one, Kol's soul received a major boost, enough for 'the spell of life and soul concept' to enter stage two.

In stage two, the spell was truly perfect. It could no longer be switched off, even by Kol himself. It had no weakness.

As a side benefit, The Power Stone had now fused with Kol's new heart. It was now in the middle of his heart and became a part of it, so Kol no longer had to carry it around.

From now on, every time Kol died, the Power Stone would become the place where his soul would reside in before his ressurrection.

It will protect his soul and he would be much more intimately linked to it.

He would be able to use the stone's energy for various purposes, even in his soul form.

Be it Magic, or just using the raw energy of the Power Stone to destroy things, he could do it all.

But Kol still would not be able to use any of the abilities of the Power Stone at the current stage of the spell.

In any case, Kol was happy with these results as he made his way to Mystic Falls.

On his way to the Mikaelson family house, Kol captured a helpless bloke who was wandering outside the village, and then drew a powerful Magic circle to gather the Omega effect directly from outer space.

Then he drained the poor guy of all his blood while simultaneously bathing in the energy of Omega effect to finally complete the final step of the ritual of immortality spell.

After the transition was complete, Kol found many changes to his body, so he used several different spells to check the condition of his now Hybrid body.

Esther didn't have the complete version of 'immortality spell'. She only had an incomplete, modified version that she acquired from unknown sources.

After all, the spell was nearly lost in time. It was created in the first century and had been modified many times over the course of thousand years. Not to mention, Esther herself had to modify it to make it usable.

Kol studied the incomplete spell that Esther had, and her modifications, then used his own knowledge to create a different spell altogether that no longer resembled the original spell.

But despite all that, the spell still resembled Esther's version more than the original version, because Kol wanted to use the spell to turn himself into a Hybrid, not an immortal. He already was an immortal, so he didn't need to use the immortality spell for that.

However, unlike Esther's version, the original version could grant much better psychic abilities.

Fortunately, Kol's version inherited that part from the original version. His version had granted him ever-growing telepathic and telekinetic abilities.

As a side benefit, he had finally awakened the ability to create Doomsday Virus in his bloodstream.

Although it was different from Doomsday from DC world, Kol's Doomsday Virus was much more complete, and he could use it to do many different things, including everything Doomsday could do.

As Kol slowly walked home in the darkness of the night, he observed his physical changes.

First of all, his dirty blonde, curly hairs had turned into completely black, straight hairs.

His body had become much more muscular than before. Now he looked much more like a real warrior than a teenage boy. Though he could still probably pass for Stefan with some change in clothes.

His eyes had also changed. The colour of his iris had become Purple like Power Stone.

"HISS!!", as he walked, he opened his mouth as vampire fangs came out and his eyes changed colour once again.

The colour of sclera in his eyes turned dark red, same as Omega effect.

His vampire fangs were also red, unlike the regular white colour of normal vampire fangs, and they were tough enough to easily piece through his own skin.

The best part was that they would evolve infinitely along with his body.

Kol's face turned human once again as he continued to inspect his condition.

The spell that he had used was created like an Asgardian spell, but it was still essentially the same spell, only with different ingredients and conditions.

Esther version called upon the sun for life, and ancient white oak tree, one of Nature's eternal objects for immortality.

Kol on the other hand, called upon the Power Stone, that contained an aspect of singularity, for life, and the genetic samples of Darkseid, a God, and hence Nature's eternal being, for immortality.

Then he was brought back to life with a discharge of the energy from Power Stone, and completed the ritual by drinking human blood and bathing in the energy of Omega Effect.

As Kol was a Hybrid like Nicklaus and hence still technically alive unlike vampires, him and his Sireline could procreate.

Because the spirits could not interfere in this ritual, Kol and his sireline were all day-walkers.

They also didn't have the problem of heightened emotions, or any humanity-off switch within their subconscious.

Unlike regular vampires, Kol and his sireline could enter someone else's property without their permission. They didn't have to be invited in.

Since blood and Omega effect had completed his transition, Kol would feel hunger for blood like regular vampires, along with hunger for the energy of Omega Effect.

However, his hunger was not as strong as regular Vampires.

The spell decreed, that the heart made from the genetic samples of Darkseid had made him immortal, so once the heart was taken out, that immortality would be lost.

But as we already know about 'the spell of life and soul concept', Kol would only truly die if the Power Stone was completely destroyed.

The DNA of Darkseid originated from an outside source would be able to piece his skin, like Kryptonite.

Kol's own fangs would be able to pierce his skin, and his blood would have the same properties as vampire blood.

But the vampires that he would turn would all be day-walkers with Omega Effect, and Kol would be able to control how much Omega Effect a vampire could receive.

The energy of Power Stone would be able to instantly kill any vampire from his sireline, just like Sunlight to normal vampires.

The direct descendants of the vampires that he would personally turn would be completely human, but if they ever drank his blood, they would receive permanent Omega Effect.

And since they would be naturally conceived, the Darkseid's DNA inside them would be considered to be from a separate outside source.

After studying all his changes, Kol realized that he would have to be very careful about who he turned into a vampire. These abilities were amazing, but he didn't want something to bite him back in the arse in future.

As Kol reached home, he habitually used X-ray vision to look inside before going in.

And he was angered by what he discovered.

This was the time when Mikaelson family usually went to sleep.

But tonight was different. All the candles were still lit, and unlike the usual serenity of the night, it was more like the chaos of a battlefield, as blood was everywhere in the house, on the floor and on the walls.

Dead bodies of all of Kol's siblings layed on the floor, scattered across the house.

Besides Kol, Mikael and Esther who were not in the house, everyone else layed dead on the floor.

Earlier this evening during dinner, Mikael and Esther first offered their children wine laced with doppelgänger's blood that carried the immortality spell, then Mikael drove his sword through their hearts.

Dead bodies of Nicklaus and Rebekah layed in the living room, near the entrance of the house.

Rebekah's body was near the fireplace while Nicklaus's body was not far behind her's.

Suddenly, their bodies moved. Since they were the first to die, they were the first to wake up.

The two siblings were still in shock by what had happened, as Nicklaus first sat up and looked down at his clothes, still drenched in his own blood.

When he noticed Rebekah, "Bekah!", he called out to her in a concerned voice.

"Huh? Blood! What happened?", Rebekah asked. She hadn't yet regained her bearings.

Nicklaus moved towards her, and placed his hand on her shoulder to support her, "It will be alright. We will be alright.", he spoke.

Nicklaus was already starting to register the events before their deaths.

"Creak!", Mikael opened the door and walked in, while dragging Astrid by the back of her neck.

"What are you doing?", Nicklaus asked Mikael in an accusing tone, but with a hint of anger in the undertone.

"We must finish what we started.", Mikael replied calmly.

Then he dragged Astrid towards Rebekah.

"You have to drink if you want to live.", Mikael continued as he used his knife to slit Astrid's wrist.

"Drink!", Mikael commanded.

As blood came out, Nicklaus finally understood what Mikael meant by 'drinking'.

"NO!", he tried to fight back to stop this madness, but Mikael easily overpowered him and pushed him aside.

At this time, "Boom!", the front door was hit open as Kol walked in.

"Mikael! What do you think you are doing!?", Kol asked angrily.

At this point, everyone's attention was already drawn to him as they looked at him.

"Kol. This is for your own good. Our family will now live forever. You must not get too attached to a mortal who will one day die.", Mikael explained calmly.

Mikael knew that Kol wasn't asking about all the blood, but Astrid.

"And who are YOU to decide that she will DIE!? This is not your decision to make.", Kol replied back in a forceful tone.

"Listen to me boy. Your mother has found a way for our family to live forever. If you get too attached to a mortal, you will have to watch her die as she grows old.", Mikael tried to calm him down.

"That's not what I'm talking about old man. I already know about the immortality spell. In fact, I have used it on myself. But that is no reason why YOU should have the right to decide the life or death of MY FU*KING GIRL!!", Kol replied with anger apparent in his undertone.

"Calm yourself boy. I am your father!", Mikael replied angrily. He never liked explaining himself, yet he had to now.

Kol took a deep breath to calm down, then asked calmly, in the same tone as Mikael usually used, "Yes father. But tell me something first. Have YOU completed the ritual for immortality spell? For yourself?".

"I drank the wine laced with doppelgänger's blood, but I haven't died to complete the ritual.", Mikael spoke calmly.

"I see.", Kol replied, and then turned towards Astrid's direction.

She had already taken the opportunity to come near him, and was now looking at Mikael with accusation apparent in her eyes.

Kol held her hands and gazed in her eyes as he asked, "Astrid, do you trust me?".

She nodded, "With my life.", without a hint of hesitation in her tone.

Kol then used his vampire fangs to bite into his own wrist, and extended his bleeding wrist in front of her mouth, "Then drink!".

Since no one had yet actually become a vampire here, everyone was surprised to see Kol's vampire face.

Astrid hesitated as well, but still did as she was told, and was surprised to discover that the wound on her wrist healed instantly, "This is amazing!", she spoke.

"Alright! Bekah, Nick, come here and drink from Astrid.", Kol spoke to his siblings.

Nicklaus and Rebekah finally snapped out of their stupor and did as they were told.

But before they could loose themselves in their hunger, Kol pushed them back.

Then he fed Astrid some more of his blood, just in case.

And, "CLICK!!", then he snapped Astrid's neck, thereby killing her instantly and painlessly.

After about half an hour, most of Mikaelson family members had woken up and completed their transition into original vampires.

At this point, everyone was sitting in their living room.

Kol had already understood exactly what had happened in his absence.

Mikaelson family lost Henrik to the wolves, so in their desperation, Mikael and Esther came up with a way to make their children strong enough to survive in this cruel world.

And that way was to turn them into Original Vampires by using a variation of immortality spell.

Kol didn't have any opinions about this, since he already knew this was going to happen.

Of course, he wouldn't simply let Henrik die. Kol already had contingencies in place if something like this ever happened.

Henrik's soul didn't pass on after his death, but was stored in a safe place. Kol would use it later to resurrect Henrik.

"Alright. It's my turn now. Kol, you need to kill me.", Mikael still needed to die to complete the ritual for himself, so he asked Kol to kill him.

"Wait for Astrid to wake up.", Kol replied calmly.

"Don't be impulsive boy. I know it is difficult, but she didn't take the blood of the doppelgänger. She will not wake up. You need to move on.", Mikael explained in an annoyed tone.

"Just wait! I'll show you a major perk that comes with being immortal.", Kol replied back.

After a while, Astrid's body suddenly moved and she woke up with a start.

This managed to startled everyone. They all though that Kol was just too shocked from losing his lover, and was unable to accept reality.

They never thought that she would actually wake up like they did.

Astrid was still confused by the situation, so Kol held her waist to help her get up.

"Kol, what happened? My neck hurts!", she asked, trying to understand the situation.

"It's ok baby. You're fine! Everything will clear up.", Kol spoke calmly.

"Father, come here and help me.", Kol asked Mikael.

"What is it Kol?", he asked, but with as many times as the two had fought together on battlefields, Mikael didn't suspect a thing and still walked forward to help Kol.

"What do you need...", Mikael asked, but before he could complete his sentence, "AAH!", Kol grabbed Mikael's shirt to pull him closer, and bit into his neck, not minding his struggle.

"Augh!", as Mikael choked on his own blood, Kol pushed his bleeding neck towards Astrid, who had already calmed down and somewhat understood the situation.

Astrid instinctively knew what she needed to do, "Hmm.", she bit into Mikael's neck with her new vampire fangs.

"It's alright! Drink up. You don't have to stop.", Kol spoke to Astrid.

And she wasn't going to stop either.

Astrid didn't fight back before because she knew it was useless, plus she didn't understand the real situation. On top of that, Mikael being Kol's father, she decided to first watch how everything played out.

But now that she had figured it out, she held a grudge against Mikael for trying to kill her.

Astrid took this opportunity to avenge herself. She ruthlessly sucked in all of Mikael's blood, thereby killing him.

Of course, Mikael had already taken the doppelgänger's blood that contained the 'immortality spell', so he only died for the ritual. Which meant that he'd come back to life as a transitioning vampire. An original vampire. Stronger than ever.

But even so, this must still be a traumatic experience for him. Perhaps he would learn a lesson from this.

It doesn't matter what Astrid looks like now, as she will be changing bodies in later chapters.
