What the Heck Kevin!

Eva left Mia's house. Mia came to the hall and sat on the couch. She was lost in her thoughts when Ida burst into her house. Panting heavily, she bent over and placed her hands on her knees to catch some air.

Mia glanced at her and got an idea about why Ida paid her a visit like this. Mia knew Ida too well and she could tell exactly what's in Ida's head with just a single glance.

"I found- the whereabouts of Samuel", Ida spoke while trying to catch her breath.

"He is-currently hospitalized."

"I have his-location"

"Let's go then. Why are we wasting our time?" Mia got up from the couch.

"What?" Ida's eyes widened as she wanted to relax for a bit. Mia didn't pay any attention to her and walked out of the place straight away.

"Hey wait for me!" Ida ran to catch up with her.

---------------------------------------------

Mia and Ida were standing at the entrance of the gigantic hospital. It appeared more of a shopping mall rather than a hospital. Mia glanced over the security arrangements in the place. She turned to Ida who was covering her face with a mask.

"You know what to do now" she uttered in her cold tone. Ida nodded and slowly placed her hand in her denim's pocket. She pressed a button of a device and then pulled back her hand. "It's done" she informed Mia who was waiting for her. "Good. Wait here for my next order." She commanded. Ida firmly nodded.

Mia heads to the reception which was quite busy. "Can you tell me where the patient named Samuel is?" She pulled out her straight face.

"Sure Mam. Give me a second please." the receptionist replied in a soft tone.

The receptionist tapped some keys on the keyboard and looked at the screen in front of her. After waiting for half a minute, she suddenly pressed her lips and hit the 'ENTER' key harshly.

"Why is it taking so long?" Mia furrowed her brows and looked down on the receptionist.

"Just a minute Ma'am" the receptionist answered without looking at her.

Another receptionist reached out to her and whispered something in her ear making her brows furrowed in confusion. "But all this was working perfectly till now. What could have happened suddenly?" the receptionist whispered back to another.

"What are you two doing? Take this registration form for my wife quickly, she needs urgent medical attention. I do not have time to waste here." A middle aged man, probably in his thirties, yelled.

"I need the information for my friend too. What's taking so long in that?" Another male in his twenties shouted at the top of his voice.

"Please calm down. This is a hospital. There is some issue with the server. We are trying to resolve it. Give us a minute please." The receptionist urged politely.

"What? How are you gonna take care of the patients when you can't even maintain a damn server!" an old lady complained in her creaky voice.

"It's not like that Ma'am-" the receptionist couldn't finish what she had to say.

"You can't maintain a damn server. I don't want to get treatment here. Give me my money back." The old lady yelled.

"Ma'am please try to understand.-"

"I won't compromise with my health at any cost. I am going from here." The old lady turned to the other people, "You shouldn't risk your lives here. Go back before it's too late".

"You are right. I can't take any risk with my wife. I'll take her from here." the man in his thirties, replied.

"We are going back too" other people at the reception desk called out simultaneously. Mia was silently watching her plan working.

"Sir, Ma'am; Please wait. It's nothing like that. You can trust us." The receptionist urged. Another receptionist whispered something into her ear.

"Those who want any information please come here, those who want to submit the forms please follow Miss Lucy. She will guide you from here." The receptionist humbly requested.

"No, I am not going to listen to you now." The old lady creaked. The chaos at the desk intensified. There was a lot of whispering, murmuring and yelling at the desk. The security personnel gathered around to help the receptionist handle the situation.

Mia slowly stepped back and left the desk. She looked at Ida who was standing at a little distance. Ida looked back at her and she quickly understood the next step.

Mia headed to the stairs on the right and Ida headed to the stairs on the left. People's phones stopped working. Everyone was left clueless as to what was happening while both the ladies were racing towards their destination at full speed.

They both arrived at the second floor. Ida went across Mia and whispered, "5210". Mia understood the signal and started looking for room number '5210'.

It was easy for her to locate the room. "Now you won't survive this Samuel. This time, no one will help you. This is your last day." Mia smirked proudly at the thought.

Ida came and stood besides Mia. "You stay here. I will go, kill him and be right back", Mia was about to invade the room when Ida grabbed her hand and stopped her. "What?!" Mia scowled with anger.

"You can't do this." Ida murmured. Mia's blood started boiling and anger showed up in her eyes.

"Mia, you have shown your face to the receptionist. You can easily get caught. I am under this mask and no one will recognize me." Ida explained her point efficiently.

Mia took a deep breath to calm her down as she wanted to do this herself. She waited desperately for this day but Ida's argument made sense.

"Ok, you go. I will keep an eye here. Just make a signal when you are done, understood?" Mia instructed. Ida nodded her head and went inside.

She turned to the door to enter the room just when she saw the knob turning. Both Mia and Ida were taken aback. They immediately prepared themselves for any attack coming their way. The door was opening and along with it, the eyes of both Mia and Ida. To their surprise, the door opened revealing a jovial nurse. Her eyes went wide when she saw two extremely young women, of her age, standing in front of her with raised fists.

"Oh! Umm.. Is everything alright Ma'am?" she passed her cheerful smile with a little hesitation.

"Yes. Everything is fine Sister." Ida quickly passed a smile from under her mask. "There you go" Ida cleared the way for the nurse. The nurse bowed and went into the room adjoining to Sam's. Mia looked at Ida and mouthed, "GO". Ida nodded and quickly entered inside.

Two minutes passed, Mia started shaking her legs in anticipation. Suddenly her eyes went to a shadow which was headed her way. "Who is this?" Mia thought to herself. She tried to look at the face of this person.

Her eyes widened when she recognized the person. "Oh No! What is he doing here?" Mia started panicking. Something jogged her mind.

"He is a friend of Samuel"

"He must be here to visit Samuel". She was about to open the door to inform Ida but,

"What are you doing here?" A voice called from behind. Mia was stopped in her tracks. She pressed her eyes tightly, "What the heck Kevin! Why can't you let me finish the job?" She got infuriated.

Kevin was dumbfounded while Mia was spaced out and didn't answer him. "Ahh, I am talking to you" he patted her shoulder bringing her back to her senses. She shook her head and looked at him.

"I came to pay a visit to my friend," Mia said firmly.

"You know Samuel?" his eyes lit up.

"No, her name is Charlie. But I think I am lost. What floor is this exactly?" Mia looked around as if she was lost.

**Phone vibration sound**

Mia looked at her phone's screen and sighed. "There are signals in the phone, that means the work is done" she took a deep breath.

"This is the second floor,"Kevin answered.

"Oh! I had to go to the 4th floor." Mia pulled out her poker face.

"That's okay. Hey, do you know what's going on at the reception? There is a lot of chaos!" Kevin asked.

"Don't know. Don't care" she returned to her cold self. Turning on her heels, she walked away.

Kevin looked at Mia till she was no longer in sight. "This girl is strange!" he said and opened the door. His eyes popped out and blood drained out from the face as soon as he entered the room.

Someone jumped out from the window while Samuel was writhing. Kevin ran towards the window but he couldn't see anybody. He turned back to Samuel and blood drained from his face.

"What the heck!! Doctor… doctor…" he screamed for help and ran outside to bring the doctor.

Trick or treat? Would Kevin be able to save him? Read the next chapter to find out.
