Betrayal?

Victor slams the door behind him, and glares at Leo. He is furious, and he doesn't care if Leo knows it.

"Leo, what the hell are you doing?" Victor says, his voice low and menacing. "Do you have any idea how much trouble you're in?"

"Trouble? What trouble?" Leo says, pretending to be clueless. He knows exactly what Victor is talking about, but he doesn't want to admit it.

"Don't play dumb with me, Leo. I know everything. I know about the attack, I know about the girl, I know about the curse. I know you've been lying to me, to the Peace Faction, to everyone."

Leo feels a pang of guilt, but he tries to hide it. He knows he should have told Victor the truth, but he was afraid of losing his trust, his friendship, his support. He was afraid of losing the Peace Faction, the only thing he cared about besides Mia.

"Victor, calm down. Let me explain. It's not what you think," Leo says, hoping to appease him.

"It's exactly what I think, Leo. You've betrayed us. You've betrayed our cause. You've betrayed me," Victor says, his eyes flashing with anger.

"Victor, please. Listen to me. I haven't betrayed anyone. I'm still loyal to the Peace Faction, to our cause, to you. I'm still working to stop the War Faction, to prevent the war, to save the world. I just… I just found something else along the way. Something I didn't expect. Something I can't explain."

Leo looks at Victor, and hopes he can see the sincerity in his eyes. He hopes he can see the love he feels for Mia, the love that changed his life, the love that made him whole.

"Something else? You mean the girl? The human girl? The cursed girl?" Victor says, spitting out the words. "Don't you realize what she is, Leo? Don't you realize what she means? She's not a blessing, Leo. She's a curse. A curse that will destroy you, destroy us, destroy everything."

Victor steps closer to Leo, and lowers his voice. He speaks with a tone of urgency, of desperation, of warning.

"Leo, you have to let her go. You have to forget about her. You have to break the curse. It's the only way, Leo. The only way to save yourself, to save us, to save the world."
