Chapter Ten: Deathly Stakes

"So, Why exactly did you fight Jeff?" asked Hagakure. "We had a disagreement on the ship two months ago," said Roger. "What was the disagreement about?" asked Jirou. "And you couldn't let it go,and as a result you tried to kill him!" Jirou says angrily as she gets up and slaps him. "I can't,I won't, I refuse to buy any of this shit" Jirou said to Roger as she stormed out of the hospital. As Jirou walked out two men in gray trench coats walked over to the doctor. "Mr.Fitzgerald,Mr.Macpherson,I don't know how to say this but he's currently unstable,the injuries he received is like he got hit with a semi-truck." The doctor said to them as Macpherson thanked the doctor as he walked into the emergency room with Fitz. "Sirs you can't go in there they're currently operating on him" The doctor said as time began to move slowly. "Flashtime" Mac said as he put his hand on his older brother. "Let's go," Mac said as they walked into the operating room. "Shattered ribs,broken arm,three teeth missing,dislocated shoulder,and a damaged right lung," Mac said as he put on a doctor's mask. "I'm going to need an extra set of hands because a procedure like this takes slow and precise placing and cuts," Mac said to FItz as they began to do their own operation on him. Around an hour later they placed each broken and shattered bone back in the right place as they then began to heal at an exponential rate. "Healing factor?" Fitz asked "I didn't know we had that" Mac says as they notice green smoke coming from the cracks of each bone sealing it up."We'll have to ask him about this later but for now i'm glad he's alright,we need to find who did this to him" Mac says as they walk out of the room. "Flashtime ends" Mac says as time begins to flow normally for him again "Hey,do you guys have any idea what happened to him" Mac asks as he walks over to Roger and Hagakure. "Um,see about that,it's a funny story" Hagakure says as Roger confesses "It was me,I did that to him,I'm the one who almost killed him" Roger said to Mac. Mac then walks closer to him. "Haha,funny joke,but what happened to my little brother?" Mac says as he glares at Roger. "It's what I said before,I did it,so whatever you're planning to do to me, go right ahead,I deserve it" Roger says as Mac's face turns from anger to horror. "You're not joking are you" Mac says as rage then fills his eyes and blue electricity crackles all over him. "Wait Mac don't!" Fitz says as Mac grabs Roger as he then runs out of the building faster then he can finish his sentence leaving a blue streak of electricity behind him. We then cut to Jirou sitting outside crying "why,why,why,why him,what did he do to deserve any of this" Jirou says to herself as when she looks up she sees a blue streak of electricity flash down the street. "We need to stop him" Fitz says to Jirou "I'm his oldest brother,I'm assuming you're one of Jeff's friends "I'm his girlfriend,nice to meet you" Jirou says as Fitz shakes her hand. "Well i'm going to need your help in finding my other little brother Mac,he ran off with the guy who did this to Jeff,i can tell he's understandably pissed but i'm worried for what he's about to do"  FItz says as Jirou wipes her tears and help him find Mac. We then cut to Mac as he stops running as he gets to an alleyway "Stop,Mac,i know what you're thinking and don't" Xero says as he was in the area trying to calm down. Mac then vibrates his hand as burning tears fill his eyes. "Why shouldn't I?This piece of shit almost killed my brother,So why shouldn't I?Aren't you angry,don't you want him dead" Mac says as his hand gets closer to Roger's chest. "You think i'm not angry,i'm absolutely livid,but i know that he wouldn't want it.Is this something that Jeff would be proud of you for" Xero says to Mac as Fitz and Jirou catch up with him. "Please don't Mac,I get that your angry and i am too but

 This is not what Jeff would want,This isn't what Mom or Dad would want" FItz says as Mac turns to him, dropping Roger. "Your right,i just" Mac says as tears fill his eyes "I know,it's okay bro,we need to stay with Jeff" FItz says as he hugs him. "Let's go" FItz says as he thanks Jirou for her help leaving her with Xero. "I hope you're happy Roger," Xero says as Roger gets up as he hears that same voice in his head. "Take him out while he's distracted" The voice said to Roger as Roger refused. "You've practically ruined my life in the span of one night,I should've never listened to you in the first place,who even are you" Roger says to the voice. "Um,Roger,who are you talking to?" Xero says as he walks over to Roger and taps his forehead entering his mind. "I was wondering when you'd finally realize it" The voice said as Xero snapped his fingers revealing who was behind it. "All for One eh,So you've been the one feeding these stupid as thoughts into his dumbass head," Xero says as he snaps his fingers forcing All for One out of Roger's head. "Now that that's taken care of," Xero says as he leaves Roger's head. "I'm less angry and more confused on how All for One even got in there and how you didn't notice" Xero says as they all make their way back to the hospital Jeff was at. To their surprise Jeff was there in the reception area with an arm cast waiting for them. "Hey guys,took you long enough" Jeff says as he was sitting with his brothers and Jirou, not even questioning it, ran over to him and hugged him tightly while crying. "Hey,I'm fine now,it's okay" Jeff said as he stood up to face Roger. "I know what you're about to say and  I don't hold anything against you" Jeff says as he sticks his hand out for Roger to shake it. "I'm just hoping nothing ever comes between our friendship like this ever again" Jeff said. Tears come out of Roger's eyes as he hugs Jeff. "I'm so sorry. I don't know why I didn't let it go. i never thought it would come to this,i never wanted this to happen,i just wanted you to feel what i felt" Roger says as Jeff forgives him. "The doctor said with my healing factor my arm should be good in a week,sucks that it's my right arm but it'll be fine" Jeff says as he walks over to Jirou. "I need to talk to you about something personal when we get back," Jeff says to her as she nods her head. Xero then teleports everyone back to the dorms as Jeff waves goodbye to his brothers "Thanks for the help. I noticed what you did after you were done. I really appreciate it" Jeff says as his brothers wave back. "That's what family is for," Fitz says as they begin to go home.
