21 Chapter 21: Training for UA

" Huff huff.... "

As the morning sun begin's to rise showing its magnificent orange hue sunset at the quiet suburb's. Izuku with his green jumpsuit on run's a few miles circling around near his apartment block.

Sweat could be seen falling down on his sideburns but none the less he kept moving without stop. Catnap and Dogday stayed behind Izuku's back with Catnap's tail acting as some sort of sling bag coiling around both Izuku's shoulder's.

Dogday stared at Izuku's phone watching the time as they waited for Izuku to pass there apartment. It didn't take long till the three of them saw the familiar silhouette of a building as Dogday and Catnap cheered at Izuku telling him to go faster.

And with all of Izuku's might he pressed his feet to the ground increadibly hard and ran as fast as he can. The sight of there apartment become clearer and clearer until Izuku finally arrive at there apartment building.

Izuku slowly stopped causing him to be a few feet away from the house before he stop. Dogday and Catnap both look at the time and timer on Izuku's phone as Catnap turn his head to Izuku's catching breathe.

" Four minutes and six second's not bad "

" Huff huff thanks.... Now time for squats! "

" You sure you can handle it? You've been repeating the same run since like 4 a.m. "

" I can handle it besides I'm close.... "

Izuku replied at Dogday's worries as Dogday stare at Catnap who shared the same. But seeing Izuku's eagerness despite being covered by sweat they decided to let him do squats.

After graduation Izuku has been going all out in improving his stamina since it UA is only 10 months reach. He wanted to do his all as he wanted to use his quirk again. 

It has been 10 years since he has used his quirk 

as Izuku has been analyzing his quirk since five. He did wanted to experiment his quirk when he was still 4 years old as Izuku remembered that he used another Allmight action figure to summon a critter.

But his attempt of summoning one has been an increadibly painful, exhuesting and failing attempt as whenever he tried to summoning a critter he would always got hit by an unimaginable amount of headaches and soreness. He even remember that he used to go to the hospital a lot after many failed attempt's.

It was frustrating for him that he couldn't use his quirk for ten years because of the doctors and his mom telling him to not attempt of using his quirk but it did made him realize his quirk's limitation. 

Turn's out his quirk needs a huge amount of stamina and mental fortitude in order for him to use his quirk. So for the past nine years Izuku has been trying so hard to increase his stamina and mentality while balancing both school, his time with his mom and more importantly his cooperation with Catnap and Dogday. 

Izuku has been calculating in several hypothesis and ways for Dogday and Catnap to cooperate in sync alongside him. With Dogday acting as a meat shield for Izuku and Catnap as a crowd controlling assassin that affect's the outcome of the battlefield. 

Though Dogday helped him with his exercise's Catnap is the one critter he works out the most since Catnap's red smoke is his greatest weapon and is immune of it's affect's both Dogday and Izuku aren't. 

Izuku remembered all the breathing exercise's he got from Catnap, Dogday and the internet as his been able to hold his breathe for really long. Though he isn't confident if he could apply his skill of holding his breathe longer in a real fight it was still a valuable skill to use if he wanted to use Catnap's quirk effectively.

" 86...87.... "

" Just a few more squat's you can do it! "

" Yeah! Yawn.... Though I wish that you didn't wake me up it's still early in the morning. "

" Yeah but we still need you to make sure Izuku last your smoke "

" Sigh sometimes I wish that I didn't have my red smoke so I can go to bed. "

" Heh then we wouldn't be able to sleep Catnap? Be careful of what you say. "

" Yeah yeah yeah you don't have to say that every time I complain. "

" Eh What can I say? I don't like jinx's "

" 98....99.. 100! "

Izuku shouted as he took a deep long breath and sat next there apartment building' port. Catnap extended his tail as he reach a water bottle to give to Izuku. 

Izuku accept's as he drank the refreshing water bottle while Catnap and Dogday walk next to him sitting down as Dogday gave Izuku his phone.

" Gulp... Phew.... "

" Have enough? "

" Huff I think so. Though I'm not sure ..... I'm not really confident about this attempt but I think I can handle the pain "

Izuku replied as he holds his water bottle feeling a little nervous. He was about to make another attempt this time as he feels ready. Though the last time he use his quirk it made him bedridden for days. He is slowly getting used to the mental strain from his quirk as each constant attempt he takes the more used he is by the pain.

Though he isn't confident about this attempt he can say for certain that his ready. He rested himself for another minute before standing up to go inside his apartment building alongside Catnap and Dogday.

He open the door to his apartment and walk towards a small toy soccer ball on the table. Izuku was still attached with his Allmight merch since he doesn't want to use them for his quirk's so he decided to buy cheap toys in drift store or toy machines.

Izuku sit down with Catnap and Dogday as they look at the ball with concern's. Dogday and Catnap were pretty nervous about this since they still don't know if Izuku could summon all of playtime co toys. Catnap and Dogday still fear of the day where Izuku summon's a dangarous playtime toy like huggy wuggy or boxy.

So to make sure that Izuku couldn't kill himself during the process they always keep an eye at him at all cost. Constantly being there just incase if he were in trouble. Izuku couldn't help but to worry about the upcoming pain he'll experiencing again but none the less feels ready for it to come.

Izuku took a deep breath and hold's the ball with his two hands. His eyes close as he focus all his attention to the ball.

He tried to summon a critter any critter as that comes to mind and pretty soon it happened.

The painful headache and the soreness rushing in to his body. Izuku kept holding the ball as he could feel the ball's spherical shape change a bit. 

He could feel bumps from all side of the ball as he keep concentrating on it until he felt like it was too overwhelming. Too exhausting to even hold on the ball he drops it off from his hands. Canceling his quirk in the process.

" Drop! "

" Jump jump.... "

" Huff huff...."

" Um.... "

" .... "

Catnap and Dogday look at each other in silence as Izuku was covered by sweat again. He has failed to use his quirk but none the less Catnap and Dogday both congratulated him none the less.

" Good job Izuku you manage to pass at least a few minutes"

" Yeah Soo much shorter now compared to last month "

" Huff I guess.... Sigh there is still work do huh "

" Well.... Yeah.... "

Catnap replied as Izuku couldn't help but to lay down in the couch. His body felt like giving up as after all that exercising all he got is a few minutes of holding his quirk together. 

It didn't made him sad though since he got so close but nonetheless it still dissapointing for him that he couldn't use his quirk after all this time. Both Dogday and Catnap couldn't help but to feel bad for Izuku as they both patted him on the back and said.

" Don't worry you'll eventually get to use your quirk again "

" Yeah so what if you didn't summon one of us. You manage to get this far right? So feel proud about yourself "

" Thanks guys..... That means a lot "

Izuku replied as he turn his head towards the small toy soccer ball. As he couldn't help but to atleast be hopeful that he can still withstand his quirk for a few minutes he couldn't shake the feeling of worry as UA is only about ten months.

He doesn't know if ten months will be enough to summon a critter but none the less he still bring hope to himself. He wanted to do his best to pass in UA so wanting to further increase his chances he'll do anything he can to pass.

" Groan.... "

" Uh damn stomach.... S-sorry Izuku but can we have something to eat? I haven't eaten anything since you woke me up "

" Um sure. I believe mom left some food at the table "

Izuku said as he walks towards the kitchen to get Catnap something to eat. Catnap and Dogday followed him to the kitchen as they took a seat and grab the covered food off the table that Inko left for them.

The clear blue sky eventually befall ftom the city block near Izuku's apartment building. Creating a very warm atmosphere.
