Chapter 40: Final Exams (2)

{3rd Person POV}

"I HAVEN'T STUDIED AT ALL" Denki and Mina said out loud at the same time, but Mina was happy-go-lucky about it and Denki was freaking out.

"WITH THE SPORTS FESTIVAL AND INTERNSHIPS AND EVERYTHING I NEVER STOPPED FOR STUDYING!! " Denki continued his scream.

"Ah ah ah ah" On the other hand Mina just kept an awkward laugh.

"Come on guys, it's not that tough." Jōichirō said.

Hearing that, both of them looked at him and said "You can say that, because you ranked tenth in the midterms!"

Shrugging his shoulders, Jōichirō said "It's easy, you just have to look through the important parts we studied."

"Don't say things like that! I don't even know which are the important parts." Denki said.

Jōichirō shaked his head and started to think 'Anyway, why was that guy following me again? I forgot to ask him too. Damn I should have said 'Hi! I'm Deadpool' instead of going with the Batman theme. Ah, whatever.'

While Jōichirō was thinking about his encounter with Giran, Momo offered to help them in studying for the exams. Jiro, Sero, OJiro asked to be included in that study section, and Momo was unknowingly boasting about herself.

After the morning section, it was lunchtime and all the students went to the cafeteria. Shoto, Momo, Tokoyomi, Jōichirō, Mezō, and Sato sat together to eat their lunch. Adjacent to their seat was Midoriya, Iida, Ochaco, Asui, Koda, and Toru. They were discussing their upcoming exam.

"The content for the test for all the normal subjects is totally within the scope of our lessons, so we can still pull it off somehow. But it's scary that we can't know what will be in the practical test exercise." MIdoriya said.

"Nothing too wild I would think." Iida said while preparing to eat lunch.

"Aizawa-sensei said it'd be an overall summary of what we did this semester." Toru chimed in.

"Yeah, but he didn't tell us anything apart from that." Asui said while thinking about what the exam would be based on.

"He gave us battle trials and rescue trials. And yeah, the rest was almost all basic training." Ochaco said.

"Studying for the test, plus keeping our physical strength in tip top condi--- OWW!!" Before Midoriya could finish what he started someone hit him on the head with their elbow.

"Ah my bad. Your head's so big I ended up whacking you upside it." The boy said.

When Iida saw who it was he asked "Momoma! What do you think you are doing!?"

But his next words stumped Iida ``You lot have encountered the hero killer, I heard! The way you've been basking in the spotlight have only multiplied ever since the sports festival haven't they, Class A? Only the attention you're grabbing isn't out of expectation; the attention you're grabbing is in the form of trouble! Man, it's so scary!! One day we might get wrapped up in the trouble you lot call out of the woodworks, and then we'll get hurt! So scary, I....PHWA!"

"That's not funny. Don't you know what happened to Iida?" An orange haired girl karate chopped Momoma on his neck.

Looking at the twelve students of class A who were listening to the ramblings of Momoma she continued "Sorry about that, class A. This kid's heart is, well... You know how it goes."

"Kendo!" Iida recognised the girl, as she is the representative of Class B.

"Anyway, earlier I heard you say that you didn't know what the end of term test exercise would be. Actually I'm told it'll be like entrance exam, that is a battle simulation fighting against robots." Kendo informed them.

"Wha!? For real? How do you know?" Midoriya asked her.

"I know an upperclassman personally, and asked." She replied.

"Itsnotcheating!ofcourse,itmeans.." Midoriya started his speed mumbling which freaked out Kendo a bit.

"Are you stupid Kendo? You just threw away our hard-won intelligence advantage!! This was our chance to forestall our detested class A.." He was karate chopped by Kendo again, and as she dragged him away she told him "I told you. We don't detest them."

As they left, Joichiro mumbled "That was colorful."

Shoto shot him a look and asked "What was colorful again?"

"Momoma, he's quite the character. Jealousy at its peak." Joichiro said that and continued his lunch.

When it was time to leave home, Momo informed the class about what they heard from the Class B representative.

"What, really? Well if it's just a robot then it'll be a walk in the park." Denki said with stupid face.

"Just be happy because your quirks are hard to adjust to human opponents." Mezō said.

"Yep so with robots we can do like that! Easy as pie!" Mina shouted in excitement.

"Now we just need to get Momo to help us study!" Sero chimed in.

"Who cares if it's people or robots, it's all the same when they're blown away. Walk in the park my ass." Bakugo said as he was leaving.

"You don't need to bother about adjusting, idiot." Then looking at Midoriya he continued "Right, Deku? I dunno if you have come to understand a little how to use a quirk. But you are really trying my goddamn nerves, shitbag."

Then looking at Jpichiro who was chilling his seat while observing them Bakugo said "I might have lost in the sports festival, but by the end of next term we'll see by our grades just who the better man is." Then looking back at Midoriya he said "I'll annihilate you. Leave you in the dust with the gap between us and then I'll fucking murder you."

"Wow!" Joichiro exclaimed, surprising everyone in the class.

Irritated, Bakugo looked at Joichiro and asked "What?"

"Well it's been some time since you said murder someone. I thought you developed another brain cell that started to reason with the two brain cells in your brain. I see that one of them took a neutral stance and the other murdered the reasoning brain cell." Joichiro said while creasing his non-existent beard like a sage.

There was total silence in the class, as they didnt know how to react to that. But that was broken by Denki who started to laugh hysterically.

"PHAHAHAHA."

Bakugo's eye twitched as Denki laughed non stop. Looking at Joichiro he said "I know that you're stronger than me. But I will surpass you."

"Yeah, you go boy. Surpass Your Limits. Right Here. Right Now." Joichiro told Bakugo as he left the class.

[A Week Later]

In the parking area for the U.A. commuter bus, the class A students were lined up and opposite to them stood their teacher.

"Right, the test exercise will begin shortly. Obviously you can fail this test too. So if you want to head to the forest lodge, then we'd better not see any pitiful blunders from you." Aizawa informed them.

"Why so many teachers?" Kyoka asked, while Toru counted the number of teachers.

"I've no doubt you all learned what information you could get from the test beforehand. So I think you already hold a vague notion of what you are to do.." Aizawa said.

"Sure, just like the entrance exam it'll be like a muso game only with robots!!" Denki said out loud in excitement.

But it was all dashed as the Principal appeared from the wrappings around the neck of Aizawa ``Sorry, I'm afraid not!! Due to various reasons, we're changing the contents of the test, starting today."

"What do you mean?" Momo asked.

"Well due to the increase in the villain activities and also the attack against U.A., we concluded that battle trials with robots don't come close to the real world battles. So from now on we will focus on testing more on person-on-person battle activities and emphasizing a teaching environment closer to that of real battle. What that means is, we will have you form pairs to engage in combat with one of these educators here."

"Now, who all you are paired with and which teacher you'll be fighting have already decided. Don't worry, we have considered everything and personally judged how you will be pairing up based on all sorts of things, and we will list the matchups now." Nezu completed his explanation.

"First off, Todoriki with Yaoyorozu as a team against me." Aizwa said, then looking at Midoriya he continued "And Midoriya, you're with Bakugō as a team. As for who your opponent will be...."

"I'M HERE TO OBLIGE!" All Might stood in front of Bakugo and Midoriya while saying that.

After assigning everyone to their teams, Aizawa said "What you will be doing will be explained by the teachers who you are up against. You're to be transported by the campus buses. Time is precious, so get in them promptly."

After they all got in their buses, Joichiro, Tokoyami, Todoroki, Momo Ectoplasm and Aizawa were the only ones remaining. So looking at Aizawa, Joichiro asked "Aizawa sensei, why are there two opponents for us?"

"Tokoyami have a powerful mutant quirk while you have one of the rarest and also powerful emitter quirk. And both of you always finish your fight with brute force or powerful attacks. I belive you know what I mean Saiba." Aizawa said.

"Yeah, I get it." Joichiro replied.

"Good, only your battle trial will take some time as I need to finish with Todoroki and Yaoyoruzu. Now off you go." Aizawa told them, and Joichiro with Tokoyami and Ectoplasm went to the test site in the campus bus.
