MHA: Author of Fate

HONKKK! Just like that, he died. He died from a truck that came out of nowhere like a cliche start to an isekai! After achieving a grand milestone in his pathway to success, fate decided to give him a cruel twist and he dies so unexpectedly that it almost felt unreal, but... But it was real. There's nothing to deny that. He was gonna die, he was gonna die to that truck and was helpless to stop it. His life flashed before his eyes, his orphan days, his school days, his depression and joy, his anger and envy, his oh-so-useless emotions and thoughts popping one by one like countless fireworks ready to illuminate the dark abyss in the sky. Finally, the glaring white light enveloped him and he greeted death, the fate given to him so suddenly, with unending anger, and a vow. A vow to fate that if he were to ever be given a second chance, a chance he knew would take a miracle to come, he would grasp at every straw, grab at every single damn opportunity that he can sniff out from the most putrid hells on Earth, and he'll grab his own fate, his own destiny... his own story, and make it his to write. Follow as a man named Dolian rewrite fate itself, and become the author of his story, for an Author of Fate shall be born. AN: BARS! Now that's a synopsis. Anyways, back to this desolate wasteland called webnovel and stuck with you guys again after my spiritual retreat and living life as a normal high school kid... well as normal as you can get when you still have to stress about writing after dying at school and school requirements and all other bullshit. Besides that, I'm back baby! And I'm still bisexual as fuck, also I'm probably a chaser which is yikes; I'm turning redder by the second! But back to the topic at hand, AOF is gonna be a fun project because Dolian's abilities take some inspiration from LOTM's spectator pathway, but I'll also be giving my own flair and twist to his quirks and powers. Of course, even though it says MHA on the title, it would eventually get removed because this is a multiverse story baby! I'll try and make this story as interesting and as good as I can do, but this is more so for my own growth as a writer because my writing style... kind of sucks. So if you do notice my writing fluctuating differently in different chapters, then there you go. Now that's all said and done, I promise to hold back my urge to write soft BL content and not make another disaster like Telekinesis, and yeah, goodbye~ (The cover art isn't mine and belongs to this awesome artist https://www.artstation.com/artwork/9mKO1y)

Chapter 63 - Dazzling Stars

Ryuji walked out of the bloody room filled with headless corpses and was bathed in crimson blood from head to toe. He indifferently wiped the blood away from his body and walked through the empty hallways with a subtle grin.

After absorbing tens of souls, he managed to raise his soul foundation by a significant margin and increased One for All's growth by a whopping 100%! But, strengthening his soul was an increasingly harder task to do. Later on, he'll need more and more souls to increase the foundation of his soul, and in turn, hasten the growth of One for All and his overall strength.

Ryuji's mind whipped up into a hurricane as thoughts scrambled to make a plan inside his mind. Countless sparks collided as he walked through the silent hallways until he arrived inside a strange room filled with an endless array of cylindrical containers with glowing stars stored inside.

It was like the starry night sky placed inside a single room. It was grand and magnificent, but to Ryuji, it meant a lot more than just its beauty.

He walked with a slow and steady pace, a series of Quirks were already arranged for this very moment. He himself was surprised that he managed to acquire All for One in less than a year, even if it was a weaker version and could only hold up to eight Quirks.

'If things go well, then I won't need to acquire the original All for One and get all the Quirks I need. I already know the underlying problem of having multiple Quirks since the pathway I'll develop would be contaminated by these external abilities, but if I play my cards right, it would be beneficial to me instead!'

He soon arrived in front of four different stars that shone brighter than the rest, albeit one was clearly weaker compared to the other three stars.

Ryuji unhesitatingly stretched out his hand and grabbed the brightest star in front of him. It was a dazzling blue star that emitted a dominating presence, the fabric of space-time around it warped to a visible degree, and strong energy radiated from its glow.

It was a copy of Leader's Quirk, the ability to manipulate Gravity!

Ryuji easily absorbed the Quirk and another star was added to the dazzling space inside his soul.

Colorful tendrils excitedly stretched out of One for All's star and latched onto the blue star, and an endless stream of energy was pumped into the blue star causing it to grow brighter.

Ryuji's eyes flashed with a blue tint for a moment, and his originally golden eyes were now a lot different compared to when he first stepped out of the pitch-black egg.

Around the edges of his eyes, there were hints of black and blue, while in the middle of his eye was a colorful splotch of rainbow. The most dominating color was still the golden glow of his original Quirk.

This phenomenon was a sign that his body is already being influenced by the presence of his new Quirks. Once his body fully changes would mean that he has completely adapted to the presence of his new Quirks.

After assimilating the Quirk, he can feel his mind expand and stretch out, the edges of his fingertips were entangled in a strange fabric that presided all over the physical plane of existence. Gravity swished and bent around him, like a strange fabric that covered him and everything else with its omnipresent existence.

Ryuji enjoyed this newfound experience before he then went on to absorb the other stars.

Next was the orange star, it was a Quirk on the same level as Gravity Manipulation and has been copied numerous times already for the moment that he has been waiting for years.

Crackle!

Bright, colorful electricity crackled out of his skin as the metallic foundation of the room started to tremble the moment he absorbed the orange star into his body. It was another mystical sensation like having a new nose or eyes implanted into your body.

He can sense the electromagnetic spectrum around him. It was everywhere, whether it be light or radiation, it was wondrous and intoxicating.

Ryuji shook his head and dismissed this feeling. It wasn't over yet. He still had two other Quirks to absorb.

The next one was a Quirk that he unexpectedly manage to gain when he first became friends with Izuku. It's a Quirk that he was quite familiar with, especially when Albion Cress, more commonly known as Psy, was his uncle.

It was Telekinesis, a Quirk that can move objects with a simple thought. It originated from Inko Midoriya, Izuku's mother, and Ryuji managed to see the absurd potential that was hidden within this simple-looking Quirk.

The green star flowed through his skin and entered his chest. His eyes gleamed with a green light as the entire room around him shook with the activation of his new Quirk. With his experience of having absorbed three Quirks already, namely One for All, Gravity Manipulation, and Electromagnetic Manipulation, he stabilized his Quirks and fixed the unstable situation.

There was only one Quirk left, a Quirk that was wasted on a certain girl that can't see the bigger picture.

Creation!

Ryuji already deduced the hidden potential this Quirk holds. Instead of transforming Momo's fat cells into other materials, it was actually transforming her stored fat into pure energy which would then power up the Quirk to create matter from nothing! It wasn't a simple transmutation but was a power that was just a level below New Order and One for All in terms of potential if given to the right hands.

And, Ryuji exactly knew what he can do with the aid of this Quirk and all of his other Quirks.

Fwoosh.

The violet star entered his body and One for All once again rooted its colorful tendrils into this new star. An endless stream of energy entered the violet star, causing it to shine brighter than ever as Ryuji's whole body trembled.

His eyes have once again changed, dyed by the colors of black, blue, orange, green, and violet, while the center of his eyes shone in a tiny rainbow light.

He took a deep breath and closed his eyes. His heart thumped loudly as he processed his newfound gains.

Gravity and Electromagnetism; two fundamental forces that govern and uphold the structure of reality. Those two Quirks held vast potential on their own, but when combined, could display horrific might. And with the augmentation given by One for All, one can only begin to imagine just how strong Ryuji is right now.

His skin tingled with a strange sensation as he 'felt' these two concepts all around him. It was a strange feeling that cannot be described in mere words.

'So, this is what it's like to have two fundamental forces right under your grasp.' Ryuji chuckled and his entire body creaked and popped up for a moment before it then returned to normal.

His eyes returned to their normal golden color, but deeper and darker compared to before.

The existence of new Quirks inside his soul caused his Law Seed to grow a bit more, but the formation of his pathway was still a faraway conclusion.

'Maybe I'll reach the peak of Stage Three by the time my Quirk awakens, although I'll still have to do a ridiculous amount of research to deduce the mysteries behind Quirk Awakening before I get to reach that point.'

'But that doesn't mean I cannot rival entities at the peak of Stage Three who have manifested their pathways already. I just need to grow strong enough to be unrivaled, and my Quirk Awakening would then become a matter of time by that point and I could grow stronger without having to fear anyone else.'

Ryuji's eyes shone with endless killing intent, but his mind was as calm as ever.

It wasn't time yet to go wild with his newfound power. At this point in time, he still has numerous resources that he can use from Hidden Order and has an abundant amount of souls he could absorb.

What he needs to do now, for now, is to continue with his plans.

To become the number one hero of Japan and later the world, expand the power of Hidden Order in the dark, and increase his influence.

Of course, plans are meant to change and grow along with the circumstances in life.

It wasn't the same as before when he first arrived in Japan.

He now has All for One, albeit weaker, and could potentially acquire all of the Quirks he'll ever need without having to get the original All for One (which is risky since it's an external power that didn't originally belong to him and can potentially influence his Soul and Origin, two factors which are important to the formation of his own pathway).

And secondly, Yuga Aoyama and Izuku Midoriya are two loyal pawns that are already under his tight grasp. They are practically bound to him with no means to escape.

He already has a copy of two of the Quirks he desired that were on the same level as New Order. This means that, if things go right, then he'll have both the holder of One for All and the holder of All for One as his servants and secretly members of Hidden Order.

Two fists cannot rival four palms.

Having both the original versions of One for All and All for One would indeed give him a power boost, but long term, having two other servants that are just a level below him is much more valuable. He's only one man, eventually, he'll need to either attain unrivaled strength or have external help.

Lastly, and most terrifyingly, there is a high possibility that becoming a pathway entity is not the upper limit. There can be existences at the 5th Stage, the 6th Stage, and even beyond.

There are unspeakable horrors that live in the multiverse, entities that can destroy entire realities in the blink of an eye.

Ryuji wasn't just aiming to become the strongest in this world. He wants to grow more and more and reach a level beyond a pathway entity.

He knew that the multiverse existed as he himself belonged to another reality originally before suddenly reincarnating into this world as Dolian Tatori.

He's an insignificant ant to the true powerhouses that lurked in the unknown.

He doesn't know what would happen in the future if he were to become a pathway entity.

Would he discover more threatening existences that can end his life? Other pathway entities that are out to kill him?

But, if he were to have two other godlike existences under him as his brainwashed servants, then his safety was more assured.

Risk and gain go hand in hand. If he doesn't have the guts to take risks, then he wouldn't have reached this point in the first place.

'Number one hero… I previously needed to have that since I expected to only acquire All for One way later, but times have changed. My potential has skyrocketed through the roof, and absorbing souls would quicken my growth to an extraordinary speed.'

'Hmm, the time is not yet ripe. I need to reach the second level of 3rd Stage and sustain the growth of my Law Seed. By that point, I should have enough strength to take more risks…'

Ryuji's eyes shone as he warped gravity with a wave of his hand.

He then arrived inside a vast white plane, and in front of him stood over a hundred humans unmoving like stone statues.

'But, every plan needs to have a sufficient foundation. Only with enough strength can I execute my plans without fail!' Ryuji stretched out his hand and pressed down on the ground.

SPLAT!

Over a hundred men and women were crushed into meat paste, dying the ground red with scarlet blood and bits of flesh. Ryuji waved his other hand and gathered wailing souls into his palm, absorbing them with an emotionless face.

His body trembled, and his soul foundation once again rose.

'Strength, I need more strength…' His eyes shone with killing intent, and Ryuji disappeared once more as the space around him warped.

AN: This chapter has 2051 words.

If you were perceptive enough in my rant, you would have noticed those bits of english splashed in between the mangled mess of filipino and would have gotten to know some of my plans for Volume 1 in advance, especially the names.

Side note, Volume 2 is probably gonna be in Reverend Insanity and would last around a few hundred chapters, so this novel would really take a while to finish. Like, do I end it in Volume 3?! What the fuck even is the end game by that point because my plans was only gonna end in the Author of Fate, but nope, it became multiversal squared and now I don't know what to do after Volume 2 (I do, but they like have so much bullshit like races of gods, protagonists with deus ex machinas, system holders that can bend reality on a whim, it's just too depressing for me).
