The Beginning of Power

---

I saw Yoichi again; he was watching television. He ignored me, so I went to my mother's room. Upon entering, I noticed that it was composed of a single bed and a wardrobe. The atmosphere felt sad.

Ignoring everything, I sat on the edge of the bed and murmured:

—**Isuma:** Where would she keep the important papers?

I finished murmuring and began searching the wardrobe. After a while, I found a yellow folder and a small, thick brown notebook.

I sat back down on the edge of the bed. First, I looked at the folder and opened it. As I did, I saw that it contained several papers. I spread them out on the bed and started going through them. The first documents were the birth certificates of my mother, Yoichi, and me. Among the other papers, I found marriage and divorce certificates.

There were the names of my mother's parents: **Ryuji Hoshizaki** and **Aiko Hoshizaki**. My mother's name was **Reiko Hoshizaki**. The man she married was **Kaito Shimura**, son of **Haruto** and **Yumi Shimura**.

I wondered if that man could be my father, but I set the doubt aside. I gathered the papers and continued examining the notebook. Upon opening it, I found names of people, phone numbers, and places listed.

I looked at the pages and murmured:

—**Isuma:** Strange...

I put away the notebook and the folder, got up from the bed, and left the room. As I did, I saw that Yoichi was still watching "Captain Hero" on television. I approached him and said:

—**Isuma:** Brother, we're not going to school tomorrow.

Without taking his eyes off the screen, he responded:

—**Yoichi:** Okay, brother.

I sat down on the sofa and waited. After a moment, a system notification appeared: **50% of the system update**. The notification disappeared, and Yoichi spoke to me:

—**Yoichi:** What are we going to do now?

I looked at him while the television continued playing and said:

—**Isuma:** Brother, I'll handle it. But if you want to know, I'll tell you.

Yoichi nodded, and I continued:

—**Isuma:** One of us will have to work full-time, and that will be me while you continue studying. I won't tell you what the job is, but it was given to me by the man I called.

Yoichi stroked his chin and said:

—**Yoichi:** Understood, brother. But do you think you'll be able to pay for the apartment and everything else?

Without hesitation and knowing about the system money, I replied:

—**Isuma:** Yes, brother, I'll manage. But speaking of other things, why don't you go take a shower?

Yoichi nodded and got up from the floor to go to the bathroom.

Seeing the television still on, I got up from the sofa and changed the channel to the news.

**News:**

**Presenter:** **Breaking News:**

It's official, ladies and gentlemen. The world has taken a dark and dangerous turn in its relationship with people who possess the mutant gene, known in recent years as *Quirks* or powers. On a day that will go down in history, tensions between those with Quirks and those without them have reached a critical point.

The situation escalated when individuals with Quirks responded with violence, leaving 20 Quirkless people dead in an act of retaliation. This tragic response only fanned the flames of conflict, leading to a counterreaction in which 10 people with Quirks, most of them with visible mutations, were brutally murdered.

The conflict is not limited to a single country. In China, the situation has rapidly devolved into an open civil war between Quirk holders and non-holders. Early estimates indicate at least 45 deaths on both sides, in a confrontation that threatens to plunge the country into total chaos.

This tragic day marks a turning point in modern history. While world leaders try to contain the situation, the reality is that society is more divided than ever. The international community watches with concern as the coexistence between people with Quirks and those without them crumbles before our eyes.

Are we witnessing the beginning of a global conflict between those with extraordinary abilities and those who fear their power? The future of this new era is uncertain, but one thing is clear: the world as we knew it has changed forever...

I got up from the sofa, turned off the television, and headed to my room. As I did, I murmured:

—**Isuma:** This is the beginning of my life as the feared All For One, and also of gaining power...
