Chapter 39

" Why?!! Why are we being tortured?!!"

Class 1-B stared at class 1-A, who was already in the middle of training. They looked at the torture...

Axel was currently away from everyone else as he stared at the targets in front of him. He had a cart full of baseballs next to him as he gathered the ones he had already shot before.

Staring at the targets, Axel created an automatic baseball pitcher with his quirk. The baseball pitcher was made with multiple barriers so that he can function the same way as a real one.

The more complicated his barrier structures are, the more stamina is used. So to train Axel decided to replicate machines with his quirk and use them to train his quirk.

He filled his barrier-made baseball pitcher and started firing at the targets one by one in rapid succession. After each shot, he would make adjustments to his barriers to make it better and repeat the process over and over.

When he was close to using all his stamina, he would stop and take a break for a few minutes to recharge before going at it again. He didn't want to run out of stamina so he would be forced to go to sleep to do his quirks limitation.

After that, Axel started training with his Susanoo, stage 2. With an open space and permission to get destructive, this was the best place to train.

Activating stage 2, Axel used a stopwatch to time himself on how fast he can make stage 2 Susanoo.

' 3 seconds. That's too slow. I need to be faster. '

Deactivating stage 2, Axel started to repeat the process of making stage 2 from scratch over and over till he could make it in fewer seconds.

" God, I'm beat!! " Mina yelled as she laid on her back.

" Same. That was torture. " Kirishima said.

" Hey it can't be worse, besides it's dinner time, we can have food. " Sero said.

"You'll be making your own food. " Aizawa said.

Minds have been shattered. The damage was too much as many students fell to their knees as their saliva dripped from their mouths and their eyes rolled to the back of their heads.

Those students are dead.

Hey, you can't blame me. This is much better than the original. Besides, the people who die will be the forgotten Mha characters who don't get enough screen time.

By keeping the characters that have had the most screen time, the show will still go on. It will be like nothing ever changed. Let's be honest, you won't use any of the other side characters, like with Hagakure in the exam arc. She won't be used anymore so everything that happened then was pointless.

" You'll be making your own food. " Aizawa said.

" What?!! " Most of them yelled in anguish. They were already tired from training. They didn't want to make their own food.

After a few minutes of complaining, they got to work. Monama looked at Bakugou and wanted to do a harmless prank.

So he mixed a ton of chili powder into Bakugous curry and had Kirishima give Bakugou a cup full of extra spicy hot sauce.

Bakugou sat down to eat his curry as he lifted the spoon to his mouth.

' Yes. Yes. Almost there. ' Monama thought as he looked at Bakugou.

Bakugou put the curry in his mouth and started to eat the curry. Monama watched, smirking evilly inside his head as Bakugous eyes widened.

" Holy shit, this is good. " Bakugou said.

' What? 'Monama thought.

' Whhhaaatt?!! " Monama thought as he watched Bakugou stuff his face with curry. Monama's jaw dropped in shock as Bakugou then gulped the entire cup of hot sauce as well.

" Damn. That was some good fucking food. I need more. " Bakugou said as he got up from his seat, not caring about the stunned Monama whose jaw was still dropped.

Day 2 of the training camp. It was the same as the first. Just another day of torture, filled with the screams of multiple children, breaking their bodies by overusing their superpowers. Just another day at UA.

Axel walked along a path on the side of a cliff. The others were getting ready for the eat of courage that would occur in 2 hours.

Axel stopped as he looked at the child who was staring at him.

" Why are you here? Did the broccoli send you to convince me to hang out with you wannabe heroes? " Kota said as he closed his eyes.

" If so you're wasting your time. " Kota said as opened his eyes.

His eyes widened as Axel was no longer in front of him.

' Where did he go? ' Kota thought as he looked around, only to stop as he saw Axel, laying on his back to look at the night sky.

Confused but also curious as to why Axel was here, he walked up to Axel. Axel could hear Kotas footsteps but decided to just look at the sky.

It was very relaxing.

10/10 view.

Silence rained over the both of them as neither said anything to each other. Kota had enough silence so he just decided to ask.

" Why are you here? " He asked.

Axel looked at him for a moment before answering...

" I needed a place to relax. This is a good spot. " Axel said.

" Yeah. It is a good view. " Kota said, agreeing with Axel.

" Hey, why are you people becoming heroes? There's no point in it. You are just trying to improve your quirk for what? It's just pathetic. " Kota said with anger and resentment in his voice.

" I see. " Axel said as he got up and reached into his pockets. Kota looked at him as Axel handed him a Snickers.

" Eat it. You aren't you when you're hungry. " Axel said.

Kota made a comical face before staring at Axel.

" Did you just quote the snickers catchphrase? " Kota asked.

" Yes. " Axel said.

Kota looked at him with a blank face at Axel's use of the catchphrase. He looked at the snickers and opened it to start eating.

He ate pretty quickly since he didn't have dinner. Axel just looked forward, enjoying the nice breeze that brushed against his face.

" Thanks. That joke was terrible by the way. " Kota said.

" No problem. " Axel said with a small smile. He was surprised that Kota ate the snickers.

" Hey, what's your name? " Kota asked.

" Axel. What's yours? "

" Kota. Axel, why do you want to become a hero? " Kota asked. Kota was surprised as the words came out of his mouth. To him, Axel wasn't different from the others yet the words rolled off his tongue before he could stop it.

" It was just to answer a question. " Axel said.

" A question? That's all. You would be a hero just for a question? " Kota said in complete shock.

" Yep. " Axel said not really caring about Kotas reaction.

" That's even more pathetic than the others. " Kota said as he looked at the ground.

" Why risk your life for an answer that you may never find? " Kota asked.

" Simple. It was my choice to do so. " Axel said as Kota looked at Axel.

" But that's stupid. Your choice would get you killed. It isn't worth it? " Kota said as his voice got louder.

" Maybe it is or maybe it isn't. " Axel said.

Kota just stared at Axel who looked like he didn't even care about his own death. Kota couldn't understand why? He could understand fame, money, or other things but why risk your life for a question?

It sounds so stupid. Even more stupid than the other reasons.

He turned around and stopped looking at Axel. He just basked in the silence. He couldn't understand why Axel would do that. Was that question really worth his own life?

Both of them enjoyed the silence before Axel had to leave. The test of courage was starting soon and he didn't want to get nagged by his friends for showing up late.
