Chapter 48: Return To School

Due to the attack on the USJ the students were all given a day off to relax and recover. Hitomi doesn't do much that day, mostly rests and reads while chatting in the girl's chat

The day after that Hitomi is walking up towards UA with Toru by her side after meeting up at the station

"How d'you think everyone is doing?" Toru has her arm linked with Hitomi's as they walk "Obviously we were talking with the girls over the day off but... I mean we can't see how they're really doing..."

"I'm sure everyone is fine..." She takes out her phone and shows Toru the screen "The reports said only three of us had any proper injuries"

"Huh!? Where did you get the incident reports!?" She releases Hitomi's arm and grabs the phone

Hitomi laughs "I asked Mr Aizawa for them, I said as Class Rep I should know what happened to my classmates"

"Mr Aizawa is awake!? Is he ok!? Wait..." She looks away from the phone and stares at Hitomi "He bought that Class Rep bit?"

"Yes he's awake, I... Wouldn't say ok and Naaaah, he just said" She makes her voice more monotone "If I let you have the reports will you leave me alone?"

Toru laughs and hands the phone back "That does sound like Mr Aizawa"

"The words or the impression?" She takes the phone back and folds her arms

"Hmmm..." Toru taps her chin... "The words, the impression was terrible" she grins

"Oh you bully!" She whacks Toru's arm!

"Ow! Abuse!" She holds her arm "I think it's broken, you savage"

Hitomi raises an eyebrow "Have you been taking dramatic lessons with Mina?"

"Excuse me!?" They both look to see Mina stood in front of them with her hands on her hips "My dramaticness is completely natural thank you very much"

Toru waves "Hi Mina! How was your day off?"

"It was chill, I did like... Nothing all day!" She comes forward and pulls both girls into a single hug "I was worried about you guys though..."

"I said I was fine in the chat..." Hitomi returns the hug with her free arm

Toru raises an eyebrow 'Didn't we just say how the other girls could say they're fine but not really be fine?' she raises a hand "I'm good too!"

Mina let's them go and looks at Hitomi "I saw you get carried out with blood all over your front..."

Hitomi smiles and rests her hands on Mina's shoulders "Just a really bad nose bleed... I promise"

"Ok... Ok I believe you..." Mina smiles and nods "Ok!" She punches high in the air "Let's go to class!"

Hitomi chuckles "Students enthusiastic about going to class... Only at UA"

The trio begin to walk again to head to class, Mina ends up in the front and behind her Toru hesitantly reaches for Hitomi's hand... Hitomi noticing this smiles and confidently takes her hand

Toru blushes and smiles at Hitomi... And Hitomi smiles right back, squeezing Toru's hand as well

"So! Who d'you think will be teaching homeroom today?" Mina spins to face them and starts walking backwards "I think it might be Pres-" she eyes their hands, Toru's participation in the hand holding obvious by her sleeve position "Ohhhh? What do we have here?"

Toru and Hitomi look at each other... Then nod in sync

Hitomi faces Mina "Mina, you're the first classmate we've told... And we don't wanna spread it far and wide! Keep it casual news"

Mina nods eagerly while clenching her fists in front of her in anticipation

Hitomi continues "Me and Toru are officially a couple"

Mina squeals and jumps at them! Pulling them both into a life threateningly tight hug! "That's totally awesome you guys!!"

"Guuuuh...! Mi... na... Throat... Breathe... Need... Uhh...!" Toru manages to choke out as she dies

"Please... Mercy..." Hitomi is also getting crushed, her snakes valiantly licky tickling Mina in an attempt to save her

Mina laughs and let's them go "Sorry! I'm just happy for you two" she hops away and pulls out her phone "Now say cheese!"

Both girls are still reeling from the strangulation soooo it's not not the best picture

Hitomi coughs! "Wah...? What picture... For?" She rubs her throat

"First class couple!" She holds up her phone in one hand and a peace sign with the other "I AM the Class Historian riiiiight?"

"Ugh please take a better picture...! I look terrible in that one...!" Toru claps her hands together in prayer "Please Mina!"

"Fine fine fiiiiine" she stands properly and holds up her phone "Strike that pose ladies!"

Toru looks up at Hitomi "Umm... W-what pose should we do...?"

"How about... This?" She positions Toru facing the camera then snakes around behind her and holds her around the waist while resting her chin on the shorter girl's shoulder

Toru squeaks in surprise "Th-that's good!" She rests her hands on top of Hitomi's on her stomach

Both girls smile warmly and Mina snaps the picture "Beauuuutiful! That's a keeper" she taps away on her phone and in a few moments both Hitomi and Toru's phones ding with notifications

They both quickly look to see an update in the girl chat!

=PinkNHorny: Girls! Let me present Class 1-A's first and most totally adorable couple! I dub thee Hitoru!=

Underneath the message is the picture Mina just took

Hitomi gasps! "Mina! I said no spreading the word!"

"Right right right!" She types and speaks as she does "Do, NOT, blab, about, it, keep, it, quiet, girls. There! All good" she gives them a thumbs up

Hitomi facepalms "Minaaaa..."

Their phones start dinging again and they look at the chat

=PinkNHorny: Do NOT blab about it! Keep it quiet girls!

Uravity: Oh my gosh really!? That's so cute! <3

HardRocker: Cool :P you two didn't waste any time huh? I'll keep it on the down low don't worry

Ribbit: I knew it would happen sooner or later. Congrats.

Yaoyorozu: Congratulations to you both! *claps* Does this union require a gift? What would you like?=

Toru stares at her phone "Awww... They're so sweet..." She starts typing away replies

"Mina... You took a great picture so you'll get to live" Hitomi nods as if she's come to a wise decision and then focuses on saving the picture as her home screen

"Get to live!? Have YOU been taking crazy lessons with Bakugo?" Mina folds her arms and sticks her tongue out at Hitomi

"Excuse me!?" She rests her hands on her hips "My craziness is completely natural thank you very much" she smirks

Mina snorts and nods "You win Class Rep"

"Thank you Class Historian" she siezes Toru's hand again and they make their way to class

They enter to find everyone already there and mingling around the room

Kirishima turns to look as he hears the door open "Hey it's the Class Rep!"

The majority of the students look over and Hitomi freezes in place "Uhhh... It is indeed I the Class Rep?" They start to applaud! "Huh!?"

Tenya stands and shoots his arm into the air "Glad to see you have recovered Class Representative!"

Hitoshi comes forward with his arms folded "Kirishima was telling us how you put your life on the line to save All Might and defeat... Nomu was it?" He narrows his eyes as he glares at her "Pretty interesting story huh? Something a best friend should be told about way sooner"

"Ha... Yeah... About that..." She scratches her cheek as Hitoshi's glare intensifes

"Hey everyone!" Toru jumps between the two of them and spreads her arms "Did you watch the news last night?"

There are multiple nods and "Yeah"s around the room

"It was so cool seeing all of you guys on the screen! It was like I knew a bunch of celebrities" she struts like she's walking the red carpet and poses for imaginary paparazzi and fans

Hitoshi raises an eyebrow "You know the teachers don't you? They're famous" he thinks for a moment "Well... Most of em"

"Ohhhh yeah..." She knocks the side of her head "Oopsie?"

Kaminari rests his hands behind his head and leans back in his chair "We're totally big deals! Those news channels love us, we really are basically celebrities"

Kirishima looks at him a bit surprised "Yeah it's kinda crazy right? We didn't really do anything"

Kyoka, who's been twirling her wire ear lobes, waves a dismissive hand "Get over yourselves, the hero course that pumps out pros was attacked and that's what they care about"

"Yes yes well" Hitomi goes over, causing Kaminari to whimper although that goes unnoticed "What WE should care about is that everybodys ok" she looks at Kirishima "Kirishima, how's your chest injury?"

Kyoka groans and drops her head to her desktop "Doooon't... We just got him to shut up about it..."

Kirishima grins "Oh it's epic and super manly!" Without any shame he quickly unbuttons his shirt, yanks his tie to the side and pulls his shirt open to reveal his bare chest "Check it!"

Hitomi "Checks it" and what it is, is a large scar of a jagged handprint in the middle of his chest

"Wow..." She bows... "I know you got that trying to help me... I'm sorry..."

He chuckles and starts buttoning his shirt again "Nah don't worry about it, I'd do it again in a heart beat... I only wish I'd got the guy... Still Hagakure managed to lay him out pretty good!"

"Speakin' of gettin' bad guys" Sato sits up from his desk "Watchin' you stare down that bird thing was pretty awesome" he gives her a thumbs up! "Even All Might had your back"

Tokoyami joins the conversation with a nod "Yes, from what I heard your willpower is truly a thing of wonder Class Rep"

"Awwww you guys... Sayin' all that nice stuff 'bout me" Hitomi chuckles and blushes just a little... "I might get embarrassed" An alarm starts going off on her phone and she quickly silences it "Ok, homerooms about to start everyone!" She makes her way to her desk and sits down

Midoriya turns to her "H-hey... Welcome back Class Rep"

"It's not like I was gone any longer than the rest of the class Midoriya" she chuckles "But thank you all the same" she glances at his hand and wiggles her fingers "How's the hand?"

"Ah? O-oh good! It's good... Thanks for asking..." He looks at his hand... "It coulda been much worse..."

"Be glad it wasn't... And use this as even more motivation to get a handle on your overwhelming power and how best to use it" she smiles at him "I have faith in you"

"R-really...? Thank you so much Sekizō... I won't let you down!" He clenches his fist!

"It's yourself you shouldn't let down most Midoriya" she chuckles "And please, call me Hitomi, if you ever wanna discuss your Quirk just lemme know" she gives him a thumbs up

Midoriya nods firmly "I will! A-and you can call me Izuku... I-if you want... O-or Deku if you prefer..."

"I'll take you up on the that offer IZUKU" as she says this the door slides open 'Ha! Knew he'd turn up'

The fully mummified form of Mr Aizawa, with both his arms in slings, slowly wobbles into the room "Morning class"
