Chapter 94:- Canon Starts

"I stand not to destroy, but to reshape. This twisted hero game deserves a new player." - Light Yagami (Death Note)

Canon Starts

[Timeline:- 16th Feb, 10 days before Entrance Exam for UA.]

It was 16th Feb, exactly 10 days to the Entrance Exam for UA, and Izuku was waiting patiently for the entrance exam, it was time to destroy the heroes from the inside.

Izuku had an evil yet satisfied grin on his face.

There were two reasons for that.

His evil smile signified the torment he was going to make the heroes feel, destroy them from the inside out, create strife between heroes, and turn heroes against other heroes just like Baron Zemo did with the Avengers.

And he had some pretty nasty shit and dirt gathered on many heroes working there, which they tried their best to hide, but sadly Izuku got his hands on them and he was going to put it to good use.

He was going to cause Chaos after which they wouldn't be able to trust even themselves.

While this was the reason behind his evil grin, he had a satisfied grin because of two things, first being his revenge was going well, heroes were getting destroyed left and right, people slowly started losing their faith in heroes and police, a seed of doubt was planted and people wanted answers which no one was able to give them.

Small sections of people were very dissatisfied, they wanted to take up vigilantism, however, they were stopped from doing this by the heroes who practically begged them not to.

Luckily for heroes, the chaos wasn't that well reached, many people didn't know about it throughout Japan, and HPSC was able to calm it down, or let's say Izuku didn't bother broadcasting it throughout Japan, he wanted the chaos to spread like slow poison and make sure they can't rest even for a single minute.

And the amount of chaos, the League and he had caused in the last 3 months was more than enough, plus if they continued like this attacking again and again in near intervals, then there was a risk of heroes finding out about the pattern followed by them. They could anticipate the league's next move, although Izuku could make sure not to let the league get caught but why let them even realize a single thing about them?

He was pleased with how things were going and the second reason he was satisfied was because yesterday night Maki confessed her love for him, and they sealed the deal with a kiss as they all slept together feeling they reached the next level of love.

And just like that the 10 days were spent happily atleast for the League of Villains and Izuku and company.

And now came the day of the UA entrance exam. 26th February, Izuku stood over his apartment windows looking down at the UA High, which had a sense of tension around it, as vans and trucks filled with various things that would be required for today's entrance exam.

Both Izuku and Maki were excited for the entrance exam, well not the innocent excitement that would be shown by kids, it was meaningful one, atleast for Izuku that is.

He was excited to see the kinds of reform they have brought in, in regards to the chaos caused by Izuku in the last month. While Maki actually didn't care about it much, as all she wanted was to stay with Izuku no matter what, had Izuku not been going to UA, then she wouldn't bother giving UA a second look, as she didn't really care about UA that much.

While Kaina wished to join UA as well, sadly there weren't that many vacancies in UA along with the fact that sending her to UA could be a very risky move, and she could run the risk of getting exposed, which could threaten her life, which was a risk far too big for him to take, and a risk that he would never want to put Kaina into, so after a long discussion Kaina understood why she shouldn't join UA, as the tide was against the Heroes, and they could actually use anything they can get to clear their name, that could also mean, catching Kaina alive or killing her just to prove police and pro heroes aren't useless.

With one last look at UA, Izuku went to prepare for the entrance exam.

The air crackled with nervous anticipation as dawn kissed the metallic dome of UA High. This year, the hero wannabes bore not just nervous sweat, but the weight of a revolutionized exam. UA, the cradle of heroes, had shed its old skin, responding to a society reeling from whispers of corruption and whispers of doubt about heroes born of privilege, and the chaos-filled year that they had gone through.

The special recommendation exams, once accessible only to a select few handpicked by seasoned heroes, now beckoned with the promise of a fairer field, a field where quirk and resilience, not family name or connections, would be the sole currency.

Since the Izuku incident occurred, UA decided to abolish the special recommendation exams that were given by kids with promising quirks that were recommended by pro heroes or big shots of the society, well, to be honest, they actually didn't have a choice, as a certain white-haired woman who had taken the matter in her hands, and made sure to put lots of pressure onto them, as a sword was dangling over their heads, and that was All Might's neglect, and if by chance they allowed Kazuki to let be given the special exam, they were sure, she would go unhinged and reveal everything that had happened in the Yagi household that day.

I mean who would have thought that she had recorded the whole meeting that day, not just audio, but video as well, and that too in HD quality, and they knew for sure that if that clip got leaked then Japan would see chaos unprecedented in the whole of Japanese history, that day they realized, what true madness in love is, so they had no choice but to comply, plus Nezu actually was pleased with it secretly, as he didn't want humans to get any special privileges, and had a grudge against them afterall he wasn't called Rat Satan just like that.

So that is why this time there were no special recommendation exams reserved for anyone, everyone had to take the regular entrance exam with everyone, and no special treatment was given to anyone,

These were the changes visibly made by UA, which Izuku got his hand at after hacking the UA database.

This year, all aspirants, fledgling heroes born in poverty or prodigies honed in obscurity, faced the same crucible. The playground was leveled, the robots banished. In their place, a labyrinth of digital landscapes, ethical quandaries, and live simulations pulsated within the dome, waiting to devour hopeful dreams or ignite heroic destinies.

The first stage, named "Nexus," plunged the students into a virtual reality cityscape ravaged by a digital villain. No longer a mere test of quirk potency, Nexus demanded resourcefulness, teamwork, and strategic thinking. Rescue bots choked by simulated rubble, virtual flames licked at crumbling buildings, and panicked avatars cried for help. To navigate this chaos, candidates couldn't simply blast their way through; they had to cooperate, improvise, and prioritize.

Yet, Nexus was just the prologue. Stage two, dubbed "Morality Maze," presented a series of ethical dilemmas in augmented reality. A runaway train threatened civilians, but diverting it meant sacrificing another group. A hostage situation unfolded, pushing the limits of negotiation and the boundaries of lethal force. Would they choose the "heroic" path, even if it meant sacrificing lives? Or would they bend the rules, embracing pragmatism and the murky shades of real-world heroics?

The exam wasn't just about raw power; it was about uncovering the heroes within, the ones who could make tough choices, think on their feet, and prioritize the greater good, even when faced with impossible odds. It aimed to find not just the strongest quirks, but the strongest hearts, the minds capable of navigating the moral minefield of hero work.

And after clearing these two exams was the physical training, to see whether they can control their quirk or not, and if they can, then what is the extent of it, and how well can they control their emotions as during critical moments, a single slip in emotion, lost control over their quirk can cause many casualties.

UA had transformed its entrance exam, not just in form, but in spirit. It sought not heroes crafted in the mold of the familiar, but heroes forged in the vessel of the unforeseen, where resilience, adaptability, and ethical clarity were the true measure of potential.

The path ahead was still fraught with uncertainties, but for the first time in a long time, the landscape of heroics felt…open.

Open to anyone, not just the privileged few, open to innovation, and open to the unexpected heroes waiting to be unearthed from the shadows.

And in that openness, nestled between the nervous gasps and hopeful smiles, flickered a tiny ember of hope, a promise that the future of heroes, much like the new UA entrance exam, would be shaped not by the past, but by the unforeseen.

Totally unaware that the past was coming to haunt them, and the question to ask was, "Is UA ready to face someone who's born out of their own mistakes?"
