The Fateful Day

'So it's finally here..' Izuku thought as he and his mom are currently walking to the doctors office. The office itself is only a block away from their currently position. All they need to do is wait for the cross walk to go green so they can cross the street and they'll be there in 30 steps flat.

"Izu, dear remember to be on your best behavior. Please be respectful and follow any instructions from the doctor. That's the quickest way for us to get done with this doctors visit so we can get some ice cream!" Instructed Inko with a warm smile.

Looking at her smile, Izuku couldn't help but respond with a smile of his own. Her smile always warms his heart. The power of a mother's affection is unmatched. One could never replace their mother. Not in a million years.

The cross walk turns green, and we make our rapid approach to the doctors office. Once we get inside and walk towards the check in desk. Once we are at the desk, the receptionist turns from her computer and gives us her full attention.

"Good morning you guys. Are you checking?" asked the receptionist.

"Yes, that's right. My name is Inko Midoriya and-"Quickly points down at her son. "This is Izuku Midoriya."

"Ah, there you are. I see you on the schedule." Takes a quick glance at the schedule. "A quirk assessment, huh. Ok go ahead and wait in the waiting room and a doctor will be right with you."

Walking over to the waiting room and taking a seat. Sitting right next to each other. Inko turns her head towards her son. "Are you excited Izu?" She asked.

"Oh, uh yea." Responded Izuku while fidgeting with his clothes.

Inko raises an eyebrow at her son. Wondering what got her son acting this way.

"Is everything ok?" Inko asks with a slightly worried tone.

"U-uh y-yeah." Izuku is now avoiding eye contact with Inko.

Before Inko can further question Izuku, the doctor finally makes an appearance. Making Izuku sweat a little more.

"Midoriya!" The doctor shouts into the room. Izuku gets up from his chair faster than normal, Inko takes note of this. Following her son's lead, she gets up as well.

"Please follow me," said the doctor with a dead voice. A little creeped out they began walking down the hallway behind the doctor.

Izuku looks around the hall and sees numerous doors going along on both sides of the hall. Each door was open so he could peek into the room. Each room was fitted with a counter, cabinets, a sink, a chair. And a piece of healthcare furniture that sits in the middle of the room. The floors are all tan square tiles with the wood that make up the counter tops and cabinets of a similar color. With the doors and drawers are of a pale, mint green with red trimming. The ceiling is all white.

'How can health care workers not see a problem with these colors? They must be color blind. That will be the only excuse I would take when concerning these ugly colors.' Izuku thinks to himself with disgust.

Then the doctor seemingly randomly picks a room. "Mrs. Midoriya if you would wait in here while I go get your sons foot scanned on the Xray." Explained the doctor. "Foot scans? Why do you need to scan my sons foot to determine his quirk?" She asked to the doctor. "It is just basic procedure." The doctor replies smoothly. Inko just nods and goes into the room to wait.

The doctor turns to Izuku once more. "Please follow me" again with a dead tone.

Leading the way. The doctor walks down the hall and into a big lab. The lab itself was dark, until the doctor flicked the lights on. Once the lights where on Izuku begins to inspect the lab with critical eye as sweat ran down his neck.

The 'lab' only had a metal table in the middle with restraints. Resting at the head of the bed, a metal cap attached to a thick wire leading to a huge generator. Next to the table there's a metal cart with all sorts of medical tools, and is that a handsaw?

'What the hell is this place? Are they going to start experimenting on me? No thanks!' Sweating bullets now, Izuku begins to turn right around and run for the nearest exit. Until two flashes of light stops him in his tracks. Looking back at the doctor that now has a polaroid camera.

Izuku with shaky hands points at the doctor, "What is that?!"

"Its just the latest and greatest Xray polaroid camera, Isn't great!" Beamed the doctor with a goofy grin.

"Why did you bring me here??" Taken back by the doctor's change.

"For an Xray! Didn't I tell you?" Blinding Izuku with an even bigger smile. "Now that I took your Xray, you may return to your mother."

Not wanting to stick around this freak, Izuku quickly runs down out the lab and down the hall. Getting into the room that his mother. He instantly sits down on the medical furniture.

Inko watches Izuku do this but decides to keep it to herself. Moments later the same doctor returns with a large printed out Xray. "Mrs. Midoriya, I've got news regarding your son." Presenting the Xray to Inko the doctor begins his lecture, "As you can see with this image, your son possesses a double joint on his pinkie toe. In short, your son is quirkless." Dropping the bomb on Inko and Izuku without any sympathy. Not giving Inko any time to respond. "This is 100 percent accurate; every quirk doctor does this exact same test, and the results are always correct. Your son is quirkless." Leaving the room in a flash before Inko can even think about retaliating on that bastard.

Now alone in the check up room alone with his mother, Despair slowly creeps into his heart.

'I knew that this was going to happen, I knew that the news would hurt me. But never have I thought that this pain was going to hurt this much.' Culching his chest, just where his heart would be. 'This pain..' Izuku lets out the waterworks, with a silent sob he covers his face with an arm.

Inko immediately turns around to embrace Izuku, letting out her own tears, "Im so sorry Izu, Im so sorry!"

Holding onto his mother as if she was his lifeline. Izuku lets it all out. All the tears and wails. Without a care on who is outside of the room.

Suddenly like a snap of a rubber band pulled to far. Something clicks inside the mind of Izuku, immediately falling unconscious.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Slowly opening his eyes, the first thing he sees is a familiar ceiling. Sitting up, noticing he was in his room on his bed. 'How did I get here? I must have cried myself to sleep. How pathetic.' Izuku berates himself. Thinking back on the painful experience he notices that he himself has changed.

'Thinking back on yesterday. I don't feel anything towards it. Usually when one goes through an emotional memory the memory along with the emotion will stick to that person for life. I remember from the anime deku could clearly remember the doctor visit even after 10 years. It was the first memory to really bring down his confidence in himself. Then the bullying just brought it even lower, and he became that stuttering mess. That doctors visit was the catalyst on making deku a pathetic person.'

'Maybe yesterday was also the final day that the deku side of me comes out. Does this mean that I have full control of this body now?' Getting out of bed and walking towards his full mirror.

He looks at himself in his own eye, "You really are just a quirkless loser, you deku." He talks to his own reflection with hostility. Noting that nothing happened, Izuku begins to smile. "Oh yeah I have full control baby!" He then proceeds to do a victory dance and even does the worm.

Making all this noise in his room, naturally his mother would want to investigate. With a knock on the bedroom door.

Izu, may I come in?" Inko waits for permission.

"Yes, you can mother" Izuku responds with a smile. The result of his good victory dance.

Inko walks into the room with pink eyes, obviously from all the crying she has done. Izuku's smile slips off his face when looking into the eyes of his mother. "Are you ok mom?" Izuku asks naturally.

Inko for her part. Wipes her eyes with her sleeve one last time. "Yes honey, I'm fine. I am here to check on you. You cried yourself to sleep at the doctors. Is everything alright? How are you feeling?"

Izuku gives the person he loves the most, the biggest genuine smile that he can muster. "You know what? I am feeling better than ever."

Completely taken back by her son's behavior. Inko has to ask, "Aren't you upset that you don't have a quirk? You were really upset at the doctors." She points out.

"You also always wanted to be a hero like All Might. How will you do it now?" Inko continued.

Silence envelopes the room. Izuku takes a couple of moments to think on what to say, before breaking the silence. "To be a hero, that is my dream. I will find a way." Izuku states matter of factly. "I will go against all the odds because I am Izuku Midoriya."

Inko stares into the eyes of her son and sees that his usually innocence isn't present. But instead, was a small flame in her son's eye. A flame that can one day burn like an inferno if cultivated early.

'I know that I can not support my sons dream. Its reckless, dangerous for someone who doesn't possess a quirk. I love him too much to lose him to this. But my heart speaks differently. Seeing that look in his eye tells me that he will pursue his dream with or without my help. He's my baby boy. I need to make sure he is safe and the only way to make sure he is safe is..'

"Okay." States Inko

"Okay?" Izuku parrots with wide eyes. 'This has never happened in the anime.' He finishes with a thought.

"That's right, I will support you on your dream. Only on the condition that you get straight A's at school AND eat all of your brussel sprouts." Inko says with a smirk.

Izuku's face instantly becomes green at the mention of brussel sprouts. "Y-yes ma'am." He responded weakly.

"What was that~?" Asked Inko teasingly with a much bigger smile.

"YES MA'AM!!" Izuku hollered.

"That's great! I made some brussel spouts for dinner tonight," turns around to prepare her journey to the kitchen. "Let's go and eat us some grub!" She continues with her fist in the air as if she was winning something.

Izuku just forces himself to not respond to his mother. Knowing it'll make things worse, he followed her to the kitchen to eat those cursed brussel sprouts.
