He went quiet for a short while as they drove. Aiden’s mind drifted thinking of how he couldn’t wait to get home. Chris was fumbling with his phone a bit and then interrupted Aiden’s day dreaming.
“He said tomorrow night after some shindig he has to go too. He said to meet him at the party.” Chris repeated what Eric had said in his text message.
“Great. Amy will probably be there. Ok, cool. Whatever,” Aiden said sarcastically.
Aiden and Chris finally made it into town, and Chris decided to stay with Aiden for the night. Talon had been patiently waiting to see his son drive down that long dirt drive.
As Aiden turned down the drive, like tradition, he rolled down the windows, blared his music, and hung his head out the window as he floored the gas pedal and sped. Aiden and Chris were hollering and laughing just like old times. It brought a smile to the fallen’s face as he watched his only son come home.
