Mentally A Monster

"The world is ending, finally." A man was looking out the thick barred window. It was tiny and little light could get inside. This man is Wen. He's been in an asylum since he was 16 and he was finally able to get out yet under the conditions of an apocalypse. Everything he remembered had been changed and with little experience except for his weird urge to kill, it was going to take alot to survive. [ LGBTQ+ characters, Gore, Phychological thriller Don't read it if your sensitive. All events that happen in the book are unrelated to real life... some what The mc only starts his crazed killing after a certain part, not right away. 3 Mans Dead Dead

'What the-', I pulled Ethan's hands from his face. His skin was so pale and his eye's glowed a yellowish color compared to the usual brown.

The man started to choke, covering his mouth again. I shook my head, I was to speechless to move, heck, I didn't even know how to move. 'What do I do? Ethan's going to die. He's next. I've been in contact with him, it seems like the disease is airborne and picks and chooses. If so, I'm so dead."

I looked into Ethan's eyes which were glowing yellow. '...This so isn't normal.'

His glowing yellow eyes seemed to reflect into mine and he saw his reflection, fainting on the spot. He fell into my arms, staining my coat red. My hands traveled on his neck looking for a pulse, hoping to feel atleast some type of life.

Nothing.

Ethan is gone.

I held him for a bit, just wanting to keep him in my arms.

During the earthquake, the lights had broke, throwing the room into darkness. Everything went silent. I checked the room after the earthquake passed.

I was alone. Everyone was gone. Dead.

Just like Ethan.

Just like the woman holding the yellowish-brown test tubes.

This is armageddon.

I walked out the room, the hallway was also dark and there were people scattered all over the floor.

I checked every room, every floor, yet no one.

Not a single living soul. I passed by the final room of the 6th floor, ready to give up until saw a man standing, peaking out the tiny window from the corner of my eye. I back tracked, 'Person, A live person.'

He might be unstable mentally, but there's safety in numbers, right?

The window was glowing a bright yellow around him reminding me strangely of Ethan's yellow glowing eye's before he died. The impulse to get him out of the way over came any other doubt and I kicked down the door and ran to the man covering his eyes before squeezing my own shut.

~~~(o'^'o)~~~
Wen blinked before opening his unfiltered mouth. "Lol, your boyfriend died."
The doctor clenched his jaw. "He wasn't my boyfriend."
"Seemed like it." Wen shrugged, tugging at the uncomfortable mask. "Can't this get any looser?"
"If you want to die, yeah, it can." That shut Wen up and he quietly put his hand down.
The man in the white robe stood up and walked out the room. With no where to go, Wen followed him. "Hey, Labcoat, where ya going?"
"Out of this place."
"You mean outside? Have you seen outside? Bro, it was bat sh*t crazy!" Wen looked the man up and down like he was mental.
"Can you shut up or is your mental illness not being able to close your mouth?" The doctor massaged his temple.
"Seriously, listen, look outside. You look like a dude who hasn't gotten sun in years how can someone be so white."
He frowned. "Look who's talking, you're whiter than me."
"Sassy, I like that." Wen nodded before pulling the tall doctor over to the window. The yellow light had died down but there was still this pulsing light glowing from outside.
He angled the taller mans head to get a better look out the window and watched as the mans eyes widen, reflecting the carnage happening outside. It filled Wen with a strange feeling of satisfaction. "When..."
Wen stuffed his face next to the doctors, trying to get a veiw as well. He wanted to see the world from this little window one more time. "I know right, the humans who were standing there watching the stupid cube open were acting so stupid, if that was me I would have committed unalive for how slow I was acting."
The doctor looked at Wen before walking away from the eccentric man. He seemed quiet normal, which was weird. He was admitted into the asylum for a reason so why was he so good at socializing, even if his words were quiet harsh. Shaking his head, the doctor stepped out the door and looked at a sign, it read the room number and the patient inside.
[Wen Sonil, Patient #138, Room #602]
No other information was shown, but The doctor recognized this name. He heard lots of his co-workers talking about this very man.
The stories played off of how he was 16 when he was admitted into the asylum. He heard that the man set his dad on fire because his own father got mad at him when he stabbed himself with a knife. Also that he had been arrested before being released for leading a student out of the school and selling them to human traffickers by 'accident'.
The final straw was when he snatched someone's child and chucked them into a waterfall. During court, his only defensive words were 'Sorry. It was an impulse." Yet there was more.
The rumors about Wen were insane but remembering the wholesome man clutching onto his white coat and looking around the halls in astonishment, he just couldn't believe he would do this.
He glanced back at the man who was scratching the wall with his finger.
'Nevermind, he's definitely crazy.'
"Wen, come here." Wen looked up before skipping over happily. He was wearing a bone-white jumper and one of the sleeves was rolled up revealing red scratch marks on his pasty white skin. "You called me?"
"Hey, wait." Wen stepped back. "How do you know my name-"
The doctor pointed to the door before he let Wen complete his sentence. "Oh... Well that's not fair, you know my name but I don't know your's."
"My name is no use to this relationship."
Wen shook his head. "That's what they all say. Actually, I didn't want it anyway, I'd rather call you Labcoat."
The man sighed and ignored his squabbling, a decision he would regret later. "Let's get out of here, it's too silent for my own good."
"If its too silent, just talk to yourself, it always works for me. Usually the screams just keep me company though." Wen grabbed the mans hand. "Im still not so sure it's safe outside."
"Lets atleast check somewhere else. What if we find more people?"
"Good for them then-" Wen shut up and nodded after he received a glare.
Wen was dragged down the halls of the asylum looking for any life. The doctor had only searched a few floors before he found Wen and so they decided to search the rest.
Still everything was empty, quiet and dark.
