Memories of the Gluttonous Sage

Cain wakes up like any other day--well I guess it would be night now. He discovers that with the nocturnal life, very few options for food are available. As such, he orders food, follows his daily routine, then takes a nap. Only to find out it was no normal nap, but a transdimensional nap. He wakes up in an unknown world filled with many fantasy like features. However, unlike fantasy games, novels, and tv shows, this is real life. This fact just excites him all the more. Despite feeling scared, worried, or panic. He just feels... free. No longer bound by the rules of the previous world, he can finally chase his dream. His dream that others called absurd and even crazy. But who cares? To him, it was one of the very few things that will always be fun, no matter how much time passes. Boredom is an eternity spent in a second, an eternity he never wants to experience again. Even if it means passing time by mindlessly. Watch the journey of Cain as he explores the unknown, gets kicked out of a few restaurants for eating too much, hibernates (sleeps) for 14 to 24 hours, and wreaks havoc in this new world. No one shall restrict his freedom any longer, and to those who do, he'll annihilate the obstacles and use the people or organizations in ways we can't even begin to imagine. ---------------------------------------------- Cover is made by Koi. Day 4 (24)

Cain focuses on Victor's tag, attempting to manipulate its mana. 'I wonder if I can convert other people's mana into mine… My boi does act like a pathogen so it should be possible.' A small portion of mana inside Victor's tag converts natural mana into Cain's, then directs this newly converted mana into Victor after concealing it.

Cain's mana flows throughout Victor's right arm, avoiding any particles of his mana. Once all of Cain's mana inside Victor's body coalesced into Victor's lower right arm, Cain ordered it to convert Victor's mana into his own.

Upon contact with Cain's mana, Victor's mana reacts violently, as if it were white blood cells fending off a virus. The entirety of Victor's mana began to circulate towards his arm to aid in the subjugation of Cain's mana, causing his arm to twitch violently.

'Well… That was a bust… Looks like there'll be some after effects too. Good thing I did it in his arm instead of somewhere near his brain. Despite my mana being undetectable to Victor's before, the moment it came into contact with his, Victor's entire body or mana system thing became aware of its existence… Interesting.' While analyzing the result of this experiment, Cain had his mana leave Victor's body through his pores; Victor's arm stopped twitching immediately after.

Cain then leads some mana from the mana zone through Victor's tag and into his brain. He targets Victor's hippocampus and uses the knowledge Dresil gave him to edit his memories. Afterwards, he'd check his work by viewing the edited memories through Victor's hippocampus. The cycle repeated a few times until Cain was satisfied with the results.

'Finally… now onto the next one. And it is… heck, I just want to go to sleeeeeeeeeeeeeepppp.' Cain checked the time on his right wrist and let out a small groan. It was currently 10:56pm. 'Ah, whatever, let's just hurry this up.' Cain then proceeds to use the same process on Myles to delete his memories of the events.

---Dms: Cain and Bob--- (11ms)

Cain: Can you drop off Victor somewhere near their hq? I've edited his memories so he barely flees and arrives at the hq.

Cain: Ask Dresil or Rex to rough him up some as well. It needs to be realistic.

Bob: Understood. What about Myles?

Cain: Try using his memories to open a portal to his house. Be careful you don't destroy any of his security measures though.

Bob: Understood.

--------------------------

Three portals abruptly appeared. One deposited Victor in the vicinity of the Shadowtrap Assassin's headquarters. The second was more of a gateway; the dark interior of Myles house could be seen on the other side. The third plopped Myles onto the couch in his room.

Cain walked through the second one and entered Myles' abode; some of Dresil's vines left Cain's clothes and fixed Myle's position so he'd be laying down properly. During this, Cain used his mana zone to make sure nothing was disturbed by the portal creations, then he entered Rachel's room. His mana enveloped her frail body, inspecting the symptoms and affected areas of the disease that ran rampant.

'Isn't this just pneumonia? It's worse than normal because the Shadowtrap family gave a false prescription though. I wonder if I can convert the disease into mana…' A multitude of magic circles appeared over Rachel's body. Cain grabbed an empty bucket that was on the side and flipped it over to use as a chair.

'Without magic circles, my accuracy can reach within fractions of a millimeter if I focus. That won't be good enough here though… I know magic circles can somewhat increase efficiency. I wonder if the same is true for accuracy though…' Cain closes his eyes and focuses on the magic circles hovering above Rachel.

The runes constantly shifted, some magic circles even drifted a few times. Each one seemed to flow rhymetically, moving about like a living organism. The orchestra of magic circles continued to dance around the frail body for around 20 minutes. During this moment, the vines used to lay Myles down returned to Cain.

The magic circles slowly came to a halt then vanished completely. 'It's not perfect but eh… I'll just leave some silver for the boi to purchase more medicine.' Cain gets up from his bucket chair, almost stumbling forward from standing up too fast. 'Heck… I really need to sleep soon.' He walks into the living room and sits down in front of the tiny table in the center.

---Dms: Cain and Bob--- (6ms)

Cain: Can you open up a portal to the Mana Storage dimension?

Bob: Understood.

Bob: What about surveillance using Little Birdy, Mk1?

Cain: It'll be postponed until I can store the feed. There's no point anyways unless it's livestreamed.

Bob: Understood.

--------------------------

A small portal materializes above the table. Cain directs a few million mana to create a piece of paper, a pen, and 69 silver. He set the silver aside and grabbed the pen. While his hand was reaching towards the pen, vines from his sleeve crawled towards his right hand. His hand was then directed to the top left corner of the paper.

---Dms: Cain and Dresil--- (46ms)

Dresil: Tell me what you want to write, Master. I'll write in this country's language.

Cain: Thanks Dresil. Aren't you still in the inn though?

Dresil: I left a clone in the blankets to finish reformatting them. My main body is in your clothes.

Cain: Woaaahh, so you can make clones? Interesting…

Dresil: :proud:

Dresil: The connection can only last a few hundred meters. Because the gate to the inn is still open though, there are no problems.

Cain: I see…

Cain: Write:

"Your sister is almost cured; a week or two more of medicine should finish the job. I've supplied some money for the costs. Your employers think you are dead so they will not look for you.

Your face has been changed due to magic; you can revert it back using the magic circle behind your right ear. Just inject some mana in there and it'll deactivate. To choose who can see your original face w/o you deactivating the disguise, double tap the magic circle after injecting mana in it then touch the base of the neck of the target. I recommend doing this to your sister before she wakes up.

Do not try to find me, do not question why this is happening. If you must repent for your sins or repay me, then do so by living for your sister and make her life easier. You should also move houses asap."

- Include my symbol at the end.

Dresil: ...Master, are you a lolicon?

Cain: What? No. Just figured I should give Myles a reason to persevere. Probably made the boi a major siscon though…

Cain: Also, thiccc thighs save lives.

--------------------------

Dresil uses Cain's hand to write the note while he focuses some mana around Myles' face. A tiny magic circle appears behind his right ear as Myles' facial features begin to distort. 'This is tougher than I thought… I'll just cover his face in a mask of mana first then shape it to the desired features.' Myles' facial features revert back to normal for a few seconds, only to be covered by a dense layer of mana.

Dents form on the mask of mana, creating the cheekbones, eye sockets, and other facial structures. Cain even altered the ears a bit since he knew it was possible to identify someone using their ears. The mask continued to be altered until it reached perfection. At this point, Cain linked several parts of the mask to facial muscles so it would move naturally.

After finishing the mask, he linked it to the magic circle behind Myles' right ear and began editing it. Cain adjusted the magic circle so it'd create mana from the surrounding natural mana and use it to maintain the mask. Just in case this didn't work, he stored 10,000 mana within the tiny circle.

The features mentioned in the note were added shortly after, along with a modification to Myles' tag so it would tag everyone he meets. The tags that were created from Myles' tag were slightly modified compared to the norm.

Whenever Myles' would double tap the magic circle behind his right ear after injecting mana into it, every tag within a meter would be checking for another input from Myles. The base of the neck is where the tags were located and also where the note instructed Myles to touch.

Upon contact with Myles' fingerprints and slight pressure, the tag would activate magic circles around the tagged being's eyes. These magic circles would allow the wearer to see through Cain's mana on Myles' face.

To be precise, it allows the wearer to see through any and all of Cain's mana so long as it was enclosed by Myles' mana and was disguised as such. The outlines of the mask were filled with Myles' mana while Cain's mana was disguised as Myles'. This prevented the target from accidentally seeing Cain's mana zone.

After the modifications to the mask and tag were completed, Cain looked down at the note. Thanks to the translation magic circles in front of his eyes, he could read the note in his native language despite it being written in a different one.

He gave it a quick read through then added a magic circle at the bottom behind his symbol. It was set so that once Myles read the note, it'd burst into flames to prevent any traces from being left.

Cain slowly got up from the table and slightly cleaned Myles' house, erasing any traces that he had been there. He glances at the time on his wrist once he was done, his drowsy eyelids struggling to stay open. 'Heck… it's already close to midnight.' Cain laments his misfortune of having such a busy day while hopping through the portal back to his room.

Once Cain completely enters his room, the portal leading to Myles' house fades away. Cain lightly patted the bed, moving his hand along the blankets. 'Hmm… The blankets are perfect, but I'll need some memory foam for my back… Man… I just want to sleep. How the heck do mcs of those manhuas or manhwas even get rest with stuff happening back to back...'

---Dms: Cain and Bob--- (2ms)

Cain: Open up Mana Storage.

Bob: Understood.

--------------------------

A portal appeared where the assassins used to be leading to the Mana Storage dimension. Cain sat on the edge of the bed and pulled out 280 million mana at a rate of 2 million per second. He led the stream of mana behind him in which a gigantic magic circle appeared.

'...Heck, I'm in the way…' Cain rolled forward, lazily moving from the side of the bed to sitting on the floor. Once all of the mana was inside the magic circle, Cain began creating the memory foam; attempting to brute force it with the sheer amount of mana.

It was slightly past midnight when he finally succeeded; he nearly fell asleep on the floor from exhaustion. The magic circle holding the memory foam above the bed fell down and sunk below the sheets. Dresil's vines within the blankets and sheets positioned the memory foam while the ones in Cain's clothes moved him to the bed.

---Dms: Cain and Dresil--- (3ms)

Cain: Wake me up around 7am… heck my sleep

Dresil: Understood Master. Good night.

Cain: ye, night. Off to hibernation I go.

--------------------------

Hecking finally... Day 4 is over. Normally I would put everything that happened past midnight in the next Day, but because it wasn't even an half an hour past and so little was done, I just left it in here.
