CHAPTER - 39

Previously,

"We're here." Eun Hyuk said.

"That was fast."

"Let's get inside."

They entered the restaurant, a waitress went to them and asked, "Have you reserved any table, young man."

"Yeah. Under the name, Eun Mi Park."

"Oh, please let me take you there."  The waitress said. They started following her.

Bo Young thought : "Wow, this place is really big and the atmosphere is really good." She was looking around the restaurant.

A small chuckle slipped Ha Sang's mouth who was watching her.

"What are you laughing at?" She asked him as she turned to him.

"*clears his throat* Nothing."

"This is your table, please take a seat." The waitress took them to an isolated room with a table in it.

Bo Young was baffled.

"Wait, this is the table which was reserved? This looks so different from the others."

"Yeah, this was the table reserved. To be honest, it's a VIP table. Usually, many businessmen, politicians, celebrities etc, reserve this table. That is why it's isolated." The waitress explained.

"V-VIP..?" Bo Young's jaw was hanging.

"Then, please seat yourselves. I will be back with the menu." The waitress exited.

Bo Young was still amused.

"Aren't you going to sit?" Ha Sang asked.

"Hu-uh? Yeah.." She said and calmed herself down. Pulled a chair and sat down.

The other two guys grabbed the chair next to Bo Young at the same time. She didn't notice it and took out her phone, continuing to read her favourite nettoon. They were still fighting over it.

The dragging of the chair disturbed Bo Young and made her notice their squabble.

"What are you guys doing?" She asked.

"I was going to sit down. But this guy came in the middle." Eun Hyuk said.

"Just sit down already." She shook her head and focused again.

The waitress entered the room.

"Here's your...menu..?" The waitress was confused.

Ha Sang was distracted by her entrance. Eun Hyuk took this opportunity and sat himself down. Ha Sang finally noticed that he lost his seat and rolled his eyes. He then went to the opposite chair with disappointment and sat himself down.

"Is there anything I can help you with?" The waitress asked.

"Oh, please don't mind them. Can we take a look at the menu?" Bo Young asked.

"Sure. When you guys are ready with the order, just press the buzzer, I will be back." The waitress handed her the menu and left again.

"Thank you." Bo Young bowed and looked at the menu. Eun Hyuk leaned towards Bo Young to have a better look at the menu.

"What are you going to have?" Eun Hyuk asked.

"Food definitely." Bo Young answered.

Ha Sang sighed.

"What? Why do you sigh?" Bo Young asked. Eun Hyuk slowly got the menu in his hand. Eun Hyuk examined it and chooses what he was going to eat.

"Fine..I know what I'm going to eat." He said and placed it on the table.

"What did you choose?" She asked.

"Samgyetang*. What about you?" Eun Hyuk asked.

"I have to look at it...ummm..i'll have Naengmyeon*. Here, choose yours." She handed it over to Ha Sang.

He was going through it. Bo Young pressed the buzzer so that the waitress would be there advanced.

"Why did you press it? I didn't even choose mine."

"You'll be ready when she comes here."

He rolled his eyes. The waitress came in, after 2 minutes.

"Can I take your order now?" The waitress asked.

"Yeah..A naengmyeon, a samgyetang and a...?" Eun Hyuk didn't know what Ha Sang was going to order so he stopped in the middle.

"A Nakjji Bokkeum please." Ha Sang finished the sentence. The other two looked at him with wide eyes.

"Will be right back." The waitress left, not before repeating the orders once.

"Nakjji bokkeum? That's quite a lot." Eun Hyuk said.

"Yeah. I thought you were dieting or something but it's alright to fill up your stomach once in a while though." She said.

"I've come to this restaurant a few times. It's lesser in quantity compared to other restaurants." Ha Sang answered.

"Oh, fine then." Eun Hyuk added. Bo Young nodded.

"And, I'm not dieting now. How did you know that I was dieting too?" Ha Sang asked.

"Yeon Joon once told me, when we met at the convenience store."

"Oh right, I remember now."

Eun Hyuk wanted to join the conversation too.

"Bo Young,"

She looked at him.

"You talk well." He said.

"What?" She asked being confused.

"I mean, you look like you won't talk at all, but you do." He said.

"I look like I don't talk? I do talk but only when I'm with with people close to me and when I have to speak up." She said.

"Then are we people who are close to you?" Eun Hyuk asked.

She couldn't utter a word. She didn't know how to answer.

She thought : "I'm not close to either of them, but how am I talkative. That's strange.."

"So..?" Eun Hyuk was still waiting for his answer.

"I..don't know." She said.

They were silent for a while.

*samgyetang – Ginseng chicken soup

*Naengmyeon – cold noodles

*Nakjji bokkeum - spicy stir fried octopus

However after 20 minutes, the silence was disturbed by the waitress and the food.

"Here's your dish." The waitress placed the food on the table.

"Thank you."

"Do you want anything else?" The waitress asked.

"I don't think so." Eun Hyuk said.

"Well, if you need anything, just press the buzzer. I'll be here. Enjoy your food." The waitress left.

"Thank you. Bon appétit!" They started to dig in. The eating sounds filled the room.

"Wow, it's delicious." Ha Sang said after he took a bite. Bo young agreed, same went with Eun Hyuk.

They kept eating without speaking in the middle.

They filled their stomach completely at the end of their dinner. They didn't want anything else. The waitress came in.

"Do you guys want anything else?" She asked.

"Nope." Eun Hyuk said. The other two agreed with him.

"Then, here's your bill. You guys can pay it in the front while leaving." The waitress said and handed it out.

"Thank you."

The waitress left. They were curious about the bill. "This is fine." Eun Hyuk said.

"I didn't look at the price when I chose the dish, now I'm curious." Ha Sang said. Bo Young nodded.

"Can I look at it?" Bo Young asked. Eun Hyuk nodded and passed it.

She was wide eyed.

"Wow, this is much more than I thought!" She said. Ha Sang got it from her. He was wide eyed as well.

"We should leave now." She said as she took a glimpse of the time.

"Wait, but who is going to pay the bill?" Ha Sang was confused.

The other two were already up.

"Oh! Eun Hyuk, you're the richest one among us, so, how about you pay for it?" She said and looked at him. He smiled at her.

"I'll take that smile as a yes.." Ha Sang said. Bo Young nodded her head.

They left the room and headed to pay the bill. As they were nearing, Eun Hyuk took out his wallet. Bo Young noticed it.

"Wait, are you really going to pay?" Bo Young asked.

"Yeah." He answered with a smile.

"I was just kidding." She said.

"But I wasn't kidding though." He said again while smiling appealingly at her.

"No you don't have to if you don't want to pay." She said again.

"Just leave him be, he said he's paying." Ha Sang said. She didn't tell anything after that. Eun Hyuk resumed with paying.

They left the restaurant.

"I'm touched." She said.

"What?" Ha Sang asked.

"Not you. Eun Hyuk you really paid the bill and I'm moved. That's a gentle man behaviour." She complimented him as they were standing near the motorbike.

"I wanted to pay the bill though." Eun Hyuk said.

"Pfft, what! Who would want to pay a bill?" She asked.

"I wanted to...after all..." Eun Hyuk continued. "After all what?" She asked.

"Nothing.." He said. He thought : "If I said the truth, it won't be the same way as it is now."

"So, are you leaving or what?" Bo Young asked Ha Sang.

"You really want me to leave don't you?" He asked.

"Yeah, so much." She said ironically.

"Wow, look at you being so excited when I'm about to leave." He replied.

"Hey, I just care about you. You have to get home safely, y'know." She said folding her hands.

"As if you do." He scoffed.

"Okay, okay. Bo Young, you have to get home. Let's go."

"Yeah. Let's go." She nodded at Eun Hyuk.

"What about you? How will you get back home?" Eun Hyuk asked Ha Sang.

"You're asking me?" Ha Sang asked.

"Forget it." Eun Hyuk regretted asking him.

"Eun Hyuk's right though. Did you come in some motorbike or something else?"

"Motorbike." He said?

"As expected from you guys." She said.

"Let's go, Bo Young." Eun Hyuk said as he was on the bike and was handing out her helmet.

Bo Young put on the helmet and got on.

"We're leaving." She said. Eun Hyuk didn't give her any time to get ready and started his bike and started leaving the restaurant. Bo Young wasn't alerted at all, she got startled and grabbed Eun Hyuk's shoulder.

"My! You should've told me. You got me there!" She said.

"S-sorry." He said.

She looked back at Ha Sang, as they were riding. He didn't go away from where they were standing. He kept standing there looking at them.

She thought : "I was the one who told him to leave, but the one who left first was me. But what am I feeling and why am I feeling this?.."

"What are you looking at?" Eun Hyuk asked, as he looked at her through the rearview mirror.

"Huh? Oh, nothing." She turned forward.

"And..can you loosen your hand? Your grip is a too tight.." He said to her who was still holding his shoulder tightly.

"Oh..sorry." She took her hand off him.

"I didn't tell you to take your hand off though. I just told you to loosen it." He said.

"What? No, it's okay. I'll hold you when it's necessary."

"There'll be a lot of speed breakers, is it alright?"

"Fine, but stop talking and care about the driving." She said and put her hand on his shoulder again.

His face now had a slight smile.

They were silent for the rest of the drive. They reached Bo Young's home.

"You worked hard." Bo Young said as she got down.

"Is the apartment okay? Do you have any inconvenience?" He asked out of the blue.

"What? So suddenly?"

"I should ask our tenants as someone responsible for this apartment."

"It's all fine, the heir of...wait, what's your apartments name though?"

"That doesn't matter as long as everything is fine."

"Okay, then you should leave. Thanks for the ride. Get going."

"You should get inside first. Then, I'll go."

"Fine. Bye." She said and went on. He left too.

She was ready to sleep after taking a shower. She received a call then...
