It’s You, Tan Lishua!

"Tan Lishua, you rotten child! What is this? Are you trying to poison me?"

The high-pitched voice of Lu Meihua echoed the Tan family manor. The maids of the house quickly left the scene when they heard their Madam's thundering voice. Tan Lishua, the eldest daughter of the Tan family stood shivering with fear in front of her stepmother.

"Yes? Is there anything wrong with the coffee I have prepared for you, Madam Tan?" the girl timidly asked.

SPLASH!

The teacup was tilted as scorching hot coffee was splashed onto poor Tan Lishua as she raised her arms out of subconscious reflex. "Lishua, I can't believe you tried to poison your own stepmother! I know I'm not your biological mother but I have raised you since that b*tch of that mother of yours died, leaving you here and this is how you repay me? By giving me sugarless coffee? Do you wish for my death with caffeine overdose, you crazy brat?"

Ah! Where's the logic in that? How funny it would be if the headline of tomorrow's news will be;

Oh, that would send Lishua dead from laughing too much! But right now, Lishua wasn't laughing. She was on the floor as she whimpered when she felt scalding pain on her arms as if someone had placed them inside a pot of water on top of a burning stove and her dress soaked with the hot beverage.

When Li Meihua left with a satisfied smile, the most loyal Tan family maid, Housekeeper Ling, quickly picked up the Eldest Miss to treat her burns. 'Ahh~ I really pity you, child. Your mother was so kind... How shameful that she had died due to labour complications and that new Madam takes her place...' Housekeeper Ling whispered in her heart.

After treating the burns as best as the woman possibly could, Tan Lishua smiled at the housekeeper and thanked her sincerely. "Thank you, Mother Ling." The woman whose daughter had died long ago caressed the young girl's silky black hair and returned her smile before leading her out to the living room to relax.

A few moments later, Tan Zihen or more commonly known as Father Tan's voice can be heard as he returned home. Lu Meihua quickly ran towards her husband and hugged him, fake tears that she had quickly shed glistening in her pitiful brown eyes.

"Husband, look at what your daughter did! She... she tried to poison me but.. but I was smarter. We argued and I accidentally knocked the poisoned drink all over her. She... she has been scolding me too! Threatening to... to tell you lies and...and driving a wedge between you and me! I'm disappointed with how you educate her, Zihen!"

Ahh~ the usual trick used by this evil stepmother repeatedly! How annoying! When will she stop her silly green tea act?! Suddenly, a pretty girl descended down the stairs. Her black hair that transitioned to a shade of dark brown looked as if it wasn't combed. Her brown eyes looked tired indicating she had just got out of bed from her 'afternoon' nap that eventually lasted till twilight. The aura she gave off was arrogant and cold, a visible contrast to her sweet, obedient expression. This is the Second Miss of the Tan family, Tan Meixua.

"Welcome home, Father. I decided to come down to see for myself what all the horrible commotion was about that dared disturb my peaceful slumber! Argh, I should have guessed ... it's you, Tan Lishua!"
