Chapter 3

Darcy's POV:

Looking into my closet I realised I didn't have any ideal date outfits, of course I didn't think I'd be going on one anytime soon. I looked at almost everything when my eyes landed on a green floral dress, I paired it with my black boots and a black bandana to go with, it was an odd mix but I'd be lying if I said it didn't look good. I walked downstairs and grabbed my car keys, I know mom didn't care about where I went but I should let her know that I'd be out.

"M goin' out, will be back by 11" I informed her as I grabbed my car keys and left. As I drove to the beach my mind was filled with the possibilities of what could happen tonight, seemed cliché I know but I'm human, feelings like these were what made me 'me'. I pulled over to the spot Noah and I were supposed to meet at, it was about 7:45 so I had 15 minutes to kill. My phone then buzzed it was Keira. She knew about the date so I guess she wanted to text me before it.

Keira: Hey I know you probably aren't going to read this till after the date but have fun and DON'T forget to update me on what happens

Me: hey lmao, in my car, I got 15 minutes till he gets here and yeah I'll let you know about what happens

I put my phone away as I released it was 8, getting out of the car I looked at the moonlight, under the very spot that we met then I relived it when I saw his tall muscular figure walk toward where I was, this was it my first date.

"Hey" he said

"Hi" I replied smiling

"You look great"

"So do you, what're the plans for tonight?"

"That would be a surprise, come with" he said as he pulled out his hand suggesting we held hands, I out my hand in his and walked with him to the unknown destination.

"So what do you liked doing when you get bored?" I asked randomly, it's no surprise I don't know how to start conversations or even carry them.

"Wow someone really doesn't know how to start a conversation but I like to play the bass and the occasional football"

"I don't think I'd put you down for a bass player but I'd like to hear"

"That depends on how tonight goes" he said with a smirk

"How bout this, if you do show me how you play I'll let you see one of my sketch books"

"You've got yourself a deal" he chuckled

"Ok we're here" he said as we stopped at a vintage looking diner

"This place looks great, wow" I said looking at him

"I thought you'd like it"

"What made you pick it?" I asked curiously as we got in and sat down in the not so crowded place

"The honest answer or the fake made up one?" He asked

"Definitely honest"

"My grandparents came over to watch us while mom and dad are still out of town, and as I thought about what we could do tonight I asked them, they said they met here when they were about 16 and that's when I knew we had to go here" I smiled at the answer that I received

"Why'd you use such a special place over someone you've known for only two days?"

"I'm not quiet sure but I think it just clicked when I saw the place and thought about you"

"That's really nice" I said as I noticed the waitress approaching us

"Hello, my name's Emily I'll be your waitress today, what can I get you both?" She said and handed us the menus

"I'll have the cheese pasta" I said as I looked at the menu, as a picky eater when you see something you're used to in a restraunt menu you get it without thinking twice

"I'll have the same" Noah said as, atleast now I know he isn't judging me for getting pasta on a date.

"Picky eater?" He asked

"You don't know the half of it" I said with a smile

"Same, I don't know how people can just go to new places and try new things" he agreed

"I know right! I could never"

"How often do you sketch?"

"Almost everyday, I think it started as a fun hobby but now it's more like an un-skip able routine, did you take classes to learn the bass?"

"Not really, my older cousin sister taught me it when I was like 9"

"She must be so cool"

"She is, I think she even taught me how to play football"

"That's so cute, do you guys still talk?"

"Only when we meet at family events, she lives in San Francisco so not as often as we used to"

"It's such a beautiful place, imagine your hometown being in both a Niall Horan song and a 5sos song"

"5sos fam?"

"Yeah and a Directioner best friend"

"I like 5sos they're cool"

"I hope you're not saying this just to impress me or something but if you are it's totally working"

"Favorite 5sos album?"

"Self Titled, Sounds Good Feels Good, Youngblood and Calm, what bout you?"

"That's all of them! But mine is Youngblood" he said as our food arrived

"A man of culture" I remarked

As the date went on we spoke about a lot of things, we had a lot in common, everything just seemed to click. Am I absolutely loving this guy and my first date? Fuck yeah! After dinner the waitress arrived with the cheque

"Let's split it" I said as I took a look at it

"Of course, I like it when someone knows what they want" he said with a smile

"I think the whole paying for me thing is so outdated"

"Exactly, it's time to put those dumb "traditions" behind"

"Finally someone who speaks my language!" I said with a smile, after paying we walked to our cars.

"Tonight was fun"

"It was" he said as we both leaned in for a kiss before we had to end the night

"I need to go home before curfew and I'm sure you do too"

"Yeah I do, goodnight" he said as I got into my car

"Night" I replied before I left for home, the real task would be getting home before 11, it was 10:45PM and I know that's not enough time to drive home. I drove faster than usual, when I finally got home it was just 11:05, smooth.

"Where were you?" Kaylee asked as I was about to go to my room

"None of your business" I said as I climbed to my room.

As the warm shower water hit my body I felt the sense of relaxation go over my mind. The day was over and now I had the nighttime all to myself, that feels comforting.
