Chapter 14. Already Unwilling to Spend Money Even Though Not Yet Officially In-Laws?_1

"Oh." Mù Qiānxún stood up apathetically, touched hands with Gao Wen, then promptly reclaimed her seat. "Can we start eating now? I'm starving."

Xin Liao's face darkened.

His daughter wasn't giving him any face at all.

So he turned to Gao Cheng and Lady Gao, Wu Chun, and explained, "Qianxun didn't grow up around me, so her behavior tends to be a bit carefree. She won't be like this next time."

Neither Gao Cheng nor Wu Chun was fond of Mù Qiānxún.

Yet, Gao Wen was!

In Gao Wen's eyes, everything Mù Qiānxún did was a display of her unique personality.

He was completely smitten by Mù Qiānxún's character.

He hastily handed her the menu as they sat together, "Order whatever you want."

Mù Qiānxún skimmed the menu, her face revealing delight, as she gleefully looked at Gao Wen, "There are so many dishes I've never tried before, and they're so expensive. Can I really just order anything?"

Seeing the smile on her face melted Gao Wen's heart.

"Of course, order anything you want."

Her sweet smile at Gao Wen had him utterly enchanted.

"Waiter, I'll have the Buddha Jumps Over the Wall, soy sauce marinated Qinghai Naked Carp, eight assorted seafood dishes, Shandong style Abalone and more..."

Mù Qiānxún nonchalantly ordered more than a dozen expensive dishes, each priced over ten thousand. Altogether, the meal would surely cost at least a small hundred grand. And as if that wasn't enough, she tacked on a bottle of '82 Lafite wine to end.

Luckily, Mei's Gourmet Hall was high-end enough to have in stock all of the extravagant dishes and notable wines that you could possibly order!

"Qianxun!"

Xin Liao raged. The dishes and wine Mù Qiānxún had ordered would likely amount to a three to four hundred thousand price tag. How could such a lavish first meal leave a good impression for the Gao family?

Indeed, Mù Qiānxún's impression in the eyes of Gao Cheng and Wu Chun was now incredibly low. From her arrogant demeanor when she arrived to her uncouth behavior and disingenuous tactics—this woman was trouble!

Seeing Gao Wen's infatuated gaze, they felt that he'd be under her thumb for sure in the future.

However, Mù Qiānxún seemed unfazed, blinking at Xin Liao with an innocently radiant smile, "Dad, are you concerned about the cost of the food I ordered? That's alright, since you're wealthy, you can pick up the bill! If they can't bear to part with their money upon first meeting, and feel heartache over small expenditures, how can I expect to live well after marrying into their family? Furthermore, to them, this is merely a drop in the ocean."

"It's not a big deal at all!" Gao Wen quickly asserted, drooling at the sight of Mù Qiānxún, "Qianxun is right. You'll be my wife in the future. What's mine is yours. This little expenditure means nothing to me. Is there anything else you want to eat? Feel free to order more. If you like it here, I can bring you here often in the future."

Mù Qiānxún responded with a sweet smile.

"Thank you, Brother Gao Wen."

As of now, the sight of Mù Qiānxún was beginning to vanish from Xin Liao's sight. Indeed, she was someone who had grown up in a small place, with much to learn. She could have been more modest on her first meeting. It would only be her who suffers in the end with such a behavior.

However, this didn't matter much. Though her impression on Gao family's parents wasn't too good, Gao Wen seemed very much into her.

As long as she could win over Gao Wen, she'd be good.
