Meeting Mr Ice

Jane walked towards the forbidden building with a clenched fist. She looked scared at first but that didn't stop her curiosity about looking into the building she had been forbidden to reach. She looked back to see if any of the men were around to know of her sudden disappearance but nobody seemed to know since the alarm bells hadn't rung. She breathed out heavily and touched the doorknob but before she could twist it open, her hand was yanked off it and she was pushed backward. She looked up only to meet the face of one person she had been trying to avoid. Allen stared coldly at the woman in front of him and stepped forward like a lion trying to stalk its prey. Jane looked terrified and gulped down with uneasiness. " What are you doing here? " Allen asked with his usual cold tone. " I was...uhm...just... " " Haven't I warned you not to step closer to this building huh? But it seems you are the stubborn pet. " Allen interrupted while continuing his walk towards her. " No...no, I was just being curious, that's all. " Jane replied as her back hit the wall. Allen trapped her in between. " Have you ever heard that curiosity kills the cat? " Allen smirked dangerously and Jane knew that she was in a long torture for the night. ______________ Don't miss out on this book. You will love it.

DARK BASEMENT.

Allen's car halted in front of an abandoned building and he looked at his left-hand side as if searching for a human's movement. The breeze blew softly against his cold skin as he got out of the car. It was late in the evening already. He pressed the Bluetooth device in his ear to receive the incoming call.

" I just arrived and I am about to go in. " He said and the caller ended the conversation.

Allen walked towards the building and opened the door. He entered, and his feet made a loud sound on the broken glasses on the ground. He looked around the room which appeared to be the sitting room scrutinizing each detail he could find. He brought out his phone and dialed Xander's number.

" Yes, Allen. "

" I am in the sitting room right now. " Allen said.

" Okay. Find the basement, I believe that he must be there. "

" How sure are you that it is the basement? " Allen asked silently.

" The basement is a place of an evil hideout, Allen. " Xander replied and ended the call.

The weak wooden staircase made a squeaking sound as Allen stepped on it gently. He got to the very dark basement but he wasn't concerned about that because he could see clearly in it. An offensive stench filled the whole area and the buzzing of bees and smaller insects could be heard. Allen's nose scrunched up in disgust at the smell. Not far from where he was standing laid a corpse whose head was cut off and Allen's eyes darkened immediately. He increased his pace towards it and squatted beside it as his eyes roamed over the corpse.

He stood up immediately again and groaned at his misfortune this time around. Who could have gotten here and traced his victim? During his state of turmoil, a bottle that emanated a green light caught his attention and he grabbed it. He took a closer look at the green bottle which would get dim and bright at the same time.

He knew what this bottle was used for and whosoever used it for this creature was smart and had made sure that he didn't notice his or her presence and the person who created this mess wasn't his kind which made him suspicious of the other likes. Allen walked out of the building and into his car before zooming off.

From afar, a woman clothed with a black robe covering her silver hair stared at Allen's car which was being driven away at full speed. Her rainbow eyes revealed mischief but she exhaled in relief and took a look at the remaining green bottle in her hand before whispering some words and materializing.

Jane took an evening bath and got herself ready to meet her mysterious husband. She had received a call from Mister Paul earlier reminding her not to be late. She took a cab and went to Old Madam Ryan's mansion. It seemed like everyone around was already aware of her new status as she was being referred to as Young Madam.

She got to the sitting room and met the Matriarch seated on a huge chair with a magazine in her hands. She was flipping the pages when she noticed Jane walking in timidly. She beamed at her.

" I thought you wouldn't make it anymore. " She said and opened her arms wide for her to get into.

" Grandmother. I am sorry for coming late, a lot happened today. How are you doing? " Jane asked as she sat beside her.

Old Madam Ryan was trying her possible best to make sure that she was comfortable being with her and at least that worked because Jane was full of smiles. Being wealthy doesn't mean you ought to act like a scary boss all the time!

" I am fine, thank you, my dear. How was your day and how is your brother doing? "

" He is fine. The surgery went well and the doctor said that he will be back to his feet gradually if we follow the instructions. "

" Ha, that's wonderful. I would have loved to transfer him to another hospital but since you don't want it, there is nothing I can do. " Old Madam Ryan said.

Jane smiled and brought her head low.

" I understand, grandmother and I am grateful. It's just that he has been there for a long time and I really feel comfortable with the environs. " Jane explained.

" Alright, dear. Whatever you wish for is what you believe you deserve. You don't need to feel guilty about it. What would you like to eat or drink? "

" I am fine, grandmother... "

Old Madam Ryan waved her hand to shut her off and also gave her a stern look.

" I don't want to hear it. Even if it is just a drink, you must be entertained. Your husband should be here at any minute. " She said and looked at the time.

Jane smiled again. Seriously, she was not used to the term HUSBAND as this was new for her but many times she kept on reminding herself that no matter what, she was in the deal already and since Old Madam Ryan had fulfilled the part of her promise, she had to do the same for her as well.

' Oh Jane, what have you gotten yourself into? ' She thought and blinked tiredly.

" Mama Coco. " Old Madam Ryan called.

" Yes, Madam. " She came running to her and bowed slightly when she saw Jane.

" Hello, Young Madam. " Jane immediately stood up and bowed to her out of respect.

" Hello, granny. "

" Whoa, such a beautiful young lady you have gotten for the Young Master, Madam. " Mama Coco praised and the Matriarch smiled with pride.

" Of course, I know what is best for my grandkids. Please prepare a sweet drink for her. Allen should be here at any moment from now. "

" Yes, Madam. " Mama Coco left.

" So, I hope you didn't forget what I told you about Allen... "

The conversation started lightly between them and soon led to a roll of laughter as they discussed the funny issues. It was at this moment that Kyle walked in and heard them. He rolled his eyes.

" Well, this is going great. " He mumbled and walked a little bit forward, he tried putting on a cheerful smile.

" Hi, Granny. " He greeted her and went to give her a warm hug.

" If it ain't my professor Stone. " Old Madam Ryan giggled like a child while Jane watched with amusement.

Was this her husband? He was so gorgeous and good-looking at the same time that Jane felt nervous the whole time they were together.

" Grandmother... " Kyle whined when he heard the name and he say opposite her.

' What? Aren't you a stone? You have it written all over your face. You and Allen are not different from each other, you two are brothers in stone! " The Matriarch joked.

" That is not cool grandmother. " Kyle said with a smile and diverted his attention towards Jane.

" Ha, this is your sister-in-law, Jane, and Jane, this is your brother-in-law, Kyle. He is Allen's best friend and like a brother to him, trust me he is the least annoying. You will still meet the most annoying ones in the brotherhood. " The Matriarch introduced and Jane chuckled.

" Hello. "

" Nice to meet you, Miss Jane. " Kyle replied simply but judging from his change of tone and behavior towards her, it made Jane feel like her relationship with Kyle wouldn't go that well.

" Where is Allen? " Madam Ryan asked.

" He has some business to deal with it so he sent me here on his behalf. " Kyle replied quickly.

" That boy! " Madam Ryan burst angrily.

" Must he always disobey me, huh? "

" No, grandmother. Remember that he is your favorite grandson. " Kyle said, trying to cool her down. Old Madam Ryan looked away.

" You are all my favorite grandchildren. " She murmured.

Jane shook her head amusingly, this family was so warm, cool, and even fun to be with. Maybe she wouldn't regret joining them as the granddaughter-in-law of the family.

" I think we should take our leave now. " Kyle said and stood up.

" What? No, she is yet to have her drink... "

" We have thousands at home, she can have it there."

" Moreover, the road is getting much more dangerous these days but when next she comes, she will eat and drink till she becomes obese. I can assure you that. "

Mama Coco appeared with a tray of one of the most expensive wines in the mansion.

" What took you so long? Now, she is about to leave." The Matriarch asked.

" I am sorry, Madam. Good to see you, Kyle. "

" And you two, Mama Coco. I will stop by tomorrow to have a taste of my special meal so be prepared. " Kyle said.

" No problem, we will be expecting you. " Mama Coco waved.

" Alright then, bye. " Kyle greeted and marched forward.

" Goodnight grandmother, goodnight Mama Coco. " Jane greeted.

" Have a safe trip home. "

Jane followed Kyle out towards the car which he opened for her as a gentleman and Jane entered. Kyle entered the driver's seat and started the engine, he reversed before turning the steering wheel to the left and zooming off.
