Jennie's POV

The sound of the flat line was like some signal that my own life was ending was well. All the nurses and doctors rushed to Lisa's side as they began to revive her.

I stood there frozen, not knowing what to do. Rosé, Minnie and her mother collapsed to the floor crying while begging the doctors to do everything in their power to save Lisa's life.

All I felt at that time was that she decided to give up on me. I knew for a fact that the conversation I had with her in my dream was real. I spoke to her spirit, the one that was mindlessly lingering through the walls of this hospital, waiting to awaken in its body.

Was she really giving up on me? After everything we've been through together? The things I encountered with Lisa were indescribable and too magnificent to be even real. How could she not have faith in us, after all that?

"This is unfair..." I mumbled to myself, shaking my head in disbelief as my entire body began to tremble. "You can't leave me this way. Tell me I didn't just go through the most magical things in life only to end up alone!"

"Try to find genuine happiness in you, because you will if you try."

Lisa's words kept echoing in my mind and I knew exactly what she wanted to hear one more time.

Her hand was hanging down the bed while she was being revived. Without a care in the world, I ran towards the bed and tightly held on to her hand. "I love you so much, Lisa. Thank you for bringing so much color to my world. If I have to let you go so you can enjoy real paradise in heaven with no limits, then so be it. I cannot promise you that I will be happy right away, but I will try to be. I'm going to dig deep and find it in me, no matter how long it takes."

The tears from my eyes dropped on her hand as I planted a soft kiss on her palm. "No goodbyes, Lisa. I'll see you in our own paradise in my dreams. Please don't leave me there."

"We've done everything that we can," I heard one of the doctors say.

Mel and Minnie began crying even louder.

All of a sudden, I felt her fingers twitch in my hands. It's like the spark that was released when our fingers touched was transferred to her body, and then to her heart. The monitor started to record her beat of her heart again, causing everyone to get up on their feet.

My heart began to race as I got up to check on her. "Lisa?"

"We're getting her normal heart beat back," said one of the nurses. They began doing checks on her, but I didn't even bother looking. My attention was focused on her face as it slowly regained its color.

Out of nowhere, she started breathing deeply. Her eyes slowly opened in half as her fingers intertwined with mine.

"She's awake," I breathed out in disbelief. "Oh my god, she's alive. She's breathing. She's... she's looking at me."

The room went silent. Both Mel Minnie and Rosé rushed back to Lisa's side only to find out that I wasn't just seeing things.

"Lisa, baby?" Mel choked while trying to fully awaken her niece.

She blinked a few times before finally opening her eyes. I was afraid she wasn't going to recognize me again or any of us. But it didn't take long before that cute mouth of her broke into a grin.

I felt the strength that I once lost slowly burst inside of me as I gave her a massive hug while sobbing. Relief, happiness, shock , I was feeling everything all at once.

"I thought you left me for good," I cried in her hospital gown. "Don't ever do that to me again. That wasn't funny, Lisa."

Once I was able to contain myself, I gave Mel and Minnie time to hug her and ask her how she was feeling. The doctor had to take a few tests, so I just stood by her side waiting for my time to speak with her. After everyone was done, I pulled a chair and sat by her side, my hand never letting go of her.

"Hi," I murmured, still not believing what I was seeing right now.

"Hello again," she smiles, her voice still cracking a little.

"You almost killed me, you know?"

"That's ironic," she let out a weak laugh. "I couldn't possibly leave you. What is heaven without the one who makes me feel like every place on earth is paradise?"

"Should you even be talking right now?" I stammered. "I'm sorry, maybe you need to rest. I can leave you and then . . . . "

"Hey, hey," I felt her grip tighten. "I've had enough rest. Don't leave me."

I felt the tears brim in my eyes again. "That's what I've been telling you."

"I know," she nods slowly. "And I didn't leave you. I'm here and I'm not going anywhere."

"Why did you give up on me for a second?" I asked, not really sure if I wanted to hear the answer.

Lisa smiled. "I wasn't giving up on you. I was fighting for you. My body wanted out, but my spirit knew that it couldn't possibly be the end."

"Are you sure you're okay? You must be in pain," I gently ran my fingers up to her arm. "Tell me if you need anything."

"I just need you to be here," she murmured. "I'm so sorry for the scare, Jennie. I was trying, I really was."

"I know," I nodded quickly. I brought my finger to her chapped lips to stop her from talking. "It's okay. Please don't be sorry."

"It was lonely, not being able to hold you again, smell your scent, tell you that I love you," she said while running circles in the palm of my hand with her finger. "I wanted to kiss you, but I couldn't. It felt like a lifetime to me. It's like I got a taste of what it was like to live without you and I didn't want any more of it."

"It was terrifying for me," I admitted. "I thought I was never going to see your beautiful smile again or hear your charming voice."

"I'm here now," she assured me. She brought one hand to her head and flinched. "My wound is killing me, but I think I can manage. Just as long as you'll stay here by my side."

"I'm not going anywhere," I promised.

"What happened?"

"Your accident?"

"Yes," she slowly nodded. "I don't remember exactly how I ended up in this bed."

I let out a deep sigh. "Are you sure you want to know now? The last thing I want to do is stress you out."

"I want to know," she insisted. "Please?"

"We were in a car chase," I swallowed anxiously. "With Kai."

"Kai?" she repeated. "He did this?"

"Not intentionally," I quickly shook my head. "He was furious and he wanted us to stop over, but we didn't. So his car crashed into ours. I only had a few bruises, but you were unconscious and you lost a lot of blood."

"I remember now," Lisa looked up at the ceiling as she began to replay everything in her mind. "He wasn't too happy, but I don't blame him. he lost you. I might have done the same thing."

"I told her to run away before the police interrogates him," I confessed. "He's probably on a flight back to New York by now. I'm sorry, I knew he should pay for what he did but. . . ."

"It's okay," Lisa smiled, taking my hand back in her. "If I were conscious, I wouldn't have pressed any charges anyway."

"Why are you such an angel?" I shook my head in surprise. I knew Lisa wasn't exactly in good terms with Kai before the accident, but she still had the heart to understand her situation.

"He was only fighting for you one last time," Lisa casually shrugged. "Something I did before I woke up today."

"I love you," I burst into tears once again. "The moment we get out of here, I am going to spend every minute of every day taking care of you until you're in perfect condition. I won't ever leave your side. I'm going to take you to physical therapy to make sure that you're in good shape. I'll drive you to check ups. I'll cook for you, I'll feed you . . . "

A light squeeze from Lisa's hand interrupted my sentence.

"Marry me, Jennie." She broke into a wide grin.

"W-what?" I sputtered.

"Marry me," she repeated. Her eyes were sparkling in excitement as she said the words. "I may not have a ring right now, but I will get you one and do this the right way. But I want to marry you. I've never been so sure of anything in my life. I don't want you to stay by my side until I'm well. I want you to stay by my side for eternity - until we're old and gray and can barely walk without holding each other's hands. I want to have children with you."

"Lisa," I felt like sobbing out loud all over again.

"I don't even want an extravagant life. I don't have to be the world's biggest businessman just like my father or a writer. As long as I have you, then I have everything," she went on enthusiastically. "We can live a simple and happy life and let our adventures be our wealth. We can live in Yeonsu where we have everything we'll ever need and each other. Our kids can play by the streets as we watch over them. We can take them mountain climbing and teach them to be adventurous just like us. We can make our own little happy world wherein we won't need anything else."

"That would be perfect," I nodded, still feeling overwhelmed. "I don't even know what to say."

"Say yes?" she gave me a hopeful smile while raising one eyebrow.

"A hundred times yes." I smiled from ear to ear as I leaned over to give her a gentle hug. "I don't want any other kind of future except for the future that I'll be having with you."

"I love you so much," she bites her lower lip as her eyes begin to water.

"I love you, Lisa," I brought my hands to her cheeks. "I will never get tired of saying it."

"I will do this proposal the right way though, I'm serious," her expression started to become serious. "I'll go buy a ring, I'll gather our friends and family - and you have to act surprised."

I started to giggle as I playfully pinched her arm. "You're such a dork."

"That's happening, Kim," she pursed her lips.

"Whatever you say, Manoban" I chuckled, nuzzling my cheek on her chest.

"You're welcome. Wow! I'm glad you thought the idea was brilliant," she snorted sarcastically.

"I'm glad to have you back, baby," I laughed, poking my finger in her swollen cheek. "It doesn't even feel like I'm talking to someone who had just woken up from a coma....again."

"What can I say?" she grinned. "You make me feel alive."

I sighed in satisfaction as I wrapped my arm around her. "Thank you for making my dreams a reality, Lisa."

I felt her slowly lean forward as she planted a kiss on my forehead.

"Thank you for making my reality feel like a dream, Jennie," she murmured.
