CHAPTER 24: AN UNUSUAL SIGHT

Noctis and Faye started to walk to the guild. On the way he said, "Also don't tell anyone about the magic artifact."

Faye rolled her eyes "I figured don't worry I'm not one to spill other's secrets."

Noctis nodded "I know."

They then entered the guild to see Goblin Slayer bowing to a group of high-level adventurers. Faye was about to say something, but Noctis covered her mouth. "Let's see how this plays out."

Goblin Slayer bowed "Please I need your help. There will be too many Goblins with the Goblin King as their leader."

Many people inside the guild began talking. Either saying it's not worth it or that goblins are disgusting weak creatures that they did not want to deal with. From Noctis's point of view it seemed like many of them were simply scared. He also understood though that they were dumb enough to think that nothing was in it for them. In all actuality where Goblin Slayer lived was actually very important. The Farm was outside of Cobalt but the farm itself was its own little town. It was a town full of farms that helped supply Cobalt. Noctis had figured this out when Ruri explained it to him.

Noctis then watched as the high rank spear user Gilgamesh stood up. He had auburn hair and was wearing a dark blue and gold armor set. It matched with his spear. "I think you got the wrong idea about something."

Gilgamesh continued as he said louder "This is an adventurer's guild, and we are adventurers. We don't do requests. You need to put up a quest with a reward."

Goblin Slayer nodded "Yes you are right."

Gilgamesh smiled "Oh so tell us how much you are going to pay us for dealing with over a hundred goblins."

Goblin Slayer merely said "Everything."

Gilgamesh was unsure "You mean…."

Goblin Slayer nodded "My possessions, knowledge, expertise. Even my life."

Noctis started to laugh as he walked up "That's not necessary Goblin Slayer I'm sure everyone here will help."

Gilgamesh seemed a bit stunned "Not for free."

Noctis nodded "Well of course not. I'm sure that Lucy is talking to the guild master right now because she is in love with Goblin Slayer and I'm sure it will probably be one gold coin per goblin head. Also, if Goblin Slayer was not here this town would be screwed."

Gilgamesh scoffed but before he could say anything Noctis continued "Without Goblin Slayer there would be no one to kill goblins. Only low-level adventurers who would just die at the sight of a goblin."

Dain came down from the steps "Well I'll help. As long as we all share a drink after."

Dain was laughing as Krox nodded "I'll help as well. Maybe we can all have some fine meals with those drinks."

Adventurers started to murmur saying stuff like "Well it would be boring without him here." "I do want to see what's under the helmet." "It's just Goblins after all."

Lucy then ran up and presented an adventure in front of everyone "We will be offering one gold coin per goblin head."

Everyone started to cheer as they got more invigorated to help out. Noctis patted Goblin Slayers shoulder "You know you should have just reached out to me first."

Goblin Slayer looked at him and just nodded. Noctis sighed "Where's Ruri anyways."

Ruri came from around the corner "I'm here. Ready to go too."

Noctis smiled "Alright everyone listen!"

Everyone started to pay attention even the couple in the back where the man looked like Guts an even had his sword. With the girl who was blonde and looked like Saber from Fate a bit.

Even the Amazonian woman who was ripped out of her mind and taller than Noctis. She had a giant rack as well.

Noctis smirked "Here is what's going to happen. The goblins most likely will attack tonight so everyone make their preparations. In an hour I expect everyone at the west gate we march for the farm area and then we go with whatever plan Goblin Slayer has for us. He knows the area the best as well as how to kill these things the best."

Everyone cheered in agreement as they left the guild to go and get ready. Goblin Slayer walked over to the group of Lucy, Aria, Dain, Ruri, Krox, Noctis and Faye. He slightly bowed "Thank you."

The farm girl that he lived with. Who had short red hair and a giant rack bowed as well "Thank you."

Dain started to laugh "Goblin Slayer no need to bow. We're all friends here."

Ruri stared at the farm girl for a minute but then nodded in agreement "I have to at least do this much after you have saved my life countless times."

Krox nodded "This will help me on the way to the dragon."

Faye smirked "After this we can go on a real adventure to."

Noctis walked over and patted Goblin Slayer on the shoulder "Plus it sounds like fun."

Noctis chuckled "What's your name by the way red?"

The farmer girl pointed at herself "Me?"

Noctis nodded "You are the only with Red hair."

She smiled "My name is Ruby. Nice to meet you all."

Noctis smiled "Nice to meet you Red let's get going."

They all started to walk away as Ruby said, "But my names Ruby."

Noctis turned around "Hurry up Red."

She pouted but quickly followed after them.

A few hours later

It was dark under the two moons one being green the other red. Fifty adventurers stood by one farm as they were waiting for the eventual arrival of the goblin army. There were five archers on the roof one of them being Faye. Laying down next to Faye was Noctis with his hands behind his head looking at the moons.

Noctis sighed "They sure are taking their time."

Faye remained alert but nodded "Should you not be getting ready down there with the others?"

Noctis smirked "Goblin Slayer has his plan. I have mine. I'm sure he calculated what I plan on doing with his plan."

Noctis sat up and looked down seeing Dain and the witch Esme in her purple gown and large hat ready for the goblins to show up with their meat shields.

Goblin Slayer mentioned how the frontline goblins will most likely use women and girls as meat shields for the start of their attack.

Noctis sighed "I'm not interested in helping with the small fry goblins anyways."

Faye slightly widened her eyes as she felt the killing intent in his next words. He smirked "I hear a Goblin Lord at least has three Goblin Champions under them. I plan on killing and torturing one all myself."

Faye smiled as she bent over and rubbed his hair "You have fun doing that I'll make sure to watch over you."

Noctis quickly put his hood back on "You don't need to rub my head I'm not a kid."

Faye giggled "Well I am a hundred eighty-two years older than you."

Noctis rolled his eyes under his mask as he got up "Looks like it is starting."

A horn blared through the open grass field where farm animals would usually stand but now it was just a barren battleground. The goblins slowly started to come out of the forest numbering at least two hundred with a line of women on large planks to block their front line. All of them gagged and bloodied stripped naked and tied to the plank.

(A/N Give me powerstones. Also, I had a question what world has a higher power level Danmachi or Log Horizon. I was thinking Danmachi would be higher but after looking at some stuff I'm not so sure anymore.)
