Quinlan moved a little distance from the egg, which he left at the head of the table, right beside his pillow.
"What's going on? Is it hatching already?!" he wondered, completely confused.
Based on the information he got from Lady Moon before about Wisdom Monkeys and the method to "hatch" them from their cores, he should be far from reaching it yet. However, seeing the cracks appearing on the egg's surface, releasing bright bursts of green and white light, he couldn't think of anything else to explain the situation other than its hatching.
"...!"
The egg finally cracked completely as a bright light flashed from it, pointed toward the ceiling, and lit up the dark night sky. It was a bright pillar of light—green light!
