Quinlan left the guardhouse under the slightly sad gaze of Senior Bai, waving lightly at him in goodbye. Before he left, he finished reading not only the first ten pages but practically the entire first part of the book—the complete ruleset of the World Within a Gourd—making sure that he wouldn't do anything wrong by mistake and end up punished.
'Still, my situation is dire.'
With his system practically being the weakest one present in the entire world, with only two users, his social standing was no different than that of a slave. As such, he had to be careful not to get into any trouble or to let anyone see his system.
'As such, it would be best if I can go to the Jade Palace as soon as possible!'
However, that in itself is a different kind of problem. The Jade Palace was, as Senior Bai said, roughly a month of travel on foot away from Mirage City. In short, he would need to spend a full month walking nonstop just to arrive there!
