Chapter 26: Adventures In Shopping

Getting left alone with Wesley Reynolds has ceased to phase me anymore. Honestly, the universe seems to always be willing us together. For all I know, this could just be in my head. The universe could be as cruel to me as it’s always been, using my budding feelings for Wes to let me fall into a trap of false security.

However, falling for Wes doesn’t seem like false security.

It didn’t take long for me to talk myself out of those feelings. I decided to call Serena and Seth to give me an update on how they were doing. Jasper should be at the house by now, but I needed to hear the kids’ voices.

“How’s the home front?” I asked.

“Real good. I woke up feeling inspired, so I started designing you a dress for the Winter Ball,” Serena smirked.

“Too bad that beautiful dress is going to go to waste. I haven’t been to the Winter Ball in all my years of high school. I don’t plan on starting now,” I said.

“Never say never big sister,” Serena grinned.
