The Contract

"So, what's your name? I'm Ragnar By the way. " He said to her joyfully.

Juri Nee is still processing as to what happened to her as she was abandoned by her comrades, and was saved by a Dragonoid, she herself still doesn't believe him to be one, but instead she thinks of him as a strong Combat type Fighter.

"I'm Juri Nee, as you already know, I'm a weak Mage, everytime I cast a spell I easily get tired. "

"So how do you expect me to help clear this dungeon? " she asked him sarcastically to herself.

"Hahaha! " he laughed blissfully.

"So blissful. " that's what I said.

"Don't you worry, Juri Nee, I'm here, didn't you see how crushed those lizards, everything will be fine. " he proudly said

"Besides, we can't just leave this dungeon be, this is a high ranked dungeon, if the monsters here were to come out, it will cause some casualties outside, you already know that yourself. " he shift tone as he said that.

Juri Nee got frightened.

"Of course I do, I'm a Fighter. " she said trying to tough it up.

A few minutes of walking around the dungeon.

"It's here. " Ragnar said as he felt the boss monsters presence.

It's a Half Dragon.

Juri felt so much pressure as she never felt such aura before in a low level dungeon, as she didn't know that this is a Gold ranked dungeon boss.

As said at the previous chapter, the Fighter's Association made an error when they scanned this dungeon beforehand, and the real rank of this dungeon is a Gold rank dungeon.

(In order to scan a dungeon, it needs a magic detector, depending on how much the magic is in a dungeon, it is then was it ranked accordingly)

"Looks like it's a pretty big haul. " Ragnar readied himself.

And then he rushed into it, and striking it's muzzle with his bare fist.

The half Dragon flew off.

'Just how strong is he? He's able to fend off a half Dragon like that, I would've died if I were to take a strike from it. ' Juri thought surprised to Ragnar's strength.

Ragnar attacked its head again, but it dodged and strikes Ragnar away with its tail.

"Hey, don't just stand there, fire some attacks at it, the face to be exact. " Ragnar said to her.

"Right. " she then castes her strong spell.

"Keep it on its place! " she said as she tried aiming at it, and can't lock onto it, since it's pretty mobile.

"You got it! " Ragnar then rushed back at it.

The half Dragon strikes him with its feet, Ragnar blocked it and grabbed hold its feet, crushing it at the process.

*ARRGGGHH!!*

"Now! " Ragnar called out to Juri Nee to fire it.

"Thundering Flame! " she casted it, and aimed at the head.

A Thundering Flame is a fire magic that releases a fire power as fast and as strong as lightning.

*ARRGGGHH!!*

"Good! " Ragnar shouted and jumped back at the face of it, punching Its face again.

It got knocked back.

The half Dragon then launched a blue fire at where Juri Nee is.

"Juri Nee!! " Ragnar shouted at her.

Juri Nee tried dodging away, but she was too tired after casting her strongest spell, she was caught by the fire.

Ragnar then rushed back at her, removing her from the blue flame.

"Huh? "

He saw that the blue flame around her is being absorbed by her body.

'She's unconscious, better end this quickly. ' he thought.

He then casted a flame ball from his hands, and fired it at the half Dragon.

It tried to counter it with its blue flame, but it wasn't strong enough.

The half Dragon was slain.

"Juri Nee! " Ragnar called her out, trying to wake her up.

'Uh, what happened? ' she thought as her vision is still blur.

'I'm in Ragnar's arms? This is awkward, I must've lost my consciousness when I was attacked by the half Dragon. ' she thought.

"Thank god, your awake. " Ragnar said with a relief.

"What happened?! " she immediately stood up as she felt awkward just lying down on Ragnar's arms.

"I killed it, the dungeon is cleared, so I think everything is good now. " he said to her with a smile reassurance.

"Well that's good, thanks for helping me clear it. " she said.

"Oh, I mined all the crystals in here while you're asleep, where do you gonna keep it? " he asked.

She is surprised about the amount of crystals laying in front of her.

"Wow, thanks, I'm gonna need that for my rent though. " she said with a sense of relief.

'Maybe I should move out and find a better apartment, that place is kinda run down now, it's just I don't know if I can afford it in the future. ' she thought.

'I have a storage bracelet to store all of it so it's all good for me to take it. '

"Hey, I kinda took interest in you. " he said to her with a straight face.

"Wa-What?! " she got flustered as to what he just said to her.

"I also want to help you as well. " he added.

"What do you mean by that? " Juri Nee is confused.

"Do you wanna be stronger? " Ragnar asked her.

She thought of the days she is helpless after she heard him to make her stronger.

She had so much bad experience in this kind of work, she had no choice but to use this method of living, as she herself has no other talent other than her easy comprehension.

Even though she could've done a different job related to that, she also want to prove to her dad that she can survive the world on her own, so she decided to be a Fighter like him, after she was awakened as one.

(Her father is a Supreme ranked😁)

"Of course, I want to be strong, more than anything. " she said with a determined yet sad expression.

"Well then, if you wanted it, make a contract with me. " Ragnar instructed her.

"Contract? " she's confused.

"A contract of love. " he said with a straight face.

'Huh? '

She don't know what she had to say other than her always reaction to a situation like this.

"You like me? "

"I love you, your face, your sarcastic attitude, your unnerved determination. " he said affectionately.

"But I don't like you. " She said sarcastically.

"That's fine, all I have to gain from this is to be with you, you don't need to reciprocate your feelings if you can't, the contract is that, I get to be with you, and you'll gain a power from me. " he explained.

"What if I betrayed you? " she asked.

"That's fine, as long as I'm with you. "

"What if I loved someone? "

"That is fine as well. "

"Why are you fine with this kind of things? you should not. "

"It's because I'm a Dragonoid, this things doesn't affect me, all I needed is for me to give you my feelings, that's a custom of ours, even though I haven't had a partner before. " he explained again in his own quirky way.

"Fine, you're such a weirdo, I'd just do everything to get stronger, huh? I haven't really became stronger ever since I became a Fighter, so, how do this contract work? " she asked.

"Well, I have it in this paper, all you have to do, is put your finger print in it with your blood. " he said with a straight face again.

Juri Nee had to process that.

"Ok. " she then took a knife with her and sliced her hand and put her thumb on the blood.

"Here. " Ragnar said and pointed where she should put her blood print in.

The contract then glowed and imprinted Juri New's name in it.

"Well, now you're my wife! " he said enthusiasticly.

"What? "
