Nine

The next morning I was woken up by Rose screaming. It's probably already 7am. I didn't hear my alarm clock go off.

I quickly get out of bed and head to the bathroom where I shower, brush my teeth before putting on my uniform and grabbing my bag.

Once all this is finished I go downstairs as quickly as possible. I have my breakfast quite quickly, Rose arranges my uniform before I leave the house.

On the way I realize that I am not late and decide to take my time. I thought there would be a lot more people than usual but nothing. I walk quietly and cross the road and within 10 minutes I was already in front of the high school entrance.

I take a deep breath before entering, this is where it's all going to happen now. The school is really a huge building, there must be a lot of rooms. There are really a lot of students, and they are of all kinds. There are elves, dragons and even demons.

It's a real change from before when I was the only demon. I look around once more before entering the building, from the inside it is even bigger with large corridors that stretch as far as the eye can see with many rooms and stairs.

With all this I don't really know where I should go. I keep walking inside until someone taps my back, I turn around to face him.

It's a young woman with green hair and green eyes, she's not really tall, probably about 5'4", she's pretty great shaped and looks adorable.

"You're new I suppose?" she asked with a smile that was almost charming.

"Yes, I'm a bit lost," I reply.

"You have to go outside for now, there's a test to take first."

"Thank you then." I didn't know there was a test, what could it be?

I follow the student and she takes me outside where I see many people gathered. Someone seems to be explaining to all the newcomers what is going to happen. I see machines and people using their magic on them. A test of magic I guess.

"You just have to go and stand in line and give your name to the teacher before you go and test your magic" she said before walking away to help other students.

I go where the students are queuing, there must be at least ten students before me, I'll probably get bored and then why do I feel so many students looking at me is almost disturbing.

After at least 20 minutes that seemed like an hour it was finally my turn, I said my name to the teacher before walking towards the machine. If I understood correctly from what I saw, those who have more than 30 000 points go to an elite class and the rest to a normal class, well I hope I'll be in the normal class, I'm tired of working especially as those who have succeeded look arrogant or come from rich families.

I walk towards the machine and concentrate some of my magic, I thought I could get away with my flames being orange but no it's purple. I'm in trouble, I have to change it and fast but it doesn't work and the professor starts to lose patience.

I send a small ball of purple flame and as soon as it hits the machine, the heat increases rapidly and everyone turns around, the machine cracks before displaying a score of 500,000, which is 10 times more than the necessary score.

I wanted to go undetected, so I didn't. The professor is as surprised as everyone else before coming closer to me.

"I am impressed by your performance and it is with pleasure that we will welcome you in the elite class. " A few of the students allowed themselves to clap their hands.

" After the principal speech you hate to go to the room 124." she said before taking another student.

After everyone had passed the principal decided to go on stage to make an announcement.

"First of all, congratulations to all of you for being here, whether you are in the regular class or the elite class, I hope you all have a great year and that your results will be impressive." He clears his throat before continuing.

"Scarletwound Ava will you come up on the stage please." he says and I hurry up to the stage. Suddenly I feel like there are a lot more people than I thought.

"I wanted to congratulate you because you are the one with the highest score, let's applaud" he said before all the students started to applaud.

"Well do you have a speech for everyone first," he said before handing me the microphone.

What am I going to say, and then they all looks at me so much it's stressing me out. I clear my throat before I say anything.

"I'm really happy to be here and I'm going to do my best to crush all of you in this school," I say before everyone shouts. I see black looks towards me before I get off the stage, but what was I thinking saying that for?

I get off the stage and head straight to the classroom, as quickly as possible. I must be the first one to arrive as I don't see anyone.

I put myself at the back of the room to be able to be quiet but a few minutes later a girl passed in front of the room, and then she observed me attentively.

"I found the hot chick from earlier, she's in this room." she shouted before a group of girls came in pushing each other.

In an instant they were all in front of me. They asked me my name and then started asking me if I was single and when I said I was it got worse.

I really didn't understand what was going on, never before had so many people been in front of me and especially not girls. I couldn't help but smile as this was a new situation for me.

When she saw me smile she stopped screaming for a moment and then started again.

"She's not only hot, she's got a great smile," said one of the girls.

They continue like this until a teacher enters the room. She looked like she was angry.

"If you're not in this class you'd better leave or you'll get detention" she shouted before leaving the room.

After the teacher's threat the majority of the people in the room left. The room became quiet again to my great pleasure. I wait to see the other people. I see Ayumi and Cloe, why did she have to be in my class. But apart from Chloe and Ayumi I don't know anyone else in this class.

After twenty minutes the class fills up, everyone seems to be there. One boy came and sat next to me just before everyone else entered.

I thought he was really unlucky because when the others arrived a group of girls threatened him saying that if he didn't give up his seat he would be hated by them.

"Let him sit there and then there are seats all over the place." I said calmly.

The group of girls left to find another seat and I looked at the boy in front of me, he looked relieved. He had grey hair, was not very tall or muscular and his eyes were black. He was the kind of person who was victimized.

"Thank you," he whispered to me, it was almost as if he was trying to disappear.

"You're welcome. My name is Ava, what's your name?" I said with a smile, it was time to make friends.

"Oh... I'm Yuto." he says before the teacher comes in.

The teacher walks forward and then takes a quick look at his class before going to his office. I notice Ayumi and Chloe sitting in front. They were never model students though.

The teacher then started to call out the name and when my name came up I answered.

"Present." I raise my hand so that the teacher can see me.

I feel eyes on me and what I like most is when I see Chloe and Ayumi's faces change dramatically. They must not have expected me to change so much.

"Well now that the call is over I'll explain everything."

I don't necessarily have to listen to what the teacher is explaining. It's always the same, he always tells us about our new responsibilities and also a little bit about the program.

"That's it for me," says the teacher before the bell rings.

He had managed to talk for two hours without stopping. To me he is really strong. It soon started to bore me. So I took the opportunity to talk with Yuto for a while.

I found out that he was also a demon, well half of one. He has friends but they are only girls. He confessed to me that he didn't like the boys from his old school very much. And that he had more ease with girls.

" Let's have lunch together?" I ask him and he nods his head in agreement.

We both go out and head to the cafeteria. We walk along the corridors and at every corner girls are watching me. It's embarrassing to be popular.

Once we get to the caferteria which is huge with countless dishes. And after 5 minutes of waiting we end up sitting on a table with Yuto's friends.

"This is Ava," Yuto says briefly before sitting down.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, I'm Ayaka." She said politely.

Ayaka had light brown hair, her eyes were brown and she wore glasses, she was almost as tall as me. I think she must be the mother of the group.

A little being jumps into my arms, she has orange hair and green eyes, she's quite cute she's quite skinny and small as you guessed. Ayaka takes her back to her.

"Stop attacking people like that Mei." Mei looked all sad but it made me laugh, it's good to have friends after all this time.

I feel eyes on us, it's the girls from earlier but also Ayumi. I don't have to turn to her to know that she's watching me. I turn to my plate and eat.

During lunch I get to know Ayaka and Mei, they're really nice, too bad they're not in my class. We spent our time laughing and I even noticed that Yuto seemed to be in love with Mei.

The rest of the day went well, we were assigned a locker where we could put our books away. Then we visited the school and the place that interested me the most was the sword fighting room. There was a girl who intrigued me inside.

The time has finally come to go home. At least there won't be any girls there to chase me around. Before I go home I go to an ice cream shop, me and Ayumi used to come here after every class and buy ice cream.

I'm surprised when I see Chloe and Ayumi inside but I pretend I didn't see them. I pay for my ice cream and when I'm about to leave Chloe stops me.

"Can we talk to you?" she asked.
