Chapter Two

Chapter II: Apolaki is actually a jerk.

3rd Person PoV

Alphyne is not a morning person. Another factor of being a daughter of Mayari. But she knows that she have to be early for the day because she may never know what consequences she may face if she didn't get her butt up.

'So early, I wanna sleep more'

She thought as she rolled over her fluffy bed. She closed her eyes again but she opened it realizing that there is a person knocking so she got up and hurriedly tidying herself.

"Hi"

"What are you doing here?" Alphyne asked as she saw Andrew on the other side of her door, outside Mayari Room.

"Well, I also live here in Trinity building and my sister told me to wake you up so we can get down to start the Morning Ritual." He said then got shut by the door while Alphyne immediately grabbed a white shirt and black jeans and entered the bathroom.

Andrew's PoV

(An-drew)

"Oh wow, great." I said as I had been closed by the door, almost hitting my nose. Alphyne is cruel. I pouted while I wait outside the Mayari room. But I remembered her look when she opened the door. I smiled. She's so cute on her loose shirt and shorts while her hair was a little bit messy. And her piercing bloody red colored eyes was looking as tired as a tire. I chuckled.

After a few minutes, the door opened and I saw Al (I'll call her like that as of today) wearing a white shirt and a black jeans while her hair is on ponytail end. Looking great.

"What?" She asked. I smiled.

"Took you long enough." I said, well in reality, she didn't took long enough to get dressed. She's even faster than me to be honest.

"I'm not, you just easily got bored waiting. And I didn't even told you to wait." She said as we started to walk.

I chuckled earning a look from her.

"Weird." She said. I smiled and I just shook my head.

As soon as we've arrived to the Camp's ritual place, a very wide grass land and there's a huge tree in the middle and it has little statues that we are praying for.

I saw Liel together with Sky and Dawn at the distance and waved at them. I held Al's arm to drag her towards them.

"Let go." She said.

"Sorry." I said and let go.

"Heya! Good morning!" Greeted by the two girls while Liel just nod at the two of us.

"Yo. Good morning guys" I said and we sat at the grass. There are still kids that isn't here and the other Pillars are still not here so we still have time to chitchat this early in the morning.

Alphyne's PoV

"So how was your sleep Alphyne?" Asked Dawn.

"Its okay I guess. I almost sleep again but then Andrew has to wake me up this early." I said and glared at Andrew who looked aside to safe from my glare.

" Looks like you two become this close huh." Liel suddenly said. I raised my eyebrow to him.

"Nope. He is just pissing me off." I said making them laugh. I look at them and smiled also.

"Hey, I'm just right here you know. And my sister told me to wake you up, moon princess." He said. I glared at him again.

"Excuse me--" I started.

"You are excused." And he retorted. Tch.

"You really are pissing me off. And please stop calling me Moon Princess." I said. And I looked down the grass.

"Well technically you are a daughter of Mayari so--" Liel started.

"Liel not you too!" I said and then I noticed that the Pillars yesterday has arrived so I stopped. And then Andrew and the others kneeled so I did too.

A middle aged woman stood in front facing her back on us as she held her baton? cane? Ugh, never mind that, you know, that stick that is always held by magicians? I know you know it. That's the thing. And she was murmuring something that I don't know what language. And they bowed down so I did too.

I'm confused as fudge bar.

"Hey, what are we doing?" I asked Liel who was on my left side.

"You have to pray and give thanks to the Deities and Gods." He said while his eyes closed.

"Thanks" I told him and did my prayers too.

' Hey, I know you're listening. I will not ask in this prayer my questions and I will wait until you tell me the reasons. I just wanna say that, thank you for keeping me safe throughout these years and please guide father. And tell him I love him.'

And then we rise and stood up, the others started to left the grass land. The two Directors was still beside the woman talking to her. I saw Liam looking around and saw me, he waved his hand telling me to come so I did.

"What is it?" I asked as soon as I arrived.

"Alphyne, meet our Katolanon." Sir Liam said. I looked at the woman and she widen her eyes. She put her hand on my head and closed her eyes. I looked at the two of them in question.

"Just relax." Sir Louis said so I did. I just waited until she was finished. She opened her eyes and look at me in the eye.

"You will face a great danger ahead of you. You have to be prepared. You have to train yourself to become strong to withstand the dangers coming." She said. I didn't talk, I'm still processing what she just told me. I'm in danger? Louis told me that I am safe in here but why this woman told me that I am in danger? Huuuh?? I don't get it at all. I'm just a 12 year old kid. How can I ever be strong? Train? I know my body too well!, Training hates my body. Whenever I attend physical activities before, my body get too stiff that it hurts so fudge much! I don't know what to do! I can't! I--

"Alphyne!!!"

"What?!" I suddenly yelp gaining a look from everyone here in the Dining room.

"Sorry." I said then they went back to their businesses. I looked down.

"Alphyne, are you really alright?" I heard Dawn asked but I just kept quiet and started to eat.

"Alphyne, if there's something bothering you, you can always tell us. We are friends and family now okay?" Said Sky. I nodded. Then I felt a cold on my neck so I looked where it came from and saw Liel with a bottled Pocari Sweat.

"Here." He said while giving it to me.

"Drink that to make you calm down." He continued.

"Thanks." I said and drank it.

"You two really looks like cousins." Sky said making me look at her in question.

"Well, genetically, they are." Andrew suddenly said making me look at him.

"And you are the son of the jerk." Liel retorted making the two girls chuckled.

"Oi, that doesn't even connected to what we are talking about." Andrew said as he pouts.

"What...are you all talking about? We are not cousins." I asked.

"Because, this is because of this, Mayari - your mom, her sisters are Hanan, the Goddess of Morning and Tala, the Goddess of stars. So as children of the sisters, Liel and you are cousin, Godly genetically speaking." Dawn explained. I nodded.

"I see. But what was the connection of Andrew here?"

"Andrew's Godly father, Apolaki was making fun of Mayari that one time in a battle, he took her eyes. Although Mayari didn't got angry at him, Apolaki pleaded for forgiveness. But even if he pleaded, the thing that have been broken will be forever be broken." Sky said.

"I see. Apolaki is actually a jerk huh." I said and look at Andrew who was drinking water.

"What?" he asked as he saw me. I smiled.

"Nothing." I said.

"Weird girl."

Yeah, maybe I'm weird but. That's who I am.

"Hey, is there a library here?" I asked them.

"Well yes, it's huge though, but only few who are willing to go there." Dawn said.

"Ey, that's not true. There are more people going in there." Andrew said.

"Yeah yeah yeah, only you Apolaki kids are always inside the library." Liel said making Andrew pouts at him.

"Hmp" he said then crossed his arms.

"And can I ask what day in the daily training?"

"It is always Monday to Friday training lessons, only Saturday and Sundays are rest days." Liel said.

"And Liel here is one of the trainers for night raid." Sky said while she points her spoon to Liel.

Liel gave a confident smile.

"Despite being called porcelain doll, you got guts huh." I said making him frown.

"Oh please Alphyne, not you too." He said. I smiled.

"Yes! I now have a companion in dissing you." Andrew said as he put his arms on the frowning Liel.

"And now I have two idiot companions." He said as we all laugh at his expression.

Maybe I just have to deal with my fate. Together with them inside this Camp and maybe just maybe they become more precious than myself.

3rd Person's PoV

"If you think you can stop how much power a God has, then you are a simple minded buffoon you are." Said the professor as some of the students were listening while some other are just murmuring to themselves as the first afternoon class of Alphyne was being in session.

Some students are may be doing some strategies - the Apolaki kids of course, some who are just listening- the Tala and Hanan kids, some kids were drawing onto their notebooks some weapons that can be use in a battle - the Amanikable kids. And some kids were just looking bored or just looking outside. I was probably because of their Guro was just talking nonsense while giving her own personal opinion on matters that doesn't involved their battle coming up.

And Alphyne was starting to get bored and at the same time starting to get sleepy. She sighed and maybe her luck is on her side, the bell rang telling everyone that class session has now ended and every demi should be in the field for their training hours. Everybody got up and some were stretching their limbs for the one hour and a half for being stuck.

Everyone of them got out and went towards the field. There are many kinds of weapons on the long table at the side. The kids took their respective and chosen weapons.

'Can you even believe that? Kids at the age of - estimating from 12 to 18 - are picking sharp objects and you should learn how to use that to fight?' Alphyne thought as she walk towards the long table with different kinds of weaponry.

Alphyne's PoV

There are spears, bolos, swords, katanas, knives, guns, and bows and arrows and some things that I just realize that can be use for fighting; example of that was this tiny little piece of metal...a needle. And the different kinds of kitchen knives....

Oh really? A needle? What kind of human...I mean demi... Sorry I still can't get used to this but, this is insane, I might or will say every time.... I will say this every time. This is insane. This, this kind of thing. Yeah this being me who is a daughter of a Goddess - mind you, she's also the current leader of the 4th trinity, the strongest Gods together with Apolaki and Sitan with an issue that I still don't know what and I don't care what is it. So yeah...

I took the collection of knives in a scroll alike cloth at the table and put that at my thighs and I also took a katana and two guns and also put them at my back. I noticed Liel and Andrew looking at me.

"What?"

"Nothing much. Just surprised that despite you being new in this field, you took good weapons. But the question is, do you know how to use that?" Liel asked.

"No." I easily said making them animatedly fall.

"Eh? Are you serious?" Andrew said. I looked at the others walking towards the center field.

"That's why I'm here to train, ain't I. I am willing to learn."

The two of them just look at each other and smile.

"Yeah, come on!"

3rd Person's PoV

"The first thing you always have to remember in wielding a sword is to protect your front body." Andrew said as he position himself as if he was facing an enemy, his sword was pointed diagonally upward as his knees were bended. His lower half was positioned horizontally as his center of gravity. His right leg took a step back, bend a little and position himself. Alphyne copied his position. She held her katana at her right hand pointing at a direction while her left hand was positioned in front of her. She attacked the air in front of her and tried to experiment her movements as she waves and slashes the air.

Andrew just stood there while he looked at Alphyne - how she was attacking and experimenting her movement's.

She look like the kind of person who watches action, I wonder. Her movements were as if she was facing an enemy. Andrew thought as he was still watching and then, Alphyne suddenly stopped.

"Why are you interested in sword fight?" She said. Andrew looked at her confusedly.

"What--?"

"Are you open with that kind of thing?" Alphyne continued her training.

"Hah?" Andrew is really confused of what Al was talking about.

"Sword fight between men, are you okay with that kind of thing?"

"Ah. Of course. Men have some things to deal with by using swords than guns. And sometimes using a sword felt different than handling a gun."

"I see. But that's not even the thing that I am talking about." She said still slashing the air.

"What kind of swordfight are you pertaining to? Chivalry? Wooden sword fight? Dojo?" Andrew asked. Alphyne stopped and looked at him. She chuckled. Andrew looked at her more confused.

"Why are you even interested in that? After all of this training you thought of that? Maybe we can asks Sir Liam if can we have a horse to train to." Andrew said that made Alphyne burst out laughing again.

"What?" Andrew asked as a smile form on his face. Just seeing Alphyne laugh like this gave him such a warmth he doesn't know.

"Well, I'm just curious." Alphyne said as her laughter died down.

"Of what?" Andrew asked still smiling. He really don't know what Alphyne was talking about.

"You really is something, Al." He just said still smiling and shook his head after Alphyne didn't say anything more.

"I'm not a thing." He heard her say. She continued what she was doing.

"Hey, let's spar." Andrew said and then suddenly Alphyne's sword was already pointed towards his neck. Andrew smirked and returned her first attack.

Sound of clashing swords was heard in the other side of the field as Andrew and Alphyne sparred. Slashing and attacking back and forth was seen at the movement of the two. Nothing and no one was trying to join the two in their sparring session as the other campers was quite scared or are amazed at their focus and their intent to fight or how they fight. It is just like they were watching an action movie in person, without any cut and in a whole different level.

"What? Are you all just going to watch them fight? What don't you all tried more to accomplished your wanting to learn how to fight? We are here to learn how to fight so get your ass on the run!" Maggie Napoleon the Pillar of Dumakulem suddenly said making the other campers continued with their training. She crossed her arms and watch Alphyne and Andrew sparred. She was wearing a black leather jacket, black pants and a combat boots while her long braided dirty-white colored hair flutter by the wind.

"We are quite lucky isn't it?" Angelina Ramos, Pillar of Anitun Tabu said as she sat at the grass besides Maggie. She crossed her leg while she played with the grass. She's also watching the two fight. She is wearing some thing like a combat boots, combat shorts and a white polo shirt. She was actually looked like a cowboy girl, a hat excluded.

"Probably, we don't know yet. She was just beginning. She's still has many more to learn than to be hunted." Maggie said and walked back towards the others. Angelina sighed and continued watching Alphyne.
