Ch 2 Who was h̶e̶/She?

At Grandma Athoya's garden.

"Reporting ma'am!"

A tall girl dressed in a black suit and pants came knocking on the glass door to the botanical garden.

"Cone inside!"

Granny Athoya turned to welcome her with a warm smile.

"As expected by the master, it seems the other party was kept up by 'coincidence'

The girl handed a black leathered file to Granny Athoya.

"I was also able to keep Young Miss from any harm!"

She added.

"Who was with her?"Granny took a seat,

"I would like to talk to them! A little concerned about how she handled the situation. "

"Sure ma'am I'll send them right away to you, also what shall we do next about the-

Granny cut her off,

"Oh you can let it relax for a while, let's give them a chance to give us an explanation!"

"Excuses you mean!"

She bowed and left swiftly.

The Athoya Textile, North Face.

May walked inside the Athoya skyscraper which was busy as usual with everything one could find in a famous textile and garments factory. She took the lift straight to the top floor and strode her way to the main office, It was empty.

"Oh, come on!"

She threw herself on the sofa and sighed.

'I wonder what am supposed to do now, should I be expecting a call from this man?

Or would Granny change the guy altogether?

I mean if I think about it, what they did was kind of rude!'

She thought to herself.

"I'm pretty sure you shouldn't be giving much thought about whatever happened!"

May smiled as she heard the female voice.

"Thaayaa!!"

She jumped and ran to the door to hug the girl who stood opening her arms wide with a grin.

"There there" Thaya patted May's head like a mother would and hugged her tight.

"Mmmm...only you can lift my spirits sis..."

May looked up at Thaya and blinked.

"Oh I'm honoured

Thaya pulled back,

"Now come take a seat."

They both sat side by side on the sofa facing each other.

"Also I'm pretty sure that granny has already decided what to do about it, if you have some other idea then I can help you."

Thaya leaned forward,

"Sister!!" May teared up,

"I was so scared sitting there while everyone was watching me with strange eyes...waaa waaa"

"There there my baby sister did something really brave thing huh!"

Thaya lightly hugged her and let May sob all she wanted.

Granny Athoya's office

Knock knock.

"Grandm- Ah I mean ma'am!"

"Haha ha, grandma would be fine too."

Granny Athoya looked at the person before her, who stood tall, which short brown hair, her eyes sparkling as she faced Granny Athoya.

"Hmmm, so you were the one looking after Little May?

Granny Athoya motioned her to sit.

"Y-yes! I was there Grandma-ma'am!"

She squirmed in her chair with embarrassment.

"It's fine just call me Grandma!,

Granny smiled,

"You seem as young as May."

"I am. Actually, we both went to the same school as well I was good at sports so I joined the force.

She paused and noticed how fast she blurted out,

"Although we weren't friends or acquainted as you could tell in the academy there was no way for someone like me to get close to her!"

The girl let out a coy.

"Oh. why is that?"

"Because I'm not a noble or a high-order offspring as they would rank!"

She looked at Granny her expression didn't change,

"I know you probably haven't heard of those ideas, but the world has changed so much."

"Must have been hard for you!

Granny stood up,

"But don't worry about all that when you're under my command-

Hmmm..say when you're here as one of my own you're as equal to everyone else here."

Granny placed her hands on the girl's head softly brushing,

"Grandma..."

"Yes that's it, think of me as your grandma."

She smiled with her eyes closed somehow putting all of the girl's worries and questions to sleep all at once.

Athoya Skyscraper Canteen.

"Ohhh... how unusual for you to be falling for a Stanger!"

Thaya raised her brows questioning the integrity of May's story.

"I know

May looked away,

"But this person looked really pretty at that moment, maybe it was because the sun ray was directly reflecting on his body..or maybe it was because I was feeling down?"

"You don't have to have any reasons for liking someone!"

Thaya placed the prepared meat plate on May's side.

"He also played our very favourite song from our school days. It can't be a coincidence right?"

May persistent looked for a valid answer from her sister.

"Hmmm... it certainly can't be."

Thaya assured.

"Now I wonder what his name is..."

May murmuring under her node grabbed the neatly pieced meat cutlets.

Grandma Athoya's office.

"So you're nobody came in that 40 minutes?"

Granny had a series expression,

"Yes, I was hoping that someone would show up at least to keep the courtesy but, it was just Miss May all alone."

The girl bowed her head,

"I apologize I couldn't interfere and send young miss back sooner."

"Oh, No need to worry about that!"

Granny patted her on the shoulder as she passed walking here and there.

"..."

"I just wanted to make sure that the Rulenns were lying about not finding May in the restaurant after 20 minutes they ran late!"

"That's an absolute lie!!!"

The girl clenched her fist,

"How dare they slander young mis-"

She stopped as she noticed Granny enjoying her bold expression.

"Haha let me take care of the Rulenns.

Granny pressed,

"But tell me how did May handle the situation."

"I think young miss is not comfortable with the crowd, although I can clearly understand compared to her majestic personality all the common folk don't seem interestin-"

The girl was cut off by Granny's heartfelt laughter.

"Hahahah!!"

"..." She could only wait for Granny to finish.

"Oh oh my...am sorry.!"

Granny apologized as she placed both her hands on the girl's shoulder.

"Huh? Eh?"

And facing the baffled girl with a warm expression Granny inquired,

"What is your name young miss? You seem to have a high opinion of May."

"..."

"How would you like to be her personal helper?"

"Ehhhh?"

Granny laughed at the girl's wide range of expressions as cute as they were.

"So your name, will I have to look it up myself?"

Granny smiled.

"Hh? Oh, I apologize, for the late introduction.

She bowed again,

"I'm Saya Howl of the house of Arkasya!"

The girl smiled with her face turning all red.
