Transparent egos

You eyed me,

I gazed at you,

but across the glass wall...

You wanted to hear,

I wanted to say,

but failed because of the glass wall...

We caught the moment

as your eyes met mine and mine met yours,

I wanted to seek reassurance in your presence,

but it wasn't feasible because of the glass wall...

You wanted to pour out your heart,

and I wanted to hug you but couldn't because of the glass wall...

Because you and I were both present,

so was the glass wall 

We wanted to burst into tears in each other's embrace,

but couldn't because of the glass wall...

Although,

The wall was transparent,

And it was

nothing but our egos...
