Adrienne laid on her bed. Her mind wandered back to that night seven years ago. On nights when she couldn't find sleep, she dwelled on those moments. After the elder had forced her against her wishes, she almost died and even her breaths were raspy.
They had tossed her into the river. Even if she forgot other things, she couldn't forget that moment when she was violated and thrown into the river to die.
She would have died. She had prayed for death itself but it didn't come. After they threw her into the river, she was found and nursed back to life.
When she woke up,they told her that she had been in and out for almost seven days, they had even thought that she would die.
However she had slowly healed with the help of their physician. It wasn't easy because she was not only violated but she also had injuries on her body because she had struggled with the Alpha and he had slapped her.
He was angry that she had dared fight against him. She would kill him. Adrienne clenched her fists as tears streamed down her cheeks onto the pillow.
The thoughts of that night hung upon her life like a death sentence. Day by day, she lived as though it would happen again. Even if it didn't, that night was enough to remind her that she was a scarred Omega no matter how much she tried denying it.
It was because of the elder she couldn't walk alone at night. When it was day, she would work herself to a point and play as she wanted with others in the palace but when it was almost dusk, her maid would escort inside.
She couldn't even sleep without someone by her side. And even while the person laid there, candlelights must be on or she'd have no sleep. If she tried to fall asleep, she would wake up from her dream with a screech.
It had happened so many times that her maid no longer slept with the other maid's. A small bed had been moved into the room for her to occupy it. Once Adrienne screamed she would be alerted and rush off to her bed to help her.
It became worse when it was winter. Winter marked another year it happened. Last winter was so bad that her maid had slept with her in bed while she held her down.
Sleep had now become her enemy and constant headaches racked her body so hard since she didn't take enough rest. On days when she exhausted her strength during the day, she'd sleep by dusk because she would awake once it was dark.
She would lay down to catch some sleep. Sometimes when it didn't come, she would have to pick a book in the library so she would read. Her maid knew what she liked so she'd select five good books from the castle's library and keep them by her side so she could wake up to read them in the morning.
Adrienne burrowed into the pillow.
The people who found her almost dead brought her to this enemy territory. The Velvet Moon Pack were the sworn enemies of her people, she wondered why they had saved her.
When she was fully awake, she shuddered thinking that they would hurt her. However they had calmed her down and assured her that she was safe. She had no choice than to believe them since they had rescued her.
It was the only logical thing to do. She didn't have anyone back at Glengariff and she couldn't also go back there where they had condemned her to die. She had to remain with them. After resuscitation, they asked her some questions which she tried her best to answer.
However she didn't tell them who did it. She left that a secret for her to think about. She had vowed never to forgive them and she didn't want anyone in her way of revenge when she started the plans.
They soon realized what happened to her when she confided in them. They might have been enemies with her pack but they couldn't let a young girl die, so they made her swear allegiance to their pack.
Adrienne swore the oath, she had even made a vow to them before in her heart that she would live her life for them. Since they had rescued her, she owed them her life. She would do whatever they wanted her to do while she bid her time slowly for revenge on them.
Since then, Adrienne had been living with them. They cared for her and made her part of their own. She felt more alive in this pack than she felt in hers. There was love and peace here. Though her nights were plagued with bad dreams and she couldn't sleep well.
She was loved, that was all that mattered to her at the moment. She wished her father wouldn't be disappointed in her in death, but she had no choice.
She had to live here with them for now. Soon she'd bid them goodbye.
She would miss everyone here including her maid but her path had been marked since the alpha had forced her against her wishes. It had been marked for revenge and vengeance of the Alpha of Glengariff.
For making her lose her home at such a young age and for ruining her life that all she was left with were shambles. She couldn't live a normal life like others.
Even with the love they showered on her, the tattoo on her wrist easily set her apart from the Omegas in this pack, so at times, she was treated differently.
The elder had ruined her life. She would slowly allow him to watch his life fall apart one by one while she stabbed him from behind. She would make sure her face was the last thing he saw before he closed those eyes of his in death.
