Only One Bed

Sophia knew she shouldn't have let Matthew touch her like that. She realized it now, but just a few minutes ago, resisting him felt impossible. She had almost given up her first time. If Ronan hadn't interrupted…

For once, she was thankful for Ronan's jerk behavior. She liked Matthew, but she wasn't ready to give herself to him or anyone. She had just been caught up in the moment.

Jumping up, she quickly put her dress back on. Maybe she'd lock herself in her bedroom until tomorrow. She wasn't tired enough to sleep, but she definitely didn't feel like dealing with anyone, especially the twins.

She was sick of them fighting over her.

Liz would've found the situation funny. She probably would've said it was romantic. But Sophia found nothing romantic about being Ronan's mate. He looked at her like she was some bug to be squashed under his feet.

A noise behind her made her spin around.

Great… One of them was back already. Why couldn't they just leave her alone?

"Which one are you?" she asked, her voice filled with irritation.

"What do you think?" he grinned, and she immediately realized it was Ronan, the evil twin. Only he would look so mischievous when he smiled. Also, he wasn't wearing a shirt.

"Get out of here, right now!" she screamed, hoping Matthew would hear and come to her rescue.

"So you figured it out. How come my brother gets the sweet talk while I get the sass?" Ronan barked.

"You're really asking me why? Because you're an asshole, and you deserve to be treated like one," she shot back.

"I thought women loved assholes." He winked.

"You thought wrong," she snarled. "Now, are you going to leave me alone or not?"

"Not," he said, his grin widening.

"Excuse me?" She was losing her mind. Why did he have to keep torturing her?

"I'm not going to leave you alone tonight. In fact, I'll be staying right here," Ronan smirked.

"What do you mean you'll be staying right here?" she asked, her voice trembling with disbelief.

"I meant what I said. I'm sleeping here in this room."

She stared at him, dumbfounded, trying to process his words. "You're sleeping here? Then where am I sleeping?"

"You're sleeping here too," he said, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"But there's only one bed!" she squealed.

"Yes, my genius. You're finally getting it. You're sleeping right next to me," Ronan said irritably.

Her mind raced. "You can't be serious…"

"Look, let me explain this to you properly since you're too dumb to understand on your own. I'm going to sleep here in your room because I don't want Matthew coming back and stealing your virginity from me."

Steal her virginity from him? Was he serious?

"That's stupid! He wouldn't be stealing anything. If anything, I'm willing to give it to him because he's a way better person than you," she growled.

"Oh yeah? Well, I won't allow it," Ronan grumbled.

"You have no right to control me like that!" she exclaimed.

"And yet, you have no choice but to listen to me because I have my ways of getting what I want. Your first time belongs to me," he said through gritted teeth.

She stared at him, completely speechless. "You can't possibly think I would give my first time to you."

"You're not giving it to Matthew either. Now, let's get ready for bed," he ordered.

"You…you can't force me to have sex with you!" she cried, panic rising in her chest.

"I'm not trying to have sex with you right now. We're just going to sleep next to each other, that's all. I just need to be in the room in case Matty comes back," he grumbled.

This was absolutely insane. But what choice did she have? Ronan didn't listen to her protests. He did whatever he wanted.

"You promise you won't do anything to me? Why should I trust you after the way you've treated me?" she whimpered.

"You have my word. I'm not going to force myself on you. I told you, it's not my style," Ronan grumbled.

Whatever.

Lying halfway on the bed, he patted the spot next to him. "Come to Daddy."

She rolled her eyes before reluctantly joining him on the bed. She decided to force herself to stay awake all night. There was no way she could trust him.

"What are you doing?" he barked after a while.

She raised her eyebrows. "What do you mean?"

"Why aren't you sleeping?" he asked, sounding annoyed.

"I'm not letting my guard down in front of you," she shook her head firmly.

Ronan grunted, then turned on the TV. "I guess we're not sleeping tonight."

"I didn't say you couldn't…" she muttered.

"Just shut up and pick a movie," Ronan sneered.

She snatched the remote from his hand and aggressively clicked through the channels. Her body burned with anger. All she wanted was a good night's sleep, and now she couldn't even have that. Maybe she should've let Matthew stay. Now that she thought about it, giving him her first time didn't seem so bad.

Her neck turned hot, and she felt herself blush as she thought about his naked body, sculpted like a Greek god.

Suddenly, Ronan grabbed her and pulled her to his chest. She couldn't breathe for a moment as he held her too tightly, crushing her. "St…stop…let go!"

"Stop thinking about my brother's body," he growled in her ear.

"Stop listening to my thoughts! They're private!" she whined, struggling to escape his grip. "I can think about whoever I want! And he is my mate, so I can think about him all I want!"

"Oh yeah? Talk about him more and see what happens," Ronan hissed, flipping her onto her stomach and pinning her wrists behind her back. "I could snap these tiny hands like twigs."

"Do it. Break my hands. You like torturing me mentally, so you might as well hurt me physically too. It'll only make me hate you more," she whimpered.

He released her hands. "It's no fun to hurt weak little girls," he muttered under his breath.

Remembering what Matthew and Valentina said about Ronan's temper, Sophia decided to keep her own anger in check. Maybe she shouldn't push him too far. What if he really did lose control? She decided to play nice for now.

"I won't think about him if you're nice to me," she said quietly.

"You won't think about him because I said so," he snapped.

Ugh! He's infuriating!
