ASHER’S POV
I ran my hands along the map that lay on the small wooden table in front of me. Roy was standing in front of me, his eyes glued to the map. The map was an outline of the dark king’s palace, highlighting the base, and the surroundings.
“We have already cleared here, and here and here,” Roy said as he pointed to the three anchors of the palace.
I nodded. Our attack on the dark king’s defences had gone better than anticipated. We had come to the border of the light kingdom, and set up camp here, all just to wait for the sake king’s forces to arrive. With the help of Carl, he notified us that the dark king was going to spring a surprise attack on us, so we got him first.
Now that his forces were out of the way, we still remained in the camp, a bit wary that he might send more soldiers our way. Leaving would be too risky.
