"What?" That was an unexpected answer from her.
"Have you said enough?" she repeated in an unfriendly tone, with impatience in her eyes.
"Rory, my brother really loves you. He didn't do it on purpose." Those words also scared Hailee.
"Enough, I've heard too many of these things; it is good for me, and it is to protect me. You use an imposing reason to make me believe and understand him. Then, why can't you all persuade him and make him trust me? Have you all underestimated me, or overestimated Wendy? I don't want to listen to those words anymore. He chose everything, so he suffered today."
Rory's coldness completely broke out at that moment. She remained cold, but couldn’t hide the sadness lingering in her heart.
Hailee didn't expect Rory to say those things, especially not at that moment. She held Rory's hand in distress and said, "Rory, I'm sorry. It's all because of my negligence. I shouldn't have said those words to make you sad."
