"Don't drink it, it’s contaminated with cork," a voice said.
Rory leaned in to smell it and indeed, there was a strong damp odor.
She looked at the person who had warned her, ad found an old man wearing tattered pants. "How did you know?"
"I smelled it," he replied.
Rory placed her hand on the glass next to the contaminated one and he spoke again, "Don't drink that one either. The concentration of sulfur dioxide is too high. These cunning merchants only add preservatives to the wine and don't understand what's good for the drinker."
"How about this one?" Rory pointed to another glass.
The old man looked at it, and nodded. "That one smells good, you can drink it."
Rory thought she had finally found a suitable wine and took a sip.
Finally, the old man spoke about something that took her attention again. "It doesn't smell like there's any problem, and when you drink it, it should have a faint nutty taste, right?"
"Yes."
