Alexias nods sadly, staring back at the children for a moment before turning his gaze back to me and looking worried, "are you alright?"
"I'm fine." I reply as a smile forms on my lips. This is not the first time I've heard that question, but it's still nice to hear. It was nice to hear it when it first came from him too, though.
"Are you sure?" He asks again, voice a little bit softer this time. We both know what the answer is going to be, but we're both pretending otherwise for the sake of his ego.
"Yeah," I shrug, "I'm okay."
He looks at me with concern written all over his face, but he doesn't say anything further. After a while, he just sighs heavily and says, "well... if you change your mind, let me know."
