3: HUNTER WOLFE

HUNTER 'S POV

Hunter was on his way to his cousin's - Stacy - office building for a meeting when he suddenly stopped walking and entering the glass entrance door to the building. Even the security who was guarding the entrance was looking at him with confusion. But he ignored it. He instead took a deep breath and closed his eyes and inclined his head sideways to concentrate more if what he really felt and smell was real.

His mate was nearby.

So near that he could practically pinpoint and reach her if he made his move.

The box of the pastries he bought from a nearby coffeeshop was almost forgotten when he unconsciously tightened his grip on it.

If his assistant who was with him didn't rescue the pastry box from his grip, it would be all crushed and gone to waste. With him was his assistant and one security slash assistant.

Hunter really didn't need them with him since he could do things on his own and in his own way, but they insist on going with him. Since he was like the future leader of their clan both, so he needed people around him even if he didn't want to.

And Hunter guess that at times like this, like saving the pastries from his grip, they're quiet useful. Specially when his hormoned were going nuts because his mate was nearby.

And yeah, if no one could guess yet, he's an Alpha werewolf and future leader of their clan, and at the same time the CEO of their family business. His father - the current Alpha of their clan, stepped down from being the company CEO the moment Hunter learned all the ins and outs of their family business. His father told him that instead of working in an office, he preferred to spend time with his wife and focus on their clan. And Hunter understand that and he didn't mind. He knew his parents prefer the countryside. Right now, they were in Montana, on one of their villa's, where most of their pack members were living in the neighborhood or inside the vast land of their fifty Acre land they owned.

Now, back to his mate.

Hunter took a deep breath again ane angled his head and body where he could detect the pull of his mate.

He couldn't explain it but when a werewolf find and felt his mate nearby, it was automatic that they could detect them as if there was a homing beacon calling him to his mate.

Like a man possess, he automatically walked towards where the pull was coming from.

"Mr. Wolfe! Where are you going?" his security called him, curious and worried.

"My mate. She's here." He told his security.

Actually, his assistant and his security were both from his own pack. They're both beta's and to be able to blend in and protect him from possible enemies from other packs, they decided to work for him as an assistant and security.

His assistant and security then started following him behind silently but also being alert with their surrounding. Making sure that while Hunter was busy looking and approaching his mate, that no one could hurt or attack him or his mate.

Hunter didn't really need to go so far, since just a few steps away from him, the woman - his mate, just got out of the Uber she was riding and closing it's door. He quickly approached her without really having any plans on what he would do next. He just wanted to be close to her at this moment. Even his inner wolf was excited to be near here. If he could imagine his inner wolf, it'd probably be jumping and howling around in excitement.

Though Hunter didn't expect that there would be a little commotion the first time he would meet his mate.

He was approaching near her when she suddenly turned around quickly and her forehead collided on his shoulder.

Oops!

He was worried since they collided quiet a bit harder than he thought. He even heard her made some surprised and hurt noise.

Before he could say anything, his mate started talking and giving some reason that she was in a hurry and she was almost late.

And when she looked up at him and their eyes met, Hunter literally stopped breathing. She was gorgeous. And all he wanted to do was to hugged her and enveloped her in his arms and kissed her with so much passion.

But he stopped himself to do what his mind was imagining and telling him to do. Even his inner wolf was whining for him to act fast.

But he controlled himself.

They just met and he didn't want to look like a perverted stalker.

So, all he could do to stop himself from doing something crazy in the middle of the New York sidewalk, he ended up staring at her and basking in her beauty. Even her voice was so angelic.

And then, in a blink of an eye after she said her apologies, she was hurrying away from him.

Wait.

Why was she apologizing anyway? It was Hunter who suddenly approach her.

And he didn't even get to ask for her name.

He sighed as he followed her with his gaze.

Then he frowned. His mate entered the building he was also about to enter earlier. Her cousin's building.

Was her mate working for his cousins?

Now he had a new lead.

And he also berated himself of not visiting his cousin's office building soon enough if this was where he could find his mate.

"It seems fate really is on my side. My mate is really so near to me." Hunter declared with a smile as he started walking towards the building's entrance. The security greeted him.

He stopped in front of one of the security. "Do you know that woman who entered before me just now?" he inquired.

The security frowned, recalled who Hunter was talking about and smiled. "Ah, that's Ms. Chloe Evans. She's best friends with Ms. Stacy Wolfe." He informed him.

Hunter nodded. "Thanks." He said before he continued walking towards the elevator.

While waiting for the elevator to arrive and open, Hunter was in deep thought. Thinking why he didn't have the chance to meet Chloe before if she's Stacy's best friend. If they met before, then he would've known earlier that she was his mate.

When the elevator's door opened, Hunter entered it with a purpose followed by his assistants.

"It's you!" was Hunter's mate's - Chloe - first exclaimed after seeing her entered the door to his cousin's office.

Hunter inclined his head with a smile that he hoped was friendly enough and not looking like a foolish smile that he was glad to see and meet his mate. "It's nice seeing you again." he winked at her.

And his mate blushed. He wanted to chuckle for seeing how affected she was with his charm but he must behave since they just met so it would be rude.

While his cousin Stacy was frowning curiously at them as she looked from her best friend to her cousin back and forth.

Since she was sitting a bit away from them so Hunter could guess that his cousin was yet to smell him on Chloe. Since he and Chloe bumped into each other earlier. So, it won't be a surprise if Chloe smelled somewhat like him that only a werewolf's heightened senses could detect.

Actually, now that he found his mate, he was feeling territorial and as much as possible he wanted her to smell like him so others would know that she was his mate.
