4: Imperial Family

Wearing the symbolic clothing of the imperial family, Shen entered the dining room.

The room was vast. The colors were vibrant, highlighting the robes of the imperial family.

In the middle of the room was a huge long table, all the way at the end was a crowned figure.

The man had short black hair and a well-sculpted body that fitted his robe.

Sitting in front of him were 5 other people. 2 others wore imperial robes while the rest wore vibrant colors.

Shen smiled wryly to himself, 'The colors do not match at all,'

All heads turned and nodded to him as he entered.

Shen lightly bowed to the emperor, whose face lighted as he entered.

"I greet his imperial majesty, Emperor of the Li empire, I apologize for being the last to arrive,"

"Haha! It's alright Wen, you may have a seat next to your mother. I'm glad you were able to heal, congratulations, and welcome back," The emperor smiled, lighting out a calming aura.

Shen nodded with a slight smile, "Thank you, your? i-imperial majesty?"

The emperor cringed, "As my son, you don't need to address me so formally, even in public. Also, you can go to the treasury whenever you want, just tell me what skills you'll be using,"

"A-alright, thank you father," Shen happily took a seat beside the empress who was sitting in front of the emperor. In front of her was the second empress, empress Lin. Besides empress, Lin was her 2 sons and her daughter.

As soon as he sat down, the second empress's kids greeted him.

"Welcome back elder brother Wen,"

"Welcome back brother Wen,"

"Welcome back brother,"

The eldest, Manxiang Li greeted first, who was 12. Followed by the second, Lian Li, who was 10. The youngest and only daughter, Ai Li, who was 7, greeted him last.

Shen gave a sweet short smile, "Thank you, I apologize beforehand if I do something wrong. When I woke up I lost my memories, so..."

Everyone nodded, "Brother Wen, we were told beforehand, we're sorry to hear that," Manxiang Li apologized.

"There is no need to feel sorry, you didn't do anything anyway,"

"Brother Wen? How did you fall in a coma anyway?"Ai Li asked.

Shen smiled wryly, "I don't remember,"

Shen could feel an awkward tension coming up so he quickly changed the topic while waiting for the food.

"So... what spirit realms are you guys in?"

Manxiang Li proudly answered first, "I'm in the 3rd stage of the Spirit Refinement Realm!"

"I'm in the 8th Foundation!"

"I haven't started yet..." Ai Li said, clearly saddend.

"Haha, that's alright, just like your brothers, you'll probably be very fast in your growth,"

Click, Clack.

The huge door where Shen came from, opened.

"Your Imperial Majesties, your dinner is ready," A man with a fancy black and white suit entered and bowed.

"Thanks, Karsten, you can go," The emperor quickly dismissed him.

The man bowed and quickly left. After he left, the huge door closed and opened again this time, maids and cooks entered with carts of food.

All the food had a particular sparkle. Seeing that Shen was interested in what it was, the emperor spoke out, "Please eat as much as you can, all of these foods are made with a specific kind of qi ingredient, these will help your cultivation,"

Shen quickly but properly tried all the food. After each bite or swallow, Shen could feel a special kind of energy course through him, coming from the food.

After almost half an hour, Shen could feel that he'd reached the mid-stage of the 7th stage of the Spirit Refinement Realm.

'My bottleneck? Did it disappear after I transmigrated?'

Soon after, everyone finished dining and after saying their goodbyes, they headed back to their own respective rooms.

During that night, Shen found books about "Triggering Pressure Points." If Shen memorized the pressure points, he could win a small fight with just a finger. When Shen's eyes got foggy and tired, he chose that moment to sleep.

For the next couple of days, Shen found himself immersed with books about pressure points. He made drawings, diagrams, charts, and lists about them, trying to memorize them in the most efficient way.

After memorizing a good half of the topic, Shen decided to cultivate.

'Empress Fay said that I use a cultivation skill called the "Sword of Light." I should probably pick that up at the treasury soon, it sounds good,'

Shen hurried to find someone.

He was currently in his room, so finding someone was not hard. The closest person to him was a guard who was standing in front of his door. The guard wore bright red and black armor and was holding a spear with a sword on his belt and a crossbow on his back.

"Excuse me, sir, if you have the time, can you please escort me to the royal treasury?"

The guard bowed, "Of course, your majesty, that's what I'm here for,"

Shen followed the guard to the treasury which was just a small room with a strange door with lines all over it.

"Are you sure this is it?"

"Yes, there is a formation there that'll teleport you to the treasury, however, you must put your hand on it first to activate it,"

"Ah, I see,"

Shen placed his hand where a series of lines connected and the door flashed a bright blue.

The next thing Shen saw was a vast room filled with coins, weapons, fruits, rings, necklaces, shelves of books, almost anything you could imagine.
