1: Personal Hell

"Err, hello sir, you can get your car's extended warran-"

-Slam

A door abruptly shut, interrupting a scammer.

"Damn, why do they always have to come?!" Shen Li muttered. "#%^(&^(% scammers, can't even leave me alone..."

After years of hard work, he finally achieved his goal of having a peaceful good life. Well, having a peaceful life is impossible so, uneventful would match his lifestyle more.

As someone who was orphaned, bullied, and detested by most, it was surprising he grew up successful.

His successes were, minor. He got good grades and achievements in all his years of school, he became a businessman with a net worth of several million, and most importantly, had an uneventful life despite being a businessman.

Shen quietly rested back on his bed. Although he was rich, he wasn't famous, in fact, barely anyone knew his real appearance except for a few close business partners who couldn't be considered as a "friend." Because of this, he could live happily in a normal/average house.

Shen quietly slept, preparing himself for the next day. A specific meeting would happen...

Shen looked up at the towering building in front of him. On top of the building was a huge sign,

[Tennard Company]

Tennard company, a company that centers on designing and architecture while Shen's company focused on the construction of buildings, roads, and more. Not quite similar but not quite different.

Shen calmly walked to where the meeting would take place. Even from the outside, it was obvious, he was anxious. Why? Well, because the person who now owns this company is none other than Shen's longtime bully.

As Shen walked inside the vast room, a familiar face was already seated at the far edge of the table, with 3 bodyguards.

Shen smirked, "Ah, hello Mr. Tennard, ready for the meeting?"

Rash Tennard scoffed, "Greetings Shen Li, it's surprising you managed such a high spot in just a few years, congratulations. We'll start the meeting soon,"

Shen sat down in front of Rash Tennard, Shen's bully and the current CEO of the Tennard Company. "My secretary isn't here yet, let's wait for him for a few more minutes,"

And as if Shen's word was magic, the door opened, showing Secretary Tim, Min's secretary and his closest friend.

Shen's face brightened at Tim, someone who helped make his company. He had clear glasses, a nervous babyface, and was wearing a blue fancy suit that didn't match his face quite well, unlike Shen shown as wearing a fancy suit with a rose, Shen's handsome face matched his suit.

"Hello sir, sorry for being last, I had a few issues I had to attend to,"

"Ahaha! It's alright Tim, if it's about our company, it's fine, you're doing much more than I could ever ask for,"

Tim looked down, "Thank you, sir,"

-Clap Clap

"Well, since we're all here, let us start our meeting," Rash clapped. Afterward, he tapped the table with his pen.

-Tap

"So, Mr. Li, how shall we split the profits?"

"Well, seventy to thirty. Our company will have the seventy because we'll be doing most of the work,"

-Tap

"No way! We already agreed that we would give in money 50-50 to buy the needed items for your company's work, so it should be fifty to fifty. Our companies would be doing equal work," Rash argued.

"Absolutely not, our companies are equal in workers and money but our company pays them more,"

"Well..."

-Tap

"Also, all your company would be doing is drawing a building and stuff, while our company would actually be doing something,"

"...Well, I guess, but... fifty five to forty-five! us 45 you guys 55,"

"No thanks, at the very least a sixty forty..."

"Fine,"

"Deal?"

"Deal..."

After shaking hands and writing down the details, they started talking again.

"Mr. Li, I have something to say,"

"Please go ahead,"

"Congratulations on making it this far, you've been very successful with your friend there," Rash leaned his head towards Tim.

"Thank you," Tim and Shen replied,

"But the main thing I'd like to say is..."

-Tap

"Goodbye, we have a deal see you never,"

Shen had a confused expression, "Indeed we have a deal but, the meeting isn't over...?"

"For you it is,"

The bodyguards behind Rash drew their guns, pointing them at Shen.

Tears appeared on Tim's face, "I- I... Please forgive me..."

"What...!?" Shen quickly raised his hands.

"M-my family t-they..." Tim studdered,

"Goodbye Shen, your company will be in good hands,"

Various small bangs erupted as small metal pellets headed towards a single target.

'Silencers, at least they prepared for that little much...' Shen thought, 'They didn't even need that many shots though...'

"Well, that was unexpected, at least for it to happen that soon," Shen sighed. 'I always wanted to know how death would feel like,'

Shen walked around but all around him was infinite darkness.

"Is this my personal hell? Endless darkness? I guess even the afterlife is unfair...I don't think I did anything that bad to be in here..."

Shen lied down on the floor, which felt as hard as stone.

"Ouch, my head, I guess I did die... I'll just sleep for a bit-? Hrm?"

For the first time since entering this "hell," Shen saw light. A white orb was floating towards him.

"Hahahaha! I'm already dead, I'll take any risk for adventure," He quickly stood up and headed towards the orb which was getting brighter and brighter.

At last, he touched it.

A bright blue holographic image showed up on Shen's sight which he read.

Shen blanky read the screen again.

"A system? Like i-in those novels back on earth? D-does this mean I'll get reincarnated?"

-Ding

Another blue screen appeared.

And so, that was what Shen did.

Thoughts swarmed his mind like a beehive, 'Am I dreaming? Hallucinating? Is this a mental asylum?' But one thought was stronger than the others, 'I guess I really did die...'

Soon after, 24 hours passed.

Shen was currently lying down while hugging the orb. He couldn't sleep because of the orb which was annoying, as it was bright and he wanted to sleep after dying. His thoughts were once again interrupted by another sound.
