Invasion Began

"What is the Duke of Mizalas Duchy doing here?!" the High Captain asked, his voice so high it would have been mistaken for a scream.

"I don't know, but we have to do something, but no one here could face off against a peak Genesis Sea expert except for the Duke and we could not call him now," the Marshal exclaimed, frustrated by their current situation.

"Then we have to call the Duke now!"

"We need to give him time so he can break through the Spirit Grand realm!"

"He would not be able to break through if the entire Duchy is destroyed on the first day!"

 "Mayb-"

 "Enough,"

An unexpected person spoke, and the other members of the High Command looked at Ryker, who gave them a resolute glare.

"There are ways to hold the enemy Duke for a time. There is a reason why I convinced the Duke to create this formation in the first place," he told them, making the top experts of the Kilrun Duchy look at him in disbelief.

He smiled smugly at them, "Let's just say there is a lot more to this formation than you knew of,"

"Come on you pathetic excuse of a leader! Even a worm would make a better challenge than you and your sorry rabble!" the Duke of Mizalas Duchy exclaimed, taunting the Duke of the Kilrun Duchy, if he had been present.

However, the soldiers of the Kilrun Duchy heard the man, loud and clear. And there are very pissed off. It's one thing to insult them. It's another to insult their leader, who is ready to sacrifice himself to protect their home.

"Come on, Duke beat those dogs of the Mizalas back to the hole they came from!"

"Yeah, my lord! Show them who is the real worm!"

"Best them until they cried back to their mother, my lord!"

"Enough!" a roar from one of the Genesis Lake experts stops the soldiers from hurling insults at the Duke of Mizalas Duchy.

"If the Duke tried to fight the enemy, he would likely be ambushed and surrounded by the rest of the Genesis Sea expert," the Genesis Lake expert explained, making them realize how stupid they had acted.

Before they could apologize to their leader for their unbecoming behavior, a figure flew out of the capital, revealing himself to the Duke.

Right now, every soldier was speechless, as the Duke seemed to be calm despite having to face 80 Genesis Sea experts.

"What is the Duke doing?!" one of the Genesis Lake experts could not help but scream.

"Dogs of Mizalas, I want to say you are welcome here, but that would be lying," the Duke said, looking at the gathered experts in front of him with a calm look.

"Looks like the so-called Duke could not handle a mere taunt. This will be a short fight," the Duke of Mizalas Duchy said, insulting the Duke before silently ordering his Genesis Sea experts to surround the Duke.

"Oh, but it is you who were at a disadvantage," the Duke said before the formation at the capital erupted and sent a flow of energy, making his aura rose to a whole new level, strong enough to handle the Duke of Mizalas and his men.

"So a mere-" the Duke of Mizalas was not able to finish his word when a powerful punch, infused with death qi slammed into his face, the man could barely form a proper defense, resulting in the death qi affecting him, corroding his face.

"Aargh!" the Duke of Mizalas screamed, clutching his face that rots and fester, decaying at a naked speed.

Realizing their leader was at a disadvantage, the Genesis Sea experts tried to bombard the Duke, but he vanished, disappearing from their sight before appearing behind one of the weaker Genesis Sea experts.

The Genesis Sea expert could barely react before he was blown to pieces, a fist replacing his place. After the death of the Genesis Sea expert, the Duke flew towards the capital to the cheers of his men, who all cheered for his victory in the first skirmish.

The Duke then headed towards his mansion, where the High Command all waited for him.

"Young man, are you alright?" the Grand Advisor asked the Duke.

The Duke then ripped off his face, showing that it was a mask all along, before Ryker appeared in front of them, looking slightly exhausted but still strong enough to walk on his own.

"I'm fine, and looks like the morale was high after that brief fight," he answered, looking at the soldiers who were still cheering for their victorious Duke.

"Yes, but it looks like the enemy would not take the insult lying down," the Marshal stated, the other members of the High Command looked at where he pointed and saw the huge army began to march towards the capital, the siege engines following the army from behind.

The army began to split into several smaller but still massive armies, all heading towards the capital intent to destroy the final resistance once and for all.

Flying on top of the armies were Genesis Sea experts, twenty coming from every cardinal direction. The huge forces seemed intent on swallowing the capital whole, at least if one had a cultivator's eyes view.

"Well then, if they wanted to die so much, let them come," the High Captain said, his smile vicious and promising pain to the Mizalas' intruders.

"We can do that yet," when the other looked at the Grand Advisor, confusion written all over their face, he continued, "We have to give them a proper give first, one that is appropriately explosive,"

At his words, the other members of the High Command laughed, eager to watch the domineering Mizalas fall upon the trap they laid out.

The Mizalas forces soon arrived 100 meters from the capital. Despite being close to the capital, the soldiers of Kilrun did not make any move, which made sense as they were horribly outnumbered, the number of soldiers the Mizalas forces had reached two million, more than double what the Kilrun had when they were able to combine their entire force, plus the new recruits they have, and the auxiliary forces they have.

As such, the Mizalas soldiers were confident they would not face any attack until they reached the walls. Unfortunately, they fail to account for traps prepared for nearly 3 weeks, ready to rain havoc upon the Mizalas.

-x-

"They are 20 meters from the walls, sir!" one of the former members of the reconnaissance squad, now turned into skirmish and assault squad, called out the distance of the Mizalas force to the wall.

The High Command all exchange an evil smile with one another.

"Let's give them a big surprise,"
