Abandoned

The entire hall was empty; no one had come. Everything had been set right for mourning. The only relative of the deceased, their daughter, was sitting in front of the photo placed in the center. Even the corpse had not been found, as the bomb blast had entirely damaged the car and the people in it.

Since she was their child, she was supposed to do all the things despite her age. But she blamed herself for not being filial. Poor her, what could a twelve-year-old girl do except cry in a situation where she had lost her family, and there was no one standing with her for support? While almost all the relatives were concerned about her fourteen-year-old brother, as he was going to inherit the Smith's will, she had become the unfavored child just because she was a girl.

She tried to call her close relatives, but no one came. So, what now? She had to live on her own. What could a twelve-year-old girl do? She couldn't work; it was against the law. She couldn't turn to her relatives. She had self-dignity.

She decided that she would take back everything that rightfully belonged to her. She didn't want revenge; she just wanted to be strong.

She stood up and went to the locker room in the study. Since she was her father's apple of the eye, he had told her where the will was. She opened the safe and took the will. The will stated that whoever, between Katrien Smith, his daughter, and Frey Smith, his son, was capable of earning fifty million within twelve years from the date of the will coming into force, would be the inheritor of the property.

Katrien's face got an evil smirk on seeing her father's clever move. Because everyone in the family knew how useless Frey was. The real person who was abandoned was Frey and her greedy relatives. She hugged the will and cried her heart out.

She again placed the will in the safe and walked out of the study.
