Chapter 2: End and Beginning
Masamune is currently on a bus heading home.
If he were, to be honest, he is actually feeling nervous. His predecessor had not seen his mother and sister for five years. Not to mention that he had just taken over the body of their brother and son.
Fortunately for him, this is also a blessing in disguise. Because even if there is a big difference in personality between him and his predecessor. They won't be suspicious of it because it is only natural for people to change.
Even though he had inherited all of his predecessor's memories, that does not mean that he will also have the same personality.
He may have no idea his real name before he became Masamune, but he knows that he won't be someone so weak to be traumatized just because of a simple silly nickname.
Masamune felt someone staring at him again, he turns to look where he senses it and saw two beautiful girls wearing a uniform staring at him as they talk.
When the two saw him looking at them, they both stopped talking as they started to look like they were about to burst into a panic attack.
Masamune flashed them a smile before he went back to continue his thoughts. If he were to guess, then the two girls should be blushing right now.
He had already experienced this kind of situation in his five-hour journey. As he had been staying with his grandfather in the mountains all these five years, he had no other people that much. Aside from people who occasionally travel in the mountains, he had no interaction with people that much. His improved appearance has started to get the recognition they deserve.
Speaking of appearance, his grandfather was also shocked by this change as he had suddenly become even more handsome overnight, which is strange.
But this is not the only thing strange happening in his body. He had been feeling a lot more powerful lately, and not because of the training he had done with his grandfather.
Masamune knows well that the kind of training he was doing will not let him be able to lift a large boulder. Though he had no idea how much it weighed exactly, that boulder must have been more than 1 ton.
Not only that, his memory had been improving a lot lately. And it may have also affected his intelligence as he had been seeing a lot of things clearly since then.
Masamune had a suspicion but he was not clear if it was possible or not. Because of the lack of his memories before taking over his predecessor's body, he could not come up with any reasons for these changes. He could only attribute it to his unique situation.
His sister, Hayase Chinatsu should be 10-years-old now. He had left home when she was only five years old, now that he thinks about it, she had been crying very hard at that time. But his predecessor had been too weak to face something so small as a rejection and had been even planning revenge.
There was this saying that "Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves."
A mistake can never be corrected with another mistake. So taking revenge is not on his agenda. Moreover, what happened in the past had helped him to push himself forward.
He will now live a new life and will never be influenced by his past.

Masamune was brought out of his thoughts when he heard the ring. It would appear that he had arrived at his destination, hence, he got off the bus.
Masamune smiled as he passed by a few female students who had been staring at him for a while now. If he had stopped for a while, he was certain that he would get surrounded immediately so he hurriedly left the place.
The bus station was not far from their home, Masamune could still remember which route to take to their house.
When he saw the familiar house he had lived in five years ago, two girls suddenly started running towards him.
"Maa-Kun!"
"Onii-chan"
One was very short and small with light brown hair that curls at the tips, brown eyes and she wears a headband that has a dog footprint on it.
The other girl has light brown hair that is tied into a braided ponytail on the left side by a green hair tie with a fringe that brushes past her brows on the right side. She also has brown eyes.
It may sound hard to believe but one of these two girls is his mother while the other one was his sister. But before all of that, he opens his arms wide and accepted the hug of two gir- ahem, his mother and sister.
"Maa-Kun... Are you alright? Have you eaten yet?"
"Onii-chan, you're not leaving again, right, right??"
"Maa-Kun, mama will prepare all of your favorites."
"Onii-chan, Chinatsu will be good, don't leave, okay?"
Masamune felt like his heart was getting squeezed by someone. Looking at the two in his embrace, they will be his closest family from now on. He felt that he must protect them and let them live happy life.
He will consider this as a way of paying his second chance in life and also because he will be truly 'Hayase Masamune' from now on.
"Don't worry mom, I will eat everything you cook for me. I was just about to ask what we have for lunch."
"And Chinatsu, Onii-chan will never leave again. I promise. Onii-chan will play together with Chinatsu every day."
His mother, Hayase Kinue despite having a child-like body and a childish personality. She can be mature sometimes if she wanted to. As she only let out a smile after a mild surprise from what he had said and the noticeable change in his personality.
She only attributed it to being separated from each other for five years. Her son must have finally grown up.
On the other hand, Hayase Chinatsu was beaming. She let out a charming smile towards Masamune as he feels like he had seen an angel.
"Let's go inside first. Maa-Kun must be tired, you can rest in your room, I have already clean your old room."
"Come on, Onii-chan."
Masamune let himself be dragged by his mother and as they entered the house.
"I'm home."
