With the tensions sky-high, only one individual making a move could trigger an explosion of reactions. That was exactly what happened.
"Logan, stop!" Ororo shouted at the man and wanted to stand in between, only to end up being flung away by Ray.
"Ray!" Jean yelled when she saw Wolverine's claws coming towards them.
"Nobody interferes," He said, pushed Jean behind, and got ready to receive Wolverine.
Cyclops' eyes had started to shine towards Ray, but he suddenly stopped and found his body unable to move. Xavier restrained him and sent him a mental message, 'Don't get involved, Scott!'.
'You too don't make a move' For her part, Emma restrained Raven who was about to reach for the gun concealed in her trousers.
...
Ray noticed that Wolverine retracted his claws as he ran, "You want this to be a street fight?!"
"One punch is enough, kid, for the family!"
Logan lunged, and despite his grievances, he still was one 'rational' fellow, a fight to the death was not his desire. He came in fist-first and squared up against Ray's face. He even laughed inwardly when Ray chose to receive it instead of dodging it.
But when Logan's fist impacted, the noise of steel meeting steel resonated audibly.
*CLAANG!*
It resembled the noise of two gigantic pieces of still crashing against one another. Wolverine was stunned at first, Ray spat a mouthful of blood, but he didn't move from his spot one bit. The right side of his face was hideous enough to give young kids nightmares for years. When Wolvering checked up his knuckles, the skin was shattered in blood and he could see his adamantium bones showing up.
"That hurt, bitch... you didn't hold back so I won't either, clench your fucking teeth".
By the time Logan realised how fucked up he was, Ray's hideous wound had already healed.
*BAANGG!*
!!!
Logan shot across the field, phasing by Xavier and his group like a bullet before he blasted the mansion's gate entrance open, and rolled for about ten metres before coming to a stop. His chest had a smoking fist-shape on his chest and he struggled to stand up after coughing blood like crazy.
Similarly, Ray stared at his fist that had completely shattered upon impact.
'It is as Emma said, that bastard's skeleton is so tough'.
Xavier and his group stared in shock at how his hand re-shaped up, his fingers joined all back and cracked until his hand was okay. Compared to Logan's, Ray's regenerative factor was ridiculous, to say the least.
Ororo flew towards the blasted Logan to make sure he was alright.
"Ray, are you okay?!" Jean hadn't ever seen Ray subject to such horrid wounds, it was shocking to see his hand re-grow for her as well. While she checked up on him, Cyclops was staring at her deeply.
"I'm okay, Jean. You don't need to worry".
Xavier rolled his wheelchair, his eyes at Ray at all times, the display of strength greater than he had imagined, let alone, 'I still can't read his mind, but I should be able to send him a telepathic message'.
'I apologise on his behalf. You may not know but Sabretooth, the man you took care of, is Logan's brother, I'm unaware of what emotional attachments he may have–'.
"You apologise, but you could have stopped him instead, couldn't you?" Ray said out loud, stopping Xavier in his tracks.
"I know how you telepaths work, did you forget I have two on my side?".
Emma and Jean each held one of Ray's hands, Xavier frowned, especially when he pried on the redhead's mind.
"Keep your useless tests to yourself, Charles. Ray is not someone you can mess with, hopefully, you have realised" Raven added.
"I will apologise again. If it is not an inconvenience for you, wouldn't you like to have a cup of tea at least inside? It is cold outside for the children" Xavier knew his way with words.
Ray thought for a while before nodding, it would be a waste to have driven all the way here without trying, just to get his jaw punched.
"I'm not done..." Logan staggered, he tried to stand up but eventually collapsed once again in Ororo's arms.
"No, you are done, Logan" Ororo sighed and helped him back into the mansion.

I'm sure that fist must have hurt. So what if you have the toughest of skeletons? your organs are still made of flesh, I'm sure that fist must have shattered several of them.
"Let's keep things nice and peaceful," Hank said, he and Raven got into some sort of settlement and took care of the children as well as went into the mansion. A set of young adults came out as well to receive everyone, they were the upperclassmen and they were mutants too.
"Man, you gave it to him!"
"I've never seen the teacher groan like that!"
They were all over me, Emma and Jean. It seems they respected me for blasting Logan like that.
We walked in following Xavier.
"We have enough rooms for them, but I'm afraid I'll have to start plans to build an appendix even if just for rooms," The baldy said, I could tell too that no matter how big this mansion is, we brought with us more than a hundred children. Even if they stayed several in one room, that must have been an abrupt change.
"So you didn't speak to Raven before we came here".
Xavier turned to me with a frown, "She didn't mention me a thing, we aren't precisely friends".
When I turned to look at Raven, she was looking away and whistling, this woman is something else.
"What did you expect me to say to him? 'Hey, I'm moving in with my children?' to my enemy?" Raven groaned.
She's got a point but still, I sighed, "As we said we don't mind financing this endeavour. You and I are not allies, but I respect what you do. If we came here of all places, that should tell you enough".
"I appreciate it, and I'd also appreciate it if throughout this conversation you let me know what your intentions are as a whole, Ray Stark".
...
We were led on a tour around the mansion, Xavier said he didn't mind taking in the children, and wanted to show me what sort of environment they were going to be living in. The way he knew Emma and I were the ones to crash the party in Manhattan where Sabretooth died, is the same way he knew where those children came from, so he didn't mind accepting them.
The mutant and non-mutant teachers worked in the institution, although only mutants slept in the dorms. This institution is also regulated by the state and qualified to hand over pre-graduate and post-graduate degrees.
I looked at Raven who seemed familiar with all the corners of this mansion. She said she didn't share the views Charles Xavier had over mutants, but one can't deny the efforts he has put into building up this environment.
He may lack higher ambitions, but at least he has achieved something within his scope.
"Jean..."
"What is it?"
"Do you like this place?" I asked her. Jean had been hooking up her arm on me and yawning, I removed yawning tears and awaited her answer.
"... it looks nice, why do you ask?"
"Nothing".
The redhead frowned and pulled me to a corner, "You're not thinking of something stupid, are you?"
It is certainly not something stupid, more like something convenient for her, "What do you mean stupid?".
"Something stupid like me attending this school, Ray".
"... why is that a stupid suggestion–"
She pressed me further against the wall using both her physical strength and her telekinesis like she was trying to prove a point.
"Because I'd be far away from you, Annie and my parents, I don't want that!"
"What about me? You don't want to stay close to me?~" Emma peeked out of a corner with a smirk. Jean glared at her for a second and then ignored her.
"Hey!"
"In any case, I don't wanna, so don't even be suggesting it, alright?" Jean then pulled me and Emma out of there
"It was just a suggestion. If you don't want then you don't have to" I clarified, I only thought it would be a nice environment for her who is not into this sort of criminalistic life that Emma and I are involved in, but her decision is her decision, and I would respect it.
"I want to be with you" She blushed and said.
"Alright" I held her hand tighter, as expected... it feels nice to not be always so empty.
"Y-You're flustered~" Emma embraced me from behind, apparently I was blushing.
I looked at her, she looked at me... and then she recalled that she was supposed to be upset at me and released.
"Hmph! Don't think we're good, I'm still pissed!" The blonde harrumphed.
"Is that so?~"
As expected, I love these two girls... if Jean had told me that she wanted to study here, perhaps... just perhaps... I'd have tried to change her mind.
