Flying General!

Time Period: 190 Ad

" China, how long has it been since I've been here, I wonder? I don't think I've stepped foot in this land since Qin Shi Huángs death. That was a long time ago." Poseidon spoke. He looked out at the land of China and marveled at its beauty. A feeling of nostalgia washed over him as he sat on top of the mountain peak.

The wind brushing past his face, the sun shining down on his face, reminded him why he loved this land so much.

" I think, I'll take a look around. Maybe I'll meet someone interesting." Poseidon spoke. He stood up from the tip of the mountain and just as he did, he heard the sound of thunder from below. " Heh, speaking of someone interesting."

P.O.V Change. Lu Bu.

" Another failure. Grm." Lu bu dropped the wrecked remains of another halberd and reached down into a massive pile of halberds and picked up another. He reeled back the Halberd in his mighty hands and thrusted it forward with such force and intensity that the halberd ripped itself apart. " Another." Lu Bu was mightier than any other of his time. And to be the perfect warrior, he needed the perfect weapon. Strong, flexible, and resilient enough to withstand his mighty strength. But yet, no matter how long he searched nothing seemed to be able to withstand his grip. And this pained Lu Bu greatly. Forever strong, yet unable to reach his peak due to not having a weapon to help him.

Lu Bu continued tirelessly, trying each and every single Halberd he had in his possession, hoping for one of them to withstand the test.

" My lord, perhaps you should rest for a bit. Gather your nerves." Chen Gong, Lu Bu's lieutenant, spoke. He was a devout follower of the general and believed full in his cause.

Lu Bu, however, did not respond. He merely reached for the next Halberd. However, as he did, he felt a chill run up his spine and a presence approaching him. Lu Bu looked up just in time to see something large crash down in front of him.

" Well, looks like I found something interesting after all." The man spoke.

Lu Bu turned towards him and grabbed a Halberd.

" Who are you?" Lu Bu asked.

" I am who I am. Who are you?" The man asked.

" Lu Bu." He replied.

" Well, Lu Bu, I couldn't help but overhear that mighty swing of yours. Such force, it sounded like thunder. You must be pretty strong to be able to do something like that." The man spoke. " It's been a while since I've had a good challenge. You wouldn't mind going a few rounds with me, would you?" The man asked.

Lu Bu eyed the stranger adamantly. He was strange, his skin whiter than any he had seen before, his clothing was weird as well, he was wearing a dusty brown robe, but Lu Bu had seen under it as he was falling. And his weapon was even weirder, he had seen Tridents before, but not one like this. Blue and with fish scales on the blade. That was a strange combination even for him.

But nevertheless, Lu Bu smiled.

" Okay, why not. I need something to distract myself. I hope you are ready." Lu Bu stated. He raised his Halberd and charged the man.

He leapt into the air and swung the Halberd down, not with all his might, but still pretty great force. But Lu Bu wasn't ready for what happened.

The man parried Lu Bu's strike and pushed him back a great distance.

Lu Bu looked up in shock. Never had he been pushed back so easily.

As quick as his shock came it went and, in its place, came excitement.

" Aha!" Lu Bu rushed the man and started swinging his Halberd wildly.

The man amusedly backed away from each of his strikes and then grabbed onto the Halberd, pulling it towards him and chopping the man in the back of the neck.

The strike caused Lu Bu to black out for a moment.

He hit the ground and tumbled. He came to a stop and started coughing up blood.

" Ugh! You... What are you?" Lu Bu asked as he got to his feet. He had never been hit so hard in all his life.

The man didn't reply, he simply raised his hand and beckoned for Lu Bu to attack him again.

Lu Bu lunged forward towards the man while holding the Halberd at the edge of its shaft.

" The Lord is going for his killer move! Get back everyone." Chen Gong shouted.

' Killer move? This should be fun.' Poseidon thought he smirked and raised his Trident in preparation for the fighter's strongest attack, a sense of excitement creeping into his gut.

" SKYEATER!" Lu Bu swung forward with the force of a tornado and slammed his Halberd down on the man's Trident.

Poseidon was surprised by the force of the attack, having to brace himself to prevent from being slammed into the ground.

Lightning danced around the two men and the sky above parted. However, unfortunately for Lu Bu, his Halberd shattered.

" Not bad, Flying General. But you're not there yet." The man spoke to Lu Bu. He then punched Lu Bu right in the center of his stomach.

Lu Bu fell forward and spit up a mouthful of spit. He then collapsed face first on the ground, unconscious from the force of the man's strike.

" Our general needs us! To battle!"

" YAAAAAH!"

The Soldiers of Lu Bu rushed forward to defend their leader, but the man in front of them just shook his head.

" When he wakes up deliver a message. Not there yet. The peak is just a little further." The man spoke. " Until then, I'll be watching."

He then disappeared in a flash of lightning.

" Where'd he go? Search for him in the mountains, the rest of you get Lord Lu Bu back to camp. He needs treatment!"

" YES SIR!"

P.O.V Poseidon.

" Well, that was certainly something. A human who can split the sky. He's going to be something someday. He's not quite at Qin Shi Huángs level. But still for a human man that is impressive. I wonder if this will be a pattern? I meet one human every hundred or so years that can exceed human expectations. I hope not. It feels like they're stuck in limbo. They gain one great man or woman and then they lose them. Something needs to change. Maybe I should try shaking things up once again. It's been a while since I've had an honest adventure. I just hope the world is ready for me."

Poseidon leapt from the mountain top off into the great distance ahead.

I wonder where his next journey will take him.
