[1st POV]
[Hello, Welcome. You recently died a terrible death due to a silly coincidence and the injustice of Fate, and now the God of Games offers you, out of His eternal kindness and generosity, the chance to gain a new life.]
[Yes/No]
Of course, everyone wants to live, but I can hardly understand anything.
'Does the biblical Yahweh, also known as Jehovah, have another nickname or title as the "God of Games," or is this a different god?'
This system...
It feels like I've become part of some program...
I press "Yes!"
[Congratulations!]
[You now have a chance for a new life in the Marvel world]
[The choice of character, country, social status, and other factors will be determined randomly.]
[Also, you will receive a bonus from the God of Games in your new life.]
It's a pity that I can't choose for myself.

After reading this information, I found myself in my apartment.
To be honest, I don't recall such a character from the canon, but I could tell I was a wealthy puppet, a lonely twenty-seven-year-old man, and a man without children.
It's 2010.
I am in Brooklyn, New York, not far from the famous Brooklyn Bridge.
I have a nicely renovated four-room apartment. I also have a farm from my parents in a neighboring state and a café located on the same street as my apartment.
I got out of bed and approached the mirror.
Looking back at me, I'm a young man but not an attractive man.
I currently weigh about one hundred sixty-five kilograms and am one hundred seventy-eight centimeters tall.
I had a decent amount of hair on my arms and chest.
In addition, my unwashed hair had grown to my shoulders, but at least my face was almost shaved.
However, with those fat cheeks and two chins, this was actually a disadvantage.
I probably need to grow a beard to hide this mess, and if I sort out my excess weight later, I may not need to grow any extra hair.
Moreover, I had such a beer belly that it could be used as armor or a table...
Well, fate certainly loves me.
In my past life, I wasn't an athlete, and I even had a small beer belly, but not to this extent.
'What the hell!'
"Ding!"
[You have acquired the skill "Observant".]
I just looked at myself in the mirror and gained a skill, just like in games.
Suddenly, I was reminded I needed to be at my café in an hour.
I was there as a cook alongside an old lady who worked for me and a young waitress-student.
While Miss Donovan sometimes cooked and occasionally helped Penny serve orders, I was only in the kitchen.
The previous Chris didn't like being the center of attention.
He also felt insecure about his appearance.
To be fair, I was a bit harsh when I criticized him for letting himself go.
He was genetically prone to being overweight because everyone in his family weighed no less than ninety kilograms.
Therefore, it wasn't entirely his fault; it was more about genetics and bad luck.
He wasn't even accepted into the army back then because of obesity, even though he had tried several times, but they kicked him out.
After gathering my thoughts and summoning all my willpower, I brushed my teeth, washed my face, and took a shower.
Soon, I found some nice things in my closet: black loose pants, black socks, a white shirt over a white tank top, and a brown vest.
After leaving the house, drinking coffee, and eating a bit of yesterday's casserole I had made, I headed to work.
It's not everything is as bad as it seems at first glance with my own business, aside from the rental income from the farmland inherited from my parents.
The fact that I'm now a fat guy isn't the worst.
The café was typical for America, resembling diners in various movies or roadside cafés along highways.
A sweet old lady, a typical grandma, greeted me at the entrance.
"Good morning, Chris. I see you're in better shape today than yesterday?"
She smiled, walking to the window to raise the curtains.
"A little bit. I just got some good sleep and now see the world in a new light."
I replied cheerfully and with a smile.
"That's right. With that attitude, you'll definitely find yourself a girlfriend!"
She assured me.
"Yeah, you sure know how to say nice things while hitting me right in the self-esteem."
I remembered that Chris was self-conscious despite not being a virgin like Captain America. He still had issues in his personal life.
"Come on, dear. Better forget the unpleasant things and focus on your favorite work."
"Ding!"
[New Quest: "Employee of the Day"
Description: You will have a tough day ahead. You need to remember all of Christian Smith's skills and complete a hundred orders in a day.
Reward:
+1 Level Up.
+1000 Experience
+100 Relationship Points with any chef
+10 Attribute Point (AP)
1 AP Each Order]
[Yes/No]
Well, I don't mind giving it a try.
After all, I still remember Chris's memory, including his muscle memory. Moreover, I'm not stupid in the kitchen; I can tell a carrot from an onion.
...
It wasn't that I couldn't handle it.
It was just that I felt tired.
Although Chris's experience helped me out, I even slightly exceeded the task by three additional orders.
At nine in the evening, when we closed, I received the following message from this Player System:
[Congratulations!]
[Quest Completed: "Employee of the Day"]
[Reward:
+1 Level Up.
+1000 Experience
+100 Relationship Points with any chef
+10 (AP)
+3 AP]
But right after that, I received this as well.
[+1 Observant]
[+1 Cooking]
[+1 Endurance]
[+1 Agility]
After that, I looked at my stats and realized I could improve them.
I added all ten of my main free points to Endurance and the three extra points to Strength.
Additionally, I had the morning's ten Free Points, which I decided to put into Luck.
After cleaning up and closing the café behind me, I went home, had dinner, took a shower, changed clothes, and went out for a walk.
As I strolled through the well-lit streets filled with people, I pondered the future.
I can't say for sure what exactly.
After all, Marvel is such a thing that anything is possible here, and after my arrival and the cliché of being an "isekai," anything that the twisted imaginations of the Higher Beings who brought me here desire could happen.
I don't want to participate in all of this... that's not for me. No matter what anyone says, I'm a quiet and peaceful person.
I don't want to join S.H.I.E.L.D., the Avengers, the Brotherhood of Mutants, Hydra, or any other group.
"Ding!"
[Dear Christian Smith,
Don't worry, I'm not trying to scare you or give you a SPECIAL ASSIGNMENT! I just want to assure you that you will still gather a harem of beauties whether you like it or not. You will inevitably find yourself in the middle of plots. You will be involved with some organizations. You will be a jack-of-all-trades whether you like it or not! And, of course, you won't break the clichés about being an isekai character. Otherwise, I wouldn't respect myself. Believe me, my dear Chris, you have such opportunities that any other person would choke on them.
I may be putting too much pressure on you, and this is all too new for you, which is why you're reacting this way. I understand that. After all, you are just a regular person, or at least you were until recently. But now, due to my eternal generosity and goodwill, I have decided to give you not one bonus but two.
So, the first Bonus is "Dungeons." You will be able to open glorious dungeons and gain additional experience and loot, and, of course, have additional plot lines. Moreover, seeing your depressed state, your lack of self-confidence, and your past unsuccessful personal life, as well as the terrible personal life of the previous Smith, I decided to make a truly Divine gift for which other players of your rank would choke with envy. At the very first meeting, regardless of your desires, actions, behavior, appearance, words, and so on, any canonical heroine, villainess, or anti-heroine will fall head over heels in love with you! Just one who sees your face in person.
As you understand, or perhaps don't, depending on who falls in love with you, you will be most closely tied to that organization or plot. There's no need for thanks. I do everything for you ungrateful people who do not appreciate my generosity. And to stir your interest, I'll give you a hint: you can find yourself "adventures for one" over the course of seven days by yourself. If, after those seven days, you find no one or no one finds you. If you don't get your "adventure," I will slightly change the hint. The heroine will become a hero, the villainess will turn into a villain, the anti-heroine will become an anti-hero, and you will become a passive character!
Once again, no need for thanks. I wish you all the most interesting and unusual things.
Your God of Games...]
'Why is all this happening to me?!'
I asked myself when realizing that they "want to marry me off without my consent.
'Why can't I just live peacefully? I don't want to be an overpowered main character!'
Boom!
It seems that the explosion was in the block over.
[This is your chance to get the second bonus early!]
I received this from the System.
'What have I done to this God of Games and his damn System?'
Besides that, what am I supposed to do now?
To be continued…
