New Universe?

"Jake, you stood me up again these past few days, you bastard! If you don't come and help me beat that video game soon, you'll lose a highly skilled trader like me!"

Carl Sheldon wrapped his arm around Jake's neck, threatening him playfully. Carl's father, a well-known stockbroker on Wall Street, had influenced Carl from a young age, teaching him about the American stock market. As a result, Carl had become quite adept at trading.

Recognizing Carl's talent, Jake entrusted his money to him, allowing Carl to help open an account with the assistance of Carl's father. This made the process much faster than if Jake had done it on his own. Once the account was established, Jake took the lead, while Carl followed his orders.

Together, they had made a significant amount of money. However, since Carl had heard from his father about the unpredictable nature of the stock market, he hadn't invested much, resulting in fewer profits compared to Jake. At present, Jake managed most of his funds independently, leaving Carl with only a little over a million dollars to manage.

"I didn't stand you up, Carl. It seems like you need this more than the game," Jake retorted.

Jake took out several textbooks filled with notes. Although they weren't specifically prepared for Carl, Jake happened to have them with him that day.

"Carl, go through these, and they should help you prepare for your exams at school," Jake suggested.

Carl took the textbooks and flipped through the pages. The dense notes overwhelmed him; he was more accustomed to diving into financial reports from Wall Street.

"Jake, my goal isn't Columbia University, and I don't need this," Carl responded.

"What? Are you saying you don't need this? Carl, take a look at the notes inside and then look at me. Do you have any idea how much time I spent preparing this for you?" Jake pretended to be hurt, trying to tap into Carl's sense of guilt.

"Jake, you know me. If I were to read through these, I'd probably end up needing emergency treatment in the ICU," Carl apologized, realizing the effort Jake had put into these basic textbooks. Despite this, he still declined the kind gesture, feeling guilty about it.

"Oh, never mind. Maybe I didn't think it through. It's not your fault. However, Carl, there's actually something else I need your help with," Jake seized the opportunity to make a request. Given Carl's connections through his father and his availability, Jake saw him as a valuable resource.

"No problem. If it's within my capabilities, I won't refuse," Carl readily agreed.

With his father's extensive network and numerous tasks on Jake's to-do list, Carl was a more beneficial asset than a gamer. Assigning Carl errands proved to be a better use of his time than playing video games all day.

"I need to find a warehouse with high security for rent and locate a reliable supplier for a supermarket. I might need their services in the future."

Jake wasn't sure what kind of world he was about to enter, but for now, the only things he had to offer were daily necessities, medicine, and weapons. He wasn't able to supply weapons on a large scale yet, so he could only hope that his first trading venture would go smoothly.

Carl looked at Jake suspiciously. "Are you planning to start a supermarket? That's not a good choice. Aren't you going to disband the Wall Street Lightning Group?"

"I have other plans. Please, Carl, I'll get in touch with you later. And by the way, the so-called Lightning Group never really existed. I've never joined any group, especially one with such a strange name."

With that, it was almost time for class, and Jake ended his conversation with Carl.

Jake had the most freedom during class time at school. As long as he didn't disturb others or break any laws, nobody would bother him. This was because of his high grades. Those who were likely to be accepted into Columbia University didn't need to learn things they already knew.

Jake even decided to ask the teacher for a long-term leave during class. He didn't want to waste his time at school anymore. With a whole universe ahead of him to explore, studying in school held no appeal to him. He was even considering not going to college and instead spending his time traveling through different universes.

---

After a few days, Jake arrived early at another residence. Although there were many buildings there, not many people lived in them. Jake's parents had also bought this place but hadn't spent much time there.

At night, Jake finally saw a small truck parked outside his door. After the truck flashed its lights three times, Jake opened the garage door and let the weapon shop owner drive in.

"Everything you want is here. Outside are bullets, and inside are guns and rocket launchers. Once you leave here, I will never admit to selling you these things."

After the owner finished his warnings, he helped Jake move the ammo box down before opening each one for him to inspect. After confirming that the ammunition was correct, Jake got into the car to examine the firearms he wanted to purchase.

There were no problems with the handguns, rifles, and submachine guns. The sound was crisp, and Jake had been familiar with weapons for a few years, so he could tell that this batch was new. He had never seen a rocket launcher before, so he wasn't sure how to differentiate it, but he still picked it up and looked at it.

"No problem, boss. It's been a pleasure doing business with you." After speaking, Jake returned to the house and handed over the remaining payment to the shop owner. "I hope you can give me an excellent discount next time we do business. After all, I'm considering long-term transactions."

In his previous weapons purchases, Jake could only buy from these people. However, once he had developed his power, he might be able to order directly from Stark Industries.

"Call me George. It will be a fair price next time. I won't cheat my old customers."

Once the money was confirmed, George drove away. He planned to take a month off, reopening the shop only when he confirmed that Jake was a safe customer.

With George gone, Jake organized the ammunition and firearms into the inventory of the trading system. Before doing so, he loaded all the guns with ammunition, including the shells in the rocket launcher. "It's quite convenient," he remarked.

Jake tested removing and putting the firearms back in the inventory, finding it to be a quick process. With only one thought, the desired weapon could materialize in his hand. This way, he could catch others off guard.

"Next, let's search for the first trading world through the system."

Since Jake had obtained the weapons, the house was no longer useful to him. He drove back to his safer villa and waited until the refreshing countdown hit 0.

"System, search for the trading world."

As Jake gave the command, ripples spread across the panel. Countless stars flashed by, and finally, a dazzling star appeared before the system panel showed scenes of this world.

On a battlefield, people were fighting while wearing thick green vests with multiple pockets. Instead of guns, they used hand gestures to release elemental attacks like water, fire, wind, and lightning. They also wielded shurikens with four corners and sharp blades wrapped in cloth.

Besides the battlefield, Jake saw civilians shopping on the streets and merchants enjoying food and drink in a tavern while chatting and laughing about their business. His eyes widened as he recognized the world he was going to trade with.

"This is the world of Naruto."

***

Naruto's world, originally an ordinary planet, would have developed technology alongside its extraordinary beings if left undisturbed. However, the arrival of several individuals from the Otsutsuki clan drastically altered its course.

Chakra.

Otsutsuki Kaguya planted the Divine Tree on the planet. After assassinating her colleague, Otsutsuki Isshiki, she sacrificed his powers to the Divine Tree and consumed the chakra fruit herself. After giving birth to two children, she was eventually sealed away due to conflicting beliefs with her sons, Otsutsuki Hagoromo and Otsutsuki Hamura.

Otsutsuki Hagoromo later spread chakra throughout the world, and after his son Indra developed ninjutsu, the ninja class emerged and grew in prominence.

"I saw battle scenes, but I'm not sure when they took place. If it's the Fourth Great Ninja War, it's better to wait before going there. However, the scenes showed both Leaf and Stone shinobi fighting each other, so it shouldn't be the Fourth Great Ninja War," Jake thought. The Fourth Great Ninja War was catastrophic, and if he wasn't careful, he could be caught in the Infinite Tsukuyomi.

"Since they're still at war, I'll need to adjust my plans for supplies. Increase the amount of medicine by half and leave only the essentials."

Jake had attended private parties with his father and knew some influential people, including those from pharmaceutical companies. He could order a batch of medicines directly from them. Jake needed a lot, but he wondered what he could get in return from the Naruto world.

The currency in the ninja world was worthless outside of it. Gold was an option, but it seemed rare in the ninja world, with only the Fourth Kazekage of the Sand Village known to have it. Jake didn't run a gold shop or a metal company, so rare minerals were a last resort.

Taking risks for some gold wasn't worth it; he could make money more easily on Wall Street. What Jake truly desired was a supernatural power. The most magical energy in the Shinobi world was chakra, but this was unique to the residents of that world.

"If I go there myself, extracting chakra might not be possible. Even if it is, the amount wouldn't be significant. Should I seek help from Orochimaru or Tsunade?" Jake scribbled down some plans but then tore them up. He was fantasizing without knowing the exact time period in the ninja world. No matter how many plans he made, they were useless. However, one thing was certain: to gain chakra, he would need Hashirama cells.

If he only extracted chakra without transplanting a few Hashirama cells, then he wouldn't be any different from canon fodder Genin. That wasn't what he wanted; he needed to be much stronger than that. A Genin could be killed by a gun if caught off guard.

Shaking his head, Jake put the matter of chakra to the back of his mind. Now, he needed to prepare in terms of medicine and clothing.

"Thankfully, I speak Japanese."

Dialing a number on his phone, Jake called his friend to ask about his request.

"Carl, how are the warehouses and suppliers I asked for?"

On the other end of the phone, Carl took thirty seconds to open his sleepy eyes and looked at the time on the wall before shouting into the receiver, "Jake, don't you know what time it is? The United States Constitution protects all citizens' sacred and inviolable sleep time!"

"It's noon, Carl. Are you still groggy? I'll tell your father you stayed up all night playing."

Carl immediately woke up and smiled. "Come on, Jake, I was just joking. I've found the warehouses and suppliers for you. I'll take you to see the warehouse this afternoon."

"No problem. I'll drive over in half an hour."

After hanging up, Jake found the name and number of the pharmaceutical company manager in his father's phone book and called him.

"Jace? This is Jake Walker. I want to discuss a deal."

The pharmaceutical company manager was doing some low-level sales work. Still, Jake Walker was a major shareholder in a private hospital in New York, and Jace needed to maintain good relations with him. Moreover, Jake needed a large order, roughly $500,000 worth of drugs and medical equipment.

Buying so much at once in the early 21st century made Jake a significant client, and Jace had to respect that.

Later, Jake and Carl went to see the warehouse. The security and space were adequate for Jake's needs. Few people came to this location, ensuring a good level of confidentiality.

When Jake earned more money, he planned to build more secret warehouses. Large quantities of goods entering and disappearing without a trace might not attract attention initially, but repeated occurrences would raise suspicions.

The warehouse Carl found was not just for Jake. It appeared empty because few people rented it.

After renting the warehouse, Jake returned Carl home and prepared to discuss the drug business with Jace. Besides that, he needed to buy other supplies.

In the Shinobi world, medicine wasn't the only thing people needed. Food could also be life-saving, especially during the Second or Third Great Ninja War.

Jake also needed to establish a strong force in the ninja world, like Gatō. However, he couldn't be as reckless, relying on samurai and wandering ninjas to dominate a country without any real backing.

Firearms and ammunition were Jake's weapons against wandering ninjas and bandits. With enough firearms, even a Chunin could be defeated.

Firearms were powerful. Some rifles were nearly equivalent to a Chunin's shuriken in power and had a fast firing rate. Few Chunin could defend against a team of gunners without defensive jutsu.

Jake took a long leave from school and again missed an appointment with Carl. However, because he had spent so much money recently, he gave Carl some cash to invest in the stock market. There was a sense of impending war in the United States, and both oil and gold had significant room for profit.

After spending a day discussing how to earn money with Carl, Jake left his house to prepare for his journey to the ninja world.

Arriving at his house, he had already packed everything he needed in the inventory, and all that was left was ordering the system to send him to the new world.

Before that, he took out a gun and kept it in his hand to protect himself in case he was transported to a hostile location. Taking a deep breath to calm his heartbeat, Jake's hand stopped shaking from nervousness.

"System, start the world shuttle."

As soon as his words fell, a sudden dazzling purple hue surrounded him, and his surroundings began to blur and distort. Jake felt a strange pulling sensation as if his entire body was being stretched and compressed at the same time before absolute darkness covered his entire vision.
