Chapter 59: Rocket and Groot

Raccoon was taken aback by the question and only then realized his situation. He angrily snarled and clawed at Jack.

"Let me go, you bastard."

However, with his short arms and legs, he couldn't get out in Jack's hands

"I am Groot."

Not far away, Groot saw his captain in danger and ran over to try to save him, ignoring his own safety.

Rocket Raccoon is a genetically modified extraterrestrial raccoon with human-level intelligence. He is skilled in different weapons.

Groot, on the other hand, is a member of the Flora Colossus species and possesses a great deal of intelligence and regenerative ability. He can grow into a giant and stretch his body like rubber to attack enemies.

He can also control other plants and heal others by spreading his body.

Rocket and Groot met in prison and became partners after spending several months together. They are now bounty hunters, and it appears that they have just escaped from prison.

Jack looked up at the Nova Corps soldiers waiting for them in the sky. It seemed like they had just escaped from prison.

An hour later, in the detention room of the Nova Corps headquarters.

"These Xandarians never learn. They always think they can keep me locked up! Ha, There's no way they can keep me locked up! I'll be out of here in no time."

Rocket was lying on the ground in the corner of the detention room, bored and waiting for the Nova Corps to take him to prison.

"I am Groot!"

"I am Groot!" Groot exclaimed again.

"I look forward to that," Rocket said.

Jack sat leaning against the wall, looking at Groot and Rocket's with a curious expression. He wondered how Rocket could understand Groot's repeated phrase, "I am Groot."

He couldn't understand it and shrugged his shoulders before adjusting his position and waiting.

He knew they would release him as long as the Nova Corps wasn't stupid. After all, they had let him go the last time, despite him opening a portal in the middle of the park.

As expected, less than ten minutes later, the person who had released him last time rushed into the detention room. Jack was about to greet him when Rocket exclaimed in surprise, "Saal? The Nova Corps 2nd commander? What's he doing here?"

Jack was stunned to learn that the person who had entered was the 2nd commander of the Nova Corps.

Now that he looked closely, he seemed to resemble the Sal who appeared in the movie. It must be him, without a doubt.

Wait a minute

Jack was suddenly startled, and he thought of something.

According to the timeline of the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, Saal should still be young. How can he look so similar to the character in the movie.

Jack wondered if maybe aliens have longer lifespans than humans. While he tried to reassure himself that it was possible, he couldn't shake off a feeling of worry in his heart.

"Oh, long time no see, Commander Saal. It's great to see you again!"

Jack approached with a friendly attitude and warmly shook Saar's hand. "It feels like it's been ages since we last met. When was that again?"

Saal's hand was held tightly, and he couldn't pull away. He felt uneasy inside, thinking, 'Why is this guy here again?'

To be honest, Saal didn't want anything to do with Jack unless necessary. After all, the remaining destroyed Chitauri mothership was still floating outside of Xandar.

Not to mention, Jack had caught the attention of Thanos, a mad titan. Who knows if Thanos might accuse the Nova Empire of having a connection with Jack.

Saal was extremely annoyed. He really was. His current thought was how to get rid of Jack. But he couldn't use force, so he had to personally send him off as the commander.

"We apologize for the misunderstanding earlier, sir."

Saal sorted out his words, "But, we hope that you can... leave the planet of Xandar immediately."

After speaking, he looked at Jack nervously.

"Of course, no problem. Actually, I've wanted to leave for a while now."

Jack shrugged, showing no embarrassment about being asked to leave, "But I may need a spacecraft that can travel long distances in space."

"We can provide that!"

Saal was happy to hear that Jack was planning to leave and that he didn't have a spacecraft. He immediately offered to help.

"I really appreciated it!" Jack shook Sal's hand continuously.

He was originally worried about how to get a spaceship to return to Earth, but now someone had offered to provide one.

Rocket and Groot in the corner were confused. They couldn't understand why this prisoner, who was in the same lowly position as them, could talk such respect and even caution from the 2nd commander of the Nova Corps.

Especially when Saal sent out a spaceship without even blinking, Jack's dropped in shock.

This was a spaceship, not a common item that could be given away so easily. If the Nova Corps had one, they would have used it to escape the force of Thanos's army.

It was just too unfair.

As Jack was about to leave with Saal, he remembered Rocket and turned back to say, "I'll leave first, and I wish you both good health and all the best."

After saying this, he walked sideways with Sarl towards the hangar to pick up his spaceship. He didn't want to waste any more time. He wanted to return to Earth immediately.

Once he returned to Earth, Thanos would not dare to find him again.
