46 Chapter 46: Ares

Ares

This name is probably familiar to anyone who knows about Greek mythology - the legendary God of War.

However, when it comes to him, what comes to Jack's mind is another person - the goddess with flawless beauty from every angle. A stunningly beautiful goddess with legs that never seem to end. Thinking of her, Jack can't help but lose himself in his fantasies, and his expression becomes increasingly lustful.

It's a shame he crossed into the Marvel universe, not DC. Otherwise, no matter what, he would want to meet her and discuss practical combat techniques with her.

"Hey! Are you daydreaming?" the Valkyrie asks, tossing an empty bottle at Jack's face.

"Nothing! It's nothing!" replied Jack flusteredly after snapping out of his thoughts. He sunk his head into the hot spring and checked his emotions.

"Well, is this Ares guy the burly one?" Jack asked curiously

"Yeah, that burly one. I've heard about your situation with him. He seems to want to chop you up into pieces!"

The female warrior shrugged and rolled her eyes. "Although I don't know how you offended him, he seems to hate you so much that he wants to kill you. Unfortunately for you, tonight is his final match! As long as he beats you, he'll be the champion! Similarly, if you beat him, you'll be the champion!"

"A coincidence? I don't think so." sneered Jack. He could even guess that it was intentionally arranged by that sly Grandmaster. He was a typical mischief who loved to provoke things up.

But it didn't matter. These days, Grandmaster had treated him fairly well. He had good food and a place, and although he had no freedom, it was comfortable for him for a while.

He would leave soon, so he wouldn't cause any trouble.

"By the way, is the spaceship purchased? What about the route planning?"

Thinking about his approaching escape, Jack couldn't help but ask about the spaceship. The Valkyrie had been searching for one for a week, but he didn't know how it was going.

"A spaceship that can travel between galaxies is not cheap. Although we've earned money during this time, we can't afford anything too good."

As the conversation continued, Valkyrie, the operator, pulled up an image on her terminal and enlarged it for Jack.

She explained, "Fortunately, I asked some friends, and they happen to have a pirate ship that has been specially modified. It has much more space than the original, a complete life support system, and can fill in four people. Although the jump engine is not the latest, it is enough for you to return to Midgard. Everything else pretty much meets your requirements."

Jack looked at the virtual image in front of him and raised his eyebrows in surprise. He recognized this ship from the movie Guardians of the Galaxy. Star Lord also had one.

However, this ship was actually a standard raider ship that everyone had, including Jack. Its black surface was shiny, and it looked like a black swallow. It wasn't exactly like Star-Lord's ship, but it was similar.

"This is it!" Jack made the decision, "Let's buy it. Oh, and remember to prepare supplies. I estimate that I will be able to return home in less than two days!"

"As for the course, it's on the star map. You can go to Xandar first, then use the nearest jump point to return to Midgard. However, it will take more than fifty jumps at the fastest, so you'll probably be floating in space for a while!"

"Over fifty times, oh my god." Hearing this number, Jack rubbed his forehead in frustration. Even if he made the trip once a day, it would still take two months.

He had originally planned to borrow Asgard's Rainbow Bridge, but after telling the Valkyrie, she gave him a look of pity and said

"You have a high probability of being killed by Heimdall. Even if you aren't killed, Asgard's defense cannons are powerful enough to turn you into atoms. Even if you manage to survive, believe me, Odin can destroy you in an instant. Your abilities are useless against him, And don't even think about having an equal conversation with them."

So, to avoid being killed, Jack chose to take the longer route.

The Asgardians were even more dominant than he had imagined.

Luckily, he didn't go.

"Tomorrow night is the day of your final battle with Ares. As an Olympian war god, Ares is undoubtedly one of the strongest. Even Zeus might not be his match. Only Hercules can compare to him. Ares was an expert in combat, and his combat skills were honed over thousands of years of life and death struggles. You better not engage him in close combat!"

Valkyrie's expression was serious. As a former Asgardian warrior, she was familiar with Ares' reputation. When Odin expanded the nine realms, he fought against the Olympian gods.

In that battle, Ares was the opponent. The goddess of death, Hela, fought against him for over a month with her hammer before barely forcing him to retreat.

Because of that battle, Hela was seriously injured, and Asgard suffered heavy casualties. Odin decided to stop the war and sent the Valkyries to capture Hela, who would never have agreed to stop the conquest.

If Hela had not been injured, even risking the lives of all the Valkyries would not have been enough to capture her.

That was all history now.

"I will be careful " Jack took in what she said but still maintained an indifferent expression on his face. "I'll just try not to let him get close to me! No problem!"

Seeing him like this, Valkyrie shook her head helplessly. She didn't know if he had taken her words to heart, but she had said all that needed to be said. After reminding him not to die, she got up and left.

Jack watched as Valkyrie disappeared and then withdrew his gaze. He raised his hand, and in the next moment, a half-black, half-gold skull with complicated patterns appeared in his hand.

"This is the future!"

Jack looked at the skull with fanatical eyes. This was the most important opportunity for him to become stronger

Growth Codex

.....

Meanwhile, in a certain chaotic space, two old men floated in the midst of space, facing each other with a chessboard between them.

"You really gave him that thing?" the old man on the left, dressed in a black suit, looked at the old man in the white suit with surprise.

"Of course, it was time to give it to him," replied the white-suited old man, analyzing the formation on the chessboard.

The white-suited old man continued, "But merging with the Growth Codex is difficult. Right now, it's worthless to him unless he can obtain another item."

"I know! You mean this, don't you?" the black-suited old man smirked and pulled out an object from the void, which looked like a model.

"Oh, it seems like you're well prepared."

The man in the white suit laughed: "But when are you planning to give it to him?"

"Let's wait a bit, let him suffer a bit. Otherwise, he might think he's invincible. And besides, we can't control whether he can actually obtain it or not."

"Good point. Hey, don't move! You lost!"

"What? Hey, it doesn't count. I didn't see it just now!"

"Ah, no regrets in making a move! Don't be a sore loser!"
